80" Premium Extra Large Cat Tree Review
We have 2 large rescued cats and we also foster for a local rescue. In other words, we are a VERY active house for kitties! We've had several large pieces like this for +3 years from another brand (Armarkat). They've been great but we wanted to add some more similar pieces around the house (we have to do this slowly, due to how expensive they are). The perches and scratching posts have always been very popular in our home. I figured this would be great and bought it because it was a little cheaper than our usual brand and it looked very similar. I put this together 2 days ago without problem. Even though it isn't super heavy, I recently had surgery and got my husband's help to move it because I'm not supposed to lift things. We didn't make it a foot before one of the top 3 posts that holds up one of the 3 top platforms broke about 3 inches from the bottom. Under the rope/sisal is lightweight cardboard. I wondered if it was our fault, if we had moved it in some way we hadn't realized (even though we had been ginger with it). We just unscrewed that broken post and figured we'd live with 2 perches just fine. We try a lot of stuff with the kitties and make just about anything work for us. This morning, I woke up to find the post with the lower little round house on it had also broken 3 inches from the bottom, so that post and the house was down and the cardboard again broken in half. There is no way to re-attach the cardboard or to try to fix it you just have to remove the whole post. Has been the worst pet purchase we've made. At this rate, it will be unusable soon and I will have to throw away a piece of cat furniture for the first time, and one that we haven't even had up a week to boot! So disappointed!
I got this tree for my new baby kitten. It was Very easy to put together and is quite sturdy once completed and taking it back apart and rearranging the posts is very simple too!
When I first got it I was concerned that my kitten would have a very hard time getting to and from the big top platform, at the time when we received it she was only 5 weeks old (she was abandoned by her mother and left at my vet office) and could still barely scale the lower platforms. Now at 10 weeks old she runs up and down the entire tree dozens of times a day, and she Loves sleeping in the little hammock, she is also fond of the dangling mice but my husband accidently pulled one off while playing with her.
I can see the small platforms being much too small for a large cat though, but that is really the only thing I consider wrong with it, and since I got it for my one little kitty its perfect for me! Here she is playing on it.
The price of this unit is great ($48 when I purchased). The cost of shipping, however, is as much as the unit. But, if you were going to pay that much for shipping anyway due to the weight of a typical cat tree, it makes sense to get the better priced unit.
QUALITY:
Fantastic. I was really impressed with the quality for the price of this unit. The base piece is heavy and holds up the pieces well. The carpeting is of good quality (mine was very soft when I opened it) and has that new carpet smell. I read the reviews that some people's cats ripped off the dangling mice within minutes. I was worried about their longevity as they seem cheap, but it's been a week and my 11lb. cat hasn't pulled them off, nor has my 8lb. cat and they play with them constantly; they must contain some catnip.
ASSEMBLY:
All the pieces are jumbled into one giant box and arrived in good condition with nothing broken. I removed each one and put them in groups of similar shape/sized pieces first. Some of the pieces were inside the little houses and it was a quick game of Tetris to get them out, but nothing was damaged in the process. There are two sizes of posts (25cm and 40cm) and four types of platforms. There is a little diagram on a one page sheet of paper inside the hardware pack (with the screws) that serves as the "instructions." While there weren't labels on the individual pieces, I found it very simple to match them to the diagram. It took me about 30 minutes to complete unpacking and assembly.
Note 1: The long screws go in best with the shorter demarcated half down; they'll stop when you've gotten halfway, whereas if you do it with the longer demarcated half down, it keeps screwing all the way through. The unit was secured with an allen wrench, also provided.
Note 2: Each piece has holes in the wood portion, but not in the carpeting portion. I suggest going through with a letter opener or scissors and just punching the hole through the carpet. I makes assembly go smoother if you don't have to do it piece by piece.
Note 3: I built from the bottom up, which proved to be a good strategy, and saved the front cylindrical house for last as it was difficult to reach over each time to get to the back pieces. For the top three tiers, I recommend putting the platforms on the posts before putting the posts on the rest of the unit, because my ceiling is only about a foot above the tallest piece and it would be difficult to get up there without a ladder (I'm only 5'8").
USAGE: One of my cats is more timid (8lb.) that the other (11lb.) and she was not wary of jumping on the platforms at all. She won't go in the houses just yet, but she's really partial to the basket piece. Some people wrote how this piece isn't useful or isn't supported as much, but I found that if you screw it in tightly, it holds quite well. The more curious cat (11lb.), jumps all over the whole thing and it doesn't shake at all. I was impressed as it seems very solid. Again, really good quality for the price and good quality in general for a cat tower.
Heavier cat loves the houses and the top two platforms that flank the highest one. Neither one of them has usefulness for the rope, unless I'm making it move, but it's a nice addition (maybe they'll play with it later).
It fits nicely in the corner of a room. I wish it came in different colors, but the beige does the trick for now. I worry over time that it'll get dirty.
BOTTOM LINE: Get it.

The center piece (with hole in middle) had begun to sag inward a little bit because the cats had used it as a jumping off point so many times. It also began to shake when they jumped on it as the screws The base remained sturdy and the cats were very sad to see it go! We will have to order a new one of this same brand because they loved it. The stratchy pieces with the rope remained in great condition, even after excessive use. The rope remained unused--haha, just not their thing. The beige did get dirty, but mostly it was covered in cat hair. We vacuumed it regularly, but it seemed to collect hair at an alarming rate. Still recommend it with 4+ stars!

The only positive thing about the cat tree is it was cheap in price and the cats like it. Other than that, it is poorly designed, and i had to take off the lower part of the condo because there was only one screw holding it together and was very wobbly. I have four cats. They are very active and love to play. I had been looking for a cat condo for some time but found that to get the size that I wanted it was well over $200! Even at Christmas time, PetSmart and Petco did not come close to the deal I got through Amazon. I paid less than a $100. The quality was unbelievable. Just as good as what you see in the stores. It was easy to assemble. Me and my 14 year old put it together without an problems. I would recommend this to anyone.

Discount Lovely Pet House Dog Kennel Cat Beds Soft Cushion Inside Warm Room
It's as pictured and for small pets. I'd say no more than 10-15 lbs. unless they like it really cozy. It's great for my kitten and big enough for her to sleep in when she gets older. The delivery was so fast!! It took only about 2 weeks and it's from China so I wasn't expecting the quick delivery. Great price for the product and as an added bonus we got a free collar as a gift. It was a nice surprise albeit not a very pretty design blue stripes with green glitter. Not my thing but hey, it's free, can't really complain lol. Just be careful to cut slowly around the wrapped plastic because item didn't arrive in a box but wrapped plastic.

Buy Tinkle Belts, Size Small (14-17" waist)
We have never been able to keep our small, male dog from urinating in the house. He'll go in the house even with the back door wide open! Even when we put wee pads in his favorite indoor spots, he'd use those AND find new places to go. We couldn't set anything on the floor, had to take up all rugs and carpets, continuously wipe down or wash furniture. We then tried various types and brands of diapers and "male wraps." Most slipped or leaked (even when we inserted sanitary pads in them) so that they did not contain the urine, and none really fit him comfortably or well. Finally we tried the Tinkle Belt, and it worked! It fits him very well and he seems not to even notice it's on (in others he'd walk sideways, or refuse to walk at all). A sanitary pad fits perfectly in it, and it covers without slipping.
It also seems to be the only thing so far that has given him a clue about housetraining! We take it off when he goes outside, and put it on him at all times when he is inside. When we first put it on, he wet it frequently. After a couple of days, we noticed it was dry more than it was wet. It seems that he doesn't like to feel wet, and so is learning to wait to go outside. Yay!
We liked the first belt we ordered so much that we decided to order a couple of spare belts. I accidentally ordered the wrong size, and when I asked to exchange or return and reorder in the right size, the seller offered to send the right size and asked that I donate the too-small belts I'd mistakenly ordered to the humane society in hopes of helping dogs with elimination problems keep or find homes.
A simply outstanding product by an outstanding seller.
My old man thanks you also, he is able to enjoy being with his people again!

This lil belt has suceeded in keeping me sane after another Pom taught mine how to "mark"! He isn't fixed yet because his testes haven't dropped (vet wants to wait til he's a yr and a half old) so I put on his tinkle belt and he is good to go! I have a 17 year old male dog who is amazingly hanging in there, except for his frequent urination. No matter how often we take him out he cannot hold his bladder. Most of the time he doesn't even realize he's going. He'll be walking across the living room while peeing and not even realize it. We adopted a Bichon who is a marker. We didn't realize it until it was too late and had to have a sofa recovered! We were at our wits end as there is not stopping our dog's behavior except having him on a lease 24/7. That isn't an option, obviously. I have purchased several other kinds of pads, belts, etc. and this brand is by far my favorite. I just placed an order for 6 more so I have a clean one daily or as needed. I put a Poise pad in each one to help absorb. He still marks everyday but at least now it doesn't get on anything. The Tinkle Belts are soft and easy to wash and dry. The DO SHRINK!! I originally ordered a medium, but after being in the dryer it is now too small around to put a pad in it. The mediums can be used alone, but a pad is better for our dog. I have now gone up to the large size (even though he measured a medium). He is a 20 lb. Bichon/Poodle mix and the large are perfect. They wash up nicely and are soft and easy to put on and take off. The quality of the product is nice, however, if you have a dog who likes to chew, it will figure out how to pull the soft cloth fabric through the crate cage and once they do, you're kind of hosed. It might be better to get something that has a flatter, sturdier fit to the crate.

This is just what I was looking for. My puppy did not really like the crate until we put this cover on it, and it turned into a snuggly cave and now he goes in there to sleep even when the crate is left open. Other deterrents depend on your presence and your ability to swiftly respond and match "penalty" with the crime...cats soon come to realize that as soon as you can't see or hear their mischief, it's party time! But StayAway works 24/7...whether you're there to catch 'em in the act or not! Cats otherwise used to doing as they please the second you leave the place or shut your eyes soon learn...the punishment comes whether or not you're there! Eventually they become too scared to even go near that part of the room...at any time. It's an effective form of training that does pets no harm.
If you have problems with cats on counters, cats in houseplants, whatever, set this can near or on what you're trying to protect and you will have problems no more. Eventually you won't even need it turned on at all...the very sight of the thing will keep them away! (And if they ever figure out that trick and start giving you trouble again, just turn it back on until the problem ends!) It may be more expensive than squirt bottles or double-stick tape, but IT WORKS! Get it this Christmas (or any other time of year) and finally have peace of mind!

I got one of these several months ago to keep the cat off the counters. As far as i know, it's working. I never see the cat up there. It also keeps the dogs out of any area or room i don't want them in.When i first read about this concept on the web, i read about the SSSCAT product by Premier and i came to Amazon to buy it, but i read reviews in which the users reported that there was an older version of the product that had both a sound alarm and the spray of air, with the option to use sound only. SSSCAT was advertised as having both features, but users reported it had air spray only, no alarm. Apparently no one updated the page on Amazon after they discontinued the alarm. There were disappointed reviewers complaining that the product was not correctly described in the ad, and also, that the alarm option was not available anymore.
I really wanted the alarm, with the option of sound only. The spray uses up the supply of air pretty fast, and then it costs $20 including shipping to get another can of air, that doesn't last very long. I was very disappointed that the Premier product took this feature away. That's when a search led to the discovery of StayAway. True enough, the spray ran out very quick when i first got it. I had to buy a new one and during the long period between buying the refill and receiving it, there was no continuity of the cat's training. But since then, i have used mostly the alarm/sound only and not the spray, and have not run out of spray again, after a very long time, months.
I began worrying that it would wear out and that the product would be discontinued, and also, i wanted to position more of them in different parts of the house, so i just bought two more today.
In other words, i think they're great.

After considerable review of the different manufacturers of this type of product I chose Contech specifically because their customer reviews indicated it was a better product, i.e. better quality, performance, etc. compared to the competition. I'll relate my experience and let you be the judge. I ordered two of the StayAway Pet Deterrents and they arrived promptly. The product is easy to assemble and place into immediate use. However the motion sensors on both units proved to be hypersensitive. Instead of limiting their sensing range out to 3 feet (the manufacturer's specifications) they detected movement and activated at a range clear out to 15 feet. So now you can't walk through our living room at all without them activating. I contacted customer service who were very friendly and the rep told me she had not heard of such a problem and would consult with one of their engineers and call me back which she did in a timely fashion. She stated that the engineer indicated that it was a bad sensor within the unit and they promptly shipped me 2 new units at no cost. I now have 4 units and they all have the same exact problem. They all fire at a range out to 15 feet. Unfortunately in my case the excess sensing range renders them very impractical unless I want to be purchasing the expensive refill canisters every week and putting up with the annoying blast every time we walk through the living room (high traffic area). I'm sure that the product normally works as advertised. Every manufacturer produces a lemon from time to time. After all the great reviews from other purchasers, I figured I'd give it a go. I bought the thing, set it up, and placed it in the doorway to my kitchen. The cat either walks right past it or the stupid "cat deterrent" goes off like three seconds after the cat has walked in front of it. How is that supposed to help the cat stay out of an area?Cons:

Cat basically has to walk in front of it and STAND THERE for anything to happen.
Expensive for value provided (none).
Pros:
Can be used to clean dust from computers.

I have had the most exciting experience with this product to train my cat. I mean, I love her to death, but sometimes she is such a pain. She thinks this house is hers, and she allows us to live here. I finally broke down and got this because although she feels as though she has to lay on every surface in the house, there are some places that I don't want her to lay. The places that I want to keep her off of are the counters and food prep areas... WOW! Does this work! She'll prowl around in the middle of the night, and we'll hear PSST! Followed by jumping kitty ruckus. And that will make you laugh out loud in bed! This product may be scary, but it is safe. My only warning... be prepared to forget that the unit's on the counter in the morning. If you don't disarm it, you will be frightened by a sudden PSST! and may have a heart attack or incontinence. 4 out of 4 pups prefer CET chews over these. They just aren't excited about these chews. They taste them, leave them around the house and may or may not get around to them again. These things are awesome. They really help keep the tartar off our standard poodle's teeth to lengthen the time between professional cleanings (to be avoided due to the need for anesthesia). Medium is perfect for her size; the vet recommended the small-sized chew, but our dog swallowed those too quickly without totally chewing them. Because our dog doesn't like having her teeth brushed, the chews supplement her teeth cleaning because she gnaws on the chews much longer than she allows us to brush.BTW the old container of chews said VET hexadent -the new one says VET dentahex.

Review of Nutritious Diabetic Dog Cookies All Natural Dog Treats
I have been purchasing diabetic cookies from The Old Dog Cookie Company for my 13 year old rhodesian/doberman for the last 6 years. She was diagnosed with diabetes 7 years ago and has to take 2 shots of insulin a day. I was so thrilled to find a treat for her that is homemade of natural products for diabetic dogs, as there is nothing else like it out there! (And even if there was, I would never stop buying from them as they are the nicest, kindest people I've ever met by phone as I live in California and they're in Maine!). Oh and by the way my dog Princess LOVES them!! P.S., I buy the 5lb bulk as I have a large dog and they last longer.

Dog loves them. Great replacement from her regular treats before she became diabetic. Our dog also got SARDS which left her blind. She is 10 years old and other wise in good health. This is a great product for a diabetic dog. Our little westie loves them. We give him a cookie after he has his shot and now he actually comes to me for his shot just to get a treat. My all white Schnauzer was recently diagnosed with diabetes and we've had to make major changes in his diet. There are a few other snacks out there for diabetic dogs but these cookies came out on top big time. These toys are among the best plush dog toys out there, and we've tried several. I don't think any are truly "indestructible" since there's always a dog somewhere that will defy that claim, but these are well made and worth buying for the majority of dogs. Just be *sure* to buy the size that suits your dog; don't buy one too small that can be swallowed easily! Dr. Noys' toys are great in that they always include an extra squeaker in the pack, and the toy squeaker is easily replaceable in its hidden velcro pouch. (Squeakers are not indestructible; that's why they include an extra. But the advantage here is that they are very secure, and can't be eaten.) You can even buy separate packages of squeakers if your dog is tough on plush toys. Or you can remove the squeaker if it drives you crazy! ;-) In the larger sizes you can replace the squeaker with a tennis ball for active dogs.
Pay attention to the sizes listed: extra-small is really small, best for only the tiniest toy breeds or for small puppies. Medium will work for most dogs, but if your dog is a shredder, loves to destroy plush toys, only get the large sizes. If you have certain breeds, like Staffordshire terriers and bull dogs, then perhaps another toy would be a wiser choice. You know your dog.
So if you're tired of buying so-called "dog toys" that are really glorified baby toys and easily destroyed, try these. Ours have lasted for two years with hard play, only replacing the squeakers. Even better, they're usually included in the Amazon 4-for-3 promotion, so you can get one free if you buy four (smaller sizes)! That way you can test out different designs, or save one for later. I ordered this product and the Yellow ones they sell for my mini dachshunds. These are VERY, VERY tiny. NOT AS DESCRIBED. More suited for a very small young puppy. I have contacted the seller by email THREE times with no response. Do yourself a favor order from someone else. These folks don't gave a damn. A sale seems to be a sale and they do not care about the customer being happy. No customer service.
