We've had this dog house for my yellow lab for almost 4 years. Very sturdy. It's been in the sun the whole time, but hasn't had any sun rot. The color has modified slightly, but that's all. Other than the slight color change it still looks brand new. She's mostly an outdoor dog, so this house is well used by her. During the winter she stays in it most of the time. There are times when our dog is inside our home but she'll ask to go outside so she can go in her house. We live in cold, snowy mountains--lots of skiing, so we're used to cold weather. Like the other reviewer, we use cedar chips inside--nice. I like the ideas the reviewer gave about modifying the house with foam. I think we might try that this winter to make it even more cozy. The door was frightening to our dog at first, but she got used to it and now she likes it. I like the window that can be removed in the summer. We might put carpet over those during the winter.

This dog house is solid when put together! Easy assembly, strong and durable. I would highly recommend this dog house to anyone with a medium to large size dog. It keeps the dog nice and warm too. I live in a very cold climate (think 20 below ZERO!) and my short haired beagle does just fine spending the night outside in her dog house.

Since it hasn't gotten too cold yet I can't comment on how warm it is. But it is definitely a well built, solid house. The pieces lock together in a way that keeps out water and even the windows have plastic covers. My dog is a little wary of the door and it takes coaxing to get her to use it. In nice weather I just prop it open. Overall, a great house and I think it should keep her toasty all winter!

My St. Bernard loves this house. I bought it in the summer and duct taped the hinged door open for a few days. My dog is timid but after throwing in a few dog treats, encouragment and watching me crawl in and out, he became comfortable using it, so I took off the duct tape, crawled inside and he followed! It was a crazy tight squeeze to get out. The hinged door didn't bother him in the least and it is a great design for keeping rain out and removing in the summer. Now it is winter and he is very dry and warm. I agree with another reviewer that the dog creates his own warmth. I added a cedar bed, but would opt for the heater if it froze more often where I live.

I purchased this insulated dog house for my black lab pup about a month ago and she loves it! She easily figured out the hinged entry door the first night and seems to be very comfortable inside even when the overnight lows recently dipped into the 20's deg F. I do plan on adding ASL's FHL-20 thermostatically controlled heat pad for the cold Montana winter ahead. In my opinion the maintenance-free construction and pleasing design/appearance of this dog house makes it a good value. Both dog and I highly recommend this product.

When I purchased the product I was concerned by German Shepherd would shred it in minutes. I am happy to report that she tries to pull the threads out (she does succeed sometimes), but overall the roller is holding up. The roller is als good for throwing in the house because it is so soft. This is a well constructed, heavy gate with rubber skid pads for the feet. I liked the quality of the wood. I have a slick wood floor but it doesn't budge when pushed. I have two Westies (13 and 18 lbs) and neither has tried to jump over it. It definitely is for smaller dogs and would not be tall enough for medium to large dogs. While it folds flat, the feet are about 10" long so it takes up quite a bit of space in the closet. It probably wouldn't be a good choice if you have dogs that like to chew wood. Also, you can find it on other sites at lower cost than Amazon. A couple have it at $ 80 with free shipping.

This is a very well made product that is solid and beautiful to look at, BUT my little 8 pound Mini Schnauzer puppy quickly learned to climb over it. The horizontal bars allow it to be climbed like a ladder. So, I'm not exactly sure how that makes this dog suitable for "small to medium size dogs." Otherwise, it's very stable and adapts well to most any size opening that you would have. If you buy this product, I highly recommend training the dog to never place their front feet on the gate. A squirt bottle of water after telling them "off!" seems to work well. The optional rubber pads that stick to the bottom are a joke, the adhesive isn't nearly strong enough and they are falling off within a day or two of assemble. Fortunately, they don't really have a purpose so it's not a problem.

I was looking to purchase a gate, there are so many to choose from. Finally I found this item. BEST CHOICE for what I needed. AND well worth the money, so I bought 2. The wood is excellent quality and easy to put together (way easy) and very sturdy. I use it for outdoors. Since I like it so much I bought a 3rd gate!!!

I should mention I have a Aussy Sheppard as well, 60lbs so far keeps him in as well. He hasn't knocked it over, or tried to jump over.

I use this barrier to contain dogs for housebreaking purposes when I'm there to supervise, for senior fosters, to block off unused rooms, etc. I'm confused by people giving bad reviews because a 20" tall gate didn't contain their lab or their "mountain goat". You have to know your audience here folks. This is a wonderfully constructed, aesthetically pleasing barrier but it isn't going to stop a dog determined to get over it or one strong enough to blow through it. The beauty of this barrier is that it creates a line of demarcation discouraging dogs from crossing. I have 7 dogs and they all respect the line. My three fox terriers can jump it in a heartbeat but they know they aren't supposed to so they don't. The Chihuahuas haven't challenged it so for me it works perfectly while looking great!

I got it for my sister's mixed breed as a gift. She loves it and so does her dog but my mom had to extend the neck and belly velco straps with her sewing skills. I bought the size that should fit for one of the breeds that she is mixed with but should've gotten a size larger because she is a mix and has a deep chest. Buy a size bigger if your dog is on the border of a size, that's my advice. Aside from this it is a wonderful jacket. Both owner and dog really enjoy it. Her dog gets really happy when she sees the jacket:)

I got this for a doberman pincher pup. At first she tried to take it off, by reaching around and biting the rear end of the coat to get it off. So I decided to 'train' her to wear it. I kept her REALLY occupied, chasing a frisbee NON-STOP for 15 min or so for the first few times I put it on her. I then took her right into the house, and ended the play session, removing the coat in the house. If she realizes she must wear it when playing in the cold, she does with no complaint. She got used to it very quickly, and now leaves it alone. I notice it keeps her from shivering so soon after we go out. It fits her body perfectly, and with that tall collar standing up, she looks like 'Elvis' pup. Great Value. It is very well made, and great looking.

UPDATE 11/7/12 I got another pup in 2009 and she also wears this coat, but will tug at the backend of it sometimes, even at 3 yrs old now.But she leaves it on.. . I still LOVE these coats for cold non-snow weather.. I get coats that cover the stomach for deep snow... (fido fleece), but these are easy to put on and do the job of keeping the muscles just warm enough to keep them from getting injurys so easily... I just, last week, purchased 2 more of them as one coat is wearing out finally (after almost 5YEARS of heavy use), and the other has been chewed abit, it has holes in it, from the pup... I forgot to take it away after taking it off her. IT still goes on , but finally the strap under the belly gave out, on the oldest coat.(5yrs) I could sew it back on easily, but the rest of the coat got chewed up so I decided a new one is in order.

I bought this comb as my coc-a-poo has a lot of eye drainage and I needed something to clean her face. This comb has worked great to comb the area under the corner of her eye and on her nose. This face grooming comb works well for combing out the eye gunk in the corners of my shih tzu's eyes. The teeth are fine enough to catch everything (a bit too fine for the tangles of his beard though). Much easier than using a flea comb to get into the small space where his nose meets his eyes. His smelly face has much improved now that his eyes are cleaner.

This really does the trick. I have a 13 yr. old wee wee pad dog and she's great at hitting the target but occasionally she has gone a little too close to the edge. I am a smell freak and nothing seemed to get rid of the very faint smell. I used this exactly as directed and it worked. I'm not sure if this is exactly the same measurement we have, ours if for a 90 lb dog. We keep our 16 lb dog in it during the day. It is easy to clean, sturdy, and the doors close easily. We found a clip on water bowl at a pet store, got a dog bed from Target, and she was set. I feel confident I can leave her in this crate, go to work, and she'll be safe and comfortable. We do have a plastic sheet under it in case of spills; it is on our carpet in the living room. This is a great product. I read the other review that said a dog demolished it. The crate seems very sturdy and well constructed, but our dog is small. She did manage to drag a kennel across the garage so she isn't a weakling, but I don't know if a bigger dog would be able to destroy this crate. We haven't had any problems and nothing has been bent, broken or otherwise destroyed.

The gate is tall and works well in the standard door jam I am using it in. I use it for my crazy chocolate lab, and it works well. I was concerned she would jump over the typical 36" gates. The 44" height was the main reason I bought it. When I took it out of the box a few screws were loose, and one was even stripped. A little chintzy when it is standing free, but is quote solid when in-place. The total quality is somewhat lacking, but it gets the job done.

I don't know if you have tried to find extra tall gates for a reasonable price, but I found it damn near impossible. I was quite excited when I stumbled upon this gate. My dog likes to jump and can leap over almost all regular sized gates. Luckily she won't even try with this one she knows she has no chance! It looks huge coming out of the box, but that's exactly what I wanted. It probably could a little higher in quality, but I have been more than pleased with this gate. I bought the gate because I needed to contain the cats that I foster to the back of the house (my resident kitty doesn't like other cats wandering the house and I foster about 30 cats a year for the local animal shelter). There is nothing fancy about this gate. It is the old standby "baby gate" that is taller than most. It is dependable, made well, and works just like you would expect. I found the price was good. But this gate, because it is taller than most, is not a gate you can climb over, which I think, if you are ordering tall to begin with, you probably realize. It needs to be used on a doorway that you don't use very often, because you'll have to remove it each and every time you want to go through the opening. Nothing wrong with that, just keep it in mind for where and when you plan to use it.

I ordered this product thinking that it was a 15ft chain ( because that's what the picture showed) because there was no mention of the length in the description.Then I recieved a 10ft chain for my order. When I e-mailed the seller they informed me that The product code was for a 10ft chain not a 15ft even though the picture was of the 15ft. They blamed it on amazon and said if I paid to mail it back then they was give me a 15ft on instead. I then e-mailed back and explained that it was not in any way my error and I souldn't have to pay for postage back and had asked for a pre postage self addressed envelope. This chain comes with hooks that can bend and since they are not coated the chain will pick up all the dirt and grass from your yard which in turns gets on to your dog. The swivel is not adequate to handle dogs that do a lot of movement so it can bind the chain up.

I bought this mostly because the hinges were on the opposite side from typical crates. From the feedback, it was hard to tell whether people liked it or not. It came quickly and is as nice as other crates out there. The price was hard to beat. One nit-pick: the tray seems slightly small for the crate--it doesn't quite fit all the way out to the very edge; but I use a pillow in there anyway, so this doesn't matter much to me. I bought this crate for my 3 year old Bichon Frise, Amos, who is nearly 18 lbs. He is a great dog who is house trained and very obedient. However, we got a new puppy recently and Amos started marking his territory around the house when I was away. This crate was a great solution for when we leave him home alone with the puppy.

The puppy has his own crate which is a slightly smaller. Sometimes we put them face-to-face so they can be with each other.

I would recommend this crate for any dog that is at knee height or slightly above or below. My Amos feels comfortable and safe inside and it is one of the best investments I have made for my baby.

Neither the back or sides have any support other than foam rubber. First time I put my 40lb. dog in it he fell off the back before going 20ft. and was hanging by his collar till he slipped out of it. "Includes harness to keep pet securely in seat". See note above about security. The harness is secured in the middle of the seat, really hard to hook up dog collar, needs to be on one side or the other. This product is not as claimed, and to return it costs 1/3 the original price plus a re-stocking fee. Never will buy from this seller again.

Product worked great, within a few days my dogs reoccurring skin irritation and scabs on his underbelly cleared. Product was sticky and got a little funky in his long hair, but brushed out easy enough after it dried. This product worked when antibiotics from the vet failed(several times). I bought an extra tube to keep on hand. Great all around healing cream.
