We purchased one of these beds about 12 years ago for an elderly outdoor cat's dog house home. He used it for five years before passing away at age 17. It then came indoors to be used by our other rescue cats. It still warms up quite nicely and looks beautiful after many, many washings. I'm buying another bed so that the cat who is using the first bed won't have to continue to endure the sad eyes of the cat who is waiting his turn.

We have our own cats, plus foster cats and rescue cats that come and go on a continual flowing basis. Many of our cats squish themselves into shoe boxes and other ridiculously small things, and almost every cat we've ever met makes a beeline for anything even remotely radiating heat. So, we bought four beds right off the bat, figuring there's no way we'd be making a mistake. And we were right. The cats were crawling into them within literal seconds after we unpacked them from the shipping box, when they were still on the kitchen counter and not even plugged in yet!

After we pried the cats out, we lined these up under a bank of wall-hung cabinets in our living room (we had measured to ensure the sides of this bed wouldn't be too high and prevent the cats from getting in and out no problem). As we were still setting them in place and plugging them in, every single one filled up.

It's been about a year and a half and I don't think the beds have EVER been empty. The cat gets out...another cat jumps in. One particular kitty, Jezebel, is pretty much truly and actually living in the bed. We see her slink out from the bedroom (where we moved two of the beds) to the kitchen to eat, then a few minutes later, after she's done eating, she heads right back into the bedroom. When we go in after her to look around, she's already back in one of the beds, every time. Jezebel was a street cat that had a hard life before we adopted her (she was feral when we got her; it's been a long haul to get her to trust us), so if she wants to spend the rest of her life doing nothing but lying and soaking up heat, that's fine with us :-)

Getting these beds also helped US in an indirect way, in that we had fewer cats sharing our bed at night. No more waking up with cricks in our necks, or leg cramps, from the cats getting us to twist ourselves into pretzel shapes in our sleep! Of course, since we only have four of these, and some of our cats both personal and fosters are pretty large, there's never enough of these beds to really go around. We've seen up to three smaller cats crammed into one bed (and looking content about it), but the big boned, or just plain fat, cats fill the bed up entirely. So we still have cats sharing our bed at night (not that we mind).

It's clear that we need to get more of these. The cats literally LOVE them, as just about every other review has stated. So we're trying to figure out other places we can put more of these, while keeping them out of the way of walk paths (a one bedroom condo doesn't have much spare space to begin with).

As for the heat part, the beds are just right for cats. Don't judge the heat level by human standards. The fact that so many reviews say that their cats don't leave these beds, or fight over them, is all the proof you need that K & H knows what cats like and want, and got it right. We've left all four beds plugged in non-stop since the day we got them (other than unplugging for washing the covers), and haven't had a single problem. Nor has our electric bill gone up in any noticeable way. We even leave them plugged in during the summer, as some cats again, either our own, or a guest or foster prefer heat temperatures that rival that of magma :-)

Bottom line if you have a cat (or cats), you will literally make their world if you get this for them. Sure, there will be some cats that will turn their nose up at it, but that's not the fault of the product; it's a matter of that cat being...a CAT! Meaning, they can be picky little buggers. But the vast majority of cats will either love these off the bat, or come to love them over time.

Once that happens, you'll never wonder where to find your cat(s) again. If you don't see them in the room you're in, just go check the beds :-)

This is easy to use, the cats love it. The covers can be removed to be washed which is a great feature. We have had it for a month, and no problems to report, so far. I did read in the reviews that it was too small for a large cat. One of ours is over 13 lbs and seems to have no problems curling up in this bed.

When I first tried to get my cat to sleep in the bed, she jumped right out and avoided it like the plague. I realized that this was just a case of education. She didn't know that it was nice and warm.

Here's what I did to get her to love it.

First, I put it a little higher up. Cats like being high and not on the ground.

When she was sleeping on the couch, I picked her up (still in a ball) and plunked her down into the bed. I kept petting her for a minute and then let go. She stayed.

I only needed to do that once. Now it's her preferred spot.

I grew tired of the wire crate I used for my miniature dachshund and I've been looking at these for awhile. She likes to be "covered" when in her crate and I used a blanket. This looks SO much better and provides her with the amount of security she needs. EASILY could hold a much larger dog certainly 2 maybe 3 mini dachshunds. It goes great between my two recliners in the den. Assembly was a breeze and it goes well with my Pottery Barn end tables. It is definitely a piece of furniture.

We bought this gate to keep our shi-tzu from running off the front porch while we're sitting out relaxing, and it does the trick nicely. It's a perfect solution for a non-permanet barrier. Set up is ridiculously easy, and the gate folds up nicely and can be put out of the way when you don't need it. Don't get me wrong, this isn't the type of gate that will keep in medium/large dogs or one that likes to jump--such as a terrier--but it's a great solution for most small dogs.

As a side note, the gate is untreated wood, so it's a snap for a DIYer to customize to fit their space with paint or stain--I stained and varnished ours for outdoor use. I don't know exactly what type of wood it's made out of, but it doesn't take stain as well as pine or oak, so use a shade or two darker than you think you want.

This gate has solved our problem with our 3 mini dachshunds running through our entire house. With the 3 panels, you are able to configure it to several positions. We have a wide opening in the hallway so this gate allows us to stand it at different angles. The dogs cannot jump over it, but it is low enough that we can step right over it. Our grandson is 8 years old and he had no problem stepping over it either. The great thing about this product is that you can just pick it up and fold it up and there's no stratching or scuffing of your walls or floors. Our dogs are not very happy, but I'm no longer cleaning up "accidents" down the hall.

I was skeptical about ordering this product because it didn't seem like it would be stable enough that it wouldn't tip over when stepping over it. I had been using the kind of gates that are supposed to be pressure mounted in the doorway, but we had been propping them up because we moved them around quite a bit. This gate was the solution we'd been looking for. My 8 year old Yorkie doesn't try to move it or jump over it (although he probably could jump over if he tried). We can step over it with ease and even if your toe catches on the top of it, it is stable enough that it doesn't tip. My kids and I have no trouble getting over it. I don't normally review products, but this gate is a lifesaver!

I appreciate how quickly I received the gate. It actually worked well for a couple of weeks, however my dog who is about 20 pounds learned how to move the gate on her own. I was hoping to use it when we were away from home to confine her to a certain part of the house. We do still use it when we are home to keep her from eating all of the cat's food so it is still somewhat useful. This way we don't have to keep as close an eye on her. I also like the fact that I can step over it easily but she does not jump it. If I had to do it over again, I would not have purchased this particular gate. It would be better for a very small dog.

i love when you get a product and you don't have to assemble it. this gate folded out, looks nice, no screwing (unless you want to lock the angle in place which i don't care to do) and setups up within 1 minute. i would give it a 4 because i didn't realize how short it was, but that was my own fault, so i give it a 5. although, it keeps my terrier contained yet lets the cat jump right over it. perfect for my situation

I bought this item as soon as it was released. I work long hours and while my two cats usually keep each other entertained, I wanted something that they could play with without needing my interaction.

My cats took a few minutes to warm up to it, but once they realized what it was, they would sit and watch the mouse, paw at it, etc..

There is a timer that you can set so that when you are at work, the toy alerts the cats to come and play by giving off a bird chirping sound!

I used to set it to go on every hour.

One tipyou may have to give the kitties a break from this every couple of days. Once they get used to the toy, they get bored with it.

I turn it on now every 2-3 days.

I think the manufacturer should create one with a longer track for the mouse to travel on.. Overall I think its a good item.

We've had the Mouse in the House toy for just about a month now, and our cat still sits rapt for long stretches, waiting for the mouse to come out again. She hasn't learned to deliberately activate it by herself yet, but recently she's done it accidentally several times, and it seems likely that she'll put two and two together soon and learn to press the big red button on purpose. The mouse is remarkably durable, withstanding fierce pounces, being held back and prevented from escaping, and being dragged out of its hole by force. This is her favorite toy by a mile.

I have two 5 month old kittens who absolutely love this little gadget, however after only two short days the mouse would no longer stay on the track. There's a door you can open in the back to re-attach the mouse, however having to do this 4x a day isn't convenient. The motor is loud, the electronics get messed up and you have to switch the unit off and on to get it to work. Needs improvement and price is too high. Customer Service is excellent and very helpful.

I bought this toy earlier in the month for my indoor-only cat. My cat loved playing with it the first week, although she never went crazy with it like other cats did as seen on the web videos. Two weeks later, the motor got extremely loud and high pitched whenever the mouse would make its run on the track. I checked the mouse and the track and found nothing abnormal or broken. The motor noise has gotten so bad now, my cat refuses to go near the toy when it is on.

Unless your cat is immune to loud noises, I cannot really recommend this toy to fellow cat lovers unless the company comes out with a better, less noisy and more durable motor (especially at this purchase price).

My cat ADORES this toy. As soon as the mouse chirps, she appears and hovers over the house. She'll plant herself on the tracks to block the mouse and will drag the house all over, hoping to get that wily mouse when it disappears.

When it broke after a year of heavy use, I had to buy a replacement because my cat was heartbroken without it.

This is a nice toy to have for automation. I wish there was a way to set track repetitions or time. Often, my cat likes to play with it for four-five rounds and the timer setting will only send the mouse around twice.

Expensive? Yes. But it's durable and gets much use, so I think it's worth the price.

I have several acres that are heavily wooded and lots of ticks!. When we tried frontline we had ticks all over the house. The vet suggested certifect. Works great. The ticks die on our dog and are not in the house anymore. It does have a strong smell, but it does not seem to last. We have not noticed any side effects. We have not seen any flees on her. I highly recommend this product.

Cheap Petmate Pet Porter 2 , For Pets 30 to 50 Pounds, Camp

This is working out very well for my 8-month old lab/heeler mix. She is a little smaller than I would expect for her breed and age (around 30 pounds now) so the kennel is larger than we probably need -I think it would accomodate many dogs up to 50 pounds as a travel crate. It is so hard to guess the size correctly when ordering over the Internet! But she is comfortable inside, so no one complains. The kennel is easy to assemble. The door does not line up perfectly, and I have several times THOUGHT that it was latched when either the top or bottom was not quite set. For that reason, when we travel with this kennel, I double and triple zip-tie the door to make sure it is secure. The kennel is also not convenient to move when the dog is inside, as there are no easy places to grab hold. This is not the sturdiest kennel I have owned, but it does the job. I always ask to watch my dog get loaded onto the plane because I am a little nervous about how this kennel is handled. I will probably purchase a sturdier travel kennel once she is full-grown and I know what size we will need for sure. This is an excellent kennel in the mean-time, especially for the price, and is definitely all anyone would need for home and car use. One note: the dark color of the kennel makes it difficult to see my dog inside sometimes. The positive side of that is that she sleeps well in her cozy, dark den. The negative side is that, when she is actually being transported, I pretty much have to have a flashlight or take her out of the kennel (if allowed) to check on her! I didn't realize the benefit of white/light kennels until I got this one.

GREAT PRODUCT! I've tried some other brands and didn't have much luck. My energetic Pitbull was an escape artist in some of the wireframe cages... I resorted to using zipties and steel carabiners to keep that one shut. This crate has held up so well that I actually purchased a second one for use at work. Our dog is about 45lbs and she has just enough space to stand up, turn around, etc.

It is as sturdy as it needs to be, unless you have an escape artist type dog that hates being in a crate and really wants out, but then a dog like that would be hard to keep in any crate. But it assembled easily and it is great for our needs.

I've bred and shown Shelties for a number of years. I prefer this collar to all others for training; it's much safer than a regular choke collar but offers some of the same precise feedback and control for the dog. In addition, a puppy or "balky" dog can't back up and literally back out of this collar. It's lightweight, and I actually like the metal chain "live ring" section better than the all-nylon martingales. It's easier to see what you're doing and where to hook the leash; there's no question as to which section goes over the dog's head; and the links are a lot more flexible than the straight nylon, especially in the larger sizes. A winner.

The collar looked nice when it was new, but after a couple of months the chrome finish started to flake off and the fur on my dog's neck was turning black from the chain rubbing on it -even though the collar was not too tight. Decided to go with a martingale collar without the chain.

This is a great training collar much better than the chocker chain, the nylon gives the dog protection around his neck and the chain provides what you need to correct them. As for sizing the medium is more than enough for a large dog I have a German Shepherd 80lbs fits great with room to make bigger, I did have a large one but it was way to big and couldn't make it small enough to fit correctly, medium will fit most big dogs.

My trainer told me about this product, and after a month's use I can report that it is terrific. The collar looks and feels like quality and looks nice on my Golden.

When adjusted properly it doesn't choke (it does tighten), it makes a sound reminding/conditioning them to pay attention, and it won't fall off.

This type of collar was new to me. These are also called greyhound or humane collars. We have a Sheltie, and her head is small in relation to her neck, so she can pull her head right out of anything but a choke collar or a halter. The Martingale collar pulls tight when needed, but is more comfortable for the dog because most of the collar is made of fabric instead of chain. This works like a charm, and would have also been great for my miniature pinscher (skinny neck, small head).

Update: she did pull her head out of the collar once, at just the right angle when the collar was relaxed. I still like the style much better than a choke chain.

Pugs are notoriously fast eaters. My youngest pug has choked on his food twice because a) he eats so fast and b) he doesn't bother to chew. This bowl doesn't solve the chewing issue, but it has certainly slowed him down.

I only gave 4 stars because I think the bowl with the knobs would be better suited for pugs. It's a little too hard for him to get to his food due to the dividers. I think this bowl works better for dogs with actual snouts.

My pug would probably give it 1 star. He is not too happy with this bowl. Every time I set it down in front of him, he looks at me like, "Seriously? We're still doing this?" But at least there's no more worries about him choking! (Until he figures out how to turn it over)

I have 4 beagles and these bowls have really helped with them not gobbling thier food down, especailly when they are all together, afraid that one will get the others. It holds about 1 cup on the med size bowl even though I only give them 1/2 cup twice a day.

This bowl is sturdy with grippy feet. It does slow down my dog but it is best used sitting in the middle of the floor without anything he can push it against. Otherwise, once he can push the bowl against the wall or other object, he can really dig in and resume his speed eating. I am still not totally satisfied but the bowl is better than a regular one. This jumbo size is recommended for my Rottweiler. The large size is way too small.

My dogs (1 5month old and 1 7year old) both got diarrhea and vomitting after eating these treats. They liked them a lot when we bought them, but within a week both dogs had upset stomachs. When the puppy was sick we assumed she had just gotten into something, but she had diarrhea for 3 days and then had blood in her stool. When we took her to the vet they could not attribute it to anything specific. When the older dog got sick a day after eating one of these we concluded it must be the bones. She has never been sick enough to warrant any medications before and we are putting her on medicine and prescription food to get over this. DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Piper's dental surgeon advised us never to give our dogs chew bones that were not flexible. These bones are a little harder than I would like, but they are more flexible than some chew bones.

I bought these for my dogs on a whim at the pet store. When I gave them each one after I got home, they loved them. They chewed through about half a bone each the first night. The next morning I took them out and they both had the worst diarrhea I've ever seen a dog have! It was off-white (the color of the bone) which makes me question the validity of the claim that it is more digestible than rawhide. I'm definitely sticking to rawhide from here on out. These bones are horrible.

My lab has a pretty sensitive stomach, and can't handle rawhide well, so I decided to try these. First of all, it is quite brittle, and she finished it in less than a minute. When she bit into it, it broke into shards. Later that night, she starts vomiting heavily, which she hasn't done a single time since I first got her over a year ago. Love the top and front loading options with this carrier. However, there are 2 suspension bars that have to be put into place to give the carrier some structure and 1 one them snapped on half on the the first attempt to place it. There were no instructions in the box or seller contact info. Amazon contacted me promptly with 3 fair options to resolve the broken part issue. I just took this camping for 5 days and it was fine. Not great and not bad. it doesnt stay completely open, but my dog can still get in. i liked that it could be folded and put into my portable dog food container. i didnt use it for water, only food.
