Who ever designed this gate has no clue what to expect from a 1 year old child. This gate is all look and no function. It looks great when you install it but had no strenght to resist a 13 month old child from pushing it in the middle and almost breaking it. If you plan on buying this gate be prepared to do a little bit of drilling and bolting to make it work. I was finally able to use the thing only after I bought four #8-32 x 1 3/4" long screws with matching washers and nuts and bolted the middle of the gate together. I did this by unscrewing the original connection at the middle of the gate and overlapped the pieces together about 6" then drilling two holes about 4" apart on the top and bottom rails and bolting together. It works! But it's not what someone should have to do after spending thie price for something. Good luck!!!

I recently purchased this gate, as I needed a gate for a space that is 93 inches wide. I was so happy when I found this, and for the price! Well, I installed it with no problem at all. But it is not secure. It actually bends forward and backward with barely any pressure and when my daughter leaned against it, the wooden dowels that hold the bars together actually started to break. AWFUL and very unsafe!!! Target.com was very helpful in sending UPS to pick it up.

I recently purchased this gate for an opening in my home that is 68 inches wide. Within one week of use, the wood splintered apart in the center rendering it completely unusable. I am returning the gate and puchasing the more expensive metal type. This gate is a perfect example of getting what you pay for.

When it comes to using this for your children you'd have to first know what your needs are. I can't imagine it stopping any determined child without some reinforcing; it would be more like a psychological barrier. But depending on their temperament and age it may be good to deter them from getting to things they shouldn't have.

I ordered this to use for my puppy. In my case I don't have the problem of her pushing on it so I can't say how long it would last through that. For this price I was quite happy with the quality and it was amazingly simply to install.

This is the worst ( and most expensive) dog toy I have ever purchased. My 50lb dog shook it once and the wing flew off leaving a gaping hole in the side of it. You know what that means. The toy was dead in 20 seconds. I have contacted Amazon for a refund. Save your money and have them demolish a cheap toy, it will take the same amount of time.

The penguin is cute, but not as squishy as my dog likes. He killed the squeaker within the first five minutes. The body lasted maybe a month, but it wasn't my dog's favorite toy. I'm not sure it's worth the price, but it's probably as good as a fuzzy toy gets.

This is a great dog toy! Although I can't exactly call the sound it makes a baaa... more like a waaaak... but still it's fun... roly poly and soft so it's easy to carry around... I'm a dog trainer for a local rescue, and was asked to test this product as a means of helping our volunteers walk the dogs that pull so hard they're hurting themselves or the humans. Harnesses are not an option for most shelters due to disease control methods...we must unfortunately (for now) use the harsh nylon leashes we can bleach multiple times a day. Anyway...after reading instructions and testing this device on almost 50 dogs (we have more but those were our 'pullers') ....let me tell you...there is NO effect on pulling on any of these dogs. Not one. Not after a solid two week attempt. About one third of the dogs do seem to hear the device indicated by a head tilt or ear twitch. But a reduction in pulling? Zilch. Save your money for more effective training aides...or buckle down and do it with positive training alone.

I did not test this device as a training aide for any other commands, as the literature states it could also be used. I tested pulling only.

We have two dogs an 8 month old puppy and a 6 year old. Neither dog responded to the "DOG-e-walk".

This device is supposed to emit an annoying/irritating sound that only dogs can hear. The annoying

sound can then be used to help correct behavior problems. The literature primarily focuses on using

this device when walking a dog to prevent the dog from pulling. But, the literature and manual also

state this thing can be used as a hand-held trainer to correct barking and other bad behavior your

little buddies exhibit.

We had intended to use the hand-held aspect of it to correct some undesirable behavior but obviously,

with the dogs not reacting, that didn't work. I have read other reviews of this product that say it

worked for them re: the leash pulling aspect. I submit it is possible the dog *may* have decreased or

stopped pulling, but it may be for other reasons than the animal hearing some annoying sound. Perhaps

the presence of this thing hanging off their collar upsets/disorients them. Perhaps it does emit a

sound that some dogs can hear and it merely confuses them therefore reducing the leash pulling. I

dunno.

What I do know for sure is our two dogs of different breeds, different ages and sizes, both pure-bred

with no hearing deficiencies did not react to this thing. What are the odds of this happening?

Now I submit one more item for the viewing public: there's a definite "catch 22" here.

You're supposed to fasten this thing between the dog's collar and your leash. Here's a basic problem

I have: if you're a dog lover and your dog is pulling so bad you want to buy this device the first

thing I'd do is buy a harness. The constant pulling and strain the collar induces (on the dog's neck)

is not good for your canine friend. Plus, I have seen some dogs wriggle free of a collar and get loose.

Even if you got a big powerful dog, it can strain/hurt his/her neck. And, if you're already using a

choke chain or similar item, why would you be buying this thing anyway? A harness is safer, won't

put this undue pressure on the neck, and much, much harder (if not impossible) to wriggle out of.

But, the dog-e-walk is not designed to work with a harness, so there lies the rub, my friend. Save

some bucks buy (or check-out from local library) a good dog training book.

So, in the end, the only annoying sound my dawgs (and me) heard was the scratch of the pen writing a check

to my credit card account to pay for this thing that don't work.

In any case, I believe I was rip-e-offed by the DOG-e-walk . Thumbs (and paws) down on this product.

The Dog-e-walk was a disappointment. I followed the instructions exactly as stated but it proved not to work for my dog. I started out with level one intensity and worked up to the highest level which is number four. My dog still barked and pulled when another dog approached us. It may work for some dogs but unfortunately it did not work for mine.

So I bought this item and tried it out. My 1 year old husky would cock his head to the side, then go back to whatever he was doing. Even on the highest setting. It was obvious he could hear it, but just didn't care. I will say it appeared to work on my neighbors dog that barked. So maybe each dog is individual. Luckily the pet store took it back. My recommendation is if you want to try it out buy it somewhere you can take it back.

My male malamute (about 1 year old) broke the thing. He's strong. It did give me hope so it was really placebo. It worked at first. He did indeed hear it and did pay attention. That didn't last all that long. Familiarity breeds contempt. Had to keep turning the dial up. Finally the end broke right off. I'm really glad the dog didn't run away. He sure could have.

I buy different types of treats for my dogs and keep them all in a large Rubbermaid container on top of the fridge. The dogs go nuts every time I reach for that box. I think they enjoy the variety because after I give them their treat they still look at me like "what else is she gonna give us" and sometimes I swear it's more like "but mom, I don't like that kind, I want the other one".

I mix all kinds of mainly dental treats together in the box. Rawhide sticks (all colors and flavors, not just green ones), Greenies, Dingos, CET and also use some rawhide bones. These treats help scrape plaque from their teeth while chewing before tarter can form if given after meals or once a day. My dogs do not get soft food or treats unless we are training. Saving soft treats for training makes them want it all the more and the hard food is better for their teeth and digestion.

I have a Miniature Pinscher and 2 Pomeranians that are prone to tooth loss so taking care of their teeth is very important to me. My oldest Pomeranian is 6 years old and just had his first professional cleaning and that was mainly because it is hard for me to get his back teeth because his mouth is so tiny.

They love when they see the bag of treats come out of the cupboard because they now it's the soft stuff or the small one bite treats and they are more receptive to training and their sessions go much faster.

I would recommend these treats as part of a variety. Mix it up so your dog doesn't get bored and use different shapes to get different angles on their teeth.

I bought these because they are low calorie, so I can stuff a bunch into Poodle's treat puzzles without feeling guilty. He LOVES the cheese flavor (the only one I have tried so far). He stays quiet when being groomed if given liberal amounts of them. Great amount in the bag for the price too. According to their page on FaceBook, they are only 3 calories per treat. In the video you can see Poodle getting treats out of a bottle, it is a mix of kibble, some Costless Pet Treats Duck Breast Fillets, 32-Ounce and Charlee Bear Cheese and Egg treats. You can see that the treats fit whole into the opening of the bottle, so they are not all that big. This is a fun way to get him some mental exercise and I watch him so he doesn't chew up the bottle.

These are the perfect size for training but they are not to be confused with actual "treats." These are more like you-did-a-good-job-buddy tokens. My dog will eat them happily, but he does not get excited about them, and my dog gets very excited by most anything edible (and some things non-edible).

I'd get them again, but only if the price was much lower than it currently is ($8.60). I think $3-4 would be a reasonable price for what you get.

The chain link is quite flimsy and was not crimped closed on the ends causing quite a few of the 'runs' to come undone and shift up or down in the span of the chain link. It took me more time to unroll and repair the chain link than it did to build the structure. Also my 14 pound border terrier has been able to bend the chain link allowing him to make holes big enough at the base of the chain link to escape. I have had to repair multiple spots to keep our dog contained.

Overall I would give the structure and gate 5 stars and the chain link 1 star.

The chain link fence itself was not a strong as I would have like considering the cost of the kennel. Our doberman puppy was able to peel back the chain link provided in the kit even after my husband added additional ties to secure the chain link to the posts. We finally gave up and went to the local hardware store to buy stronger chain link which seems to have corrected the issue we were having with her being able to pull it apart and get out of the kennel on her our. The gate and latch portion of the kennel is top notch!!

Cats otherwise used to doing as they please the second you leave the place or shut your eyes soon learn...the punishment comes whether or not you're there! Eventually they become too scared to even go near that part of the room...at any time. It's an effective form of training that does pets no harm.

If you have problems with cats on counters, cats in houseplants, whatever, set this can near or on what you're trying to protect and you will have problems no more. Eventually you won't even need it turned on at all...the very sight of the thing will keep them away! (And if they ever figure out that trick and start giving you trouble again, just turn it back on until the problem ends!) I got one of these several months ago to keep the cat off the counters. As far as i know, it's working. I never see the cat up there. It also keeps the dogs out of any area or room i don't want them in.

When i first read about this concept on the web, i read about the SSSCAT product by Premier and i came to Amazon to buy it, but i read reviews in which the users reported that there was an older version of the product that had both a sound alarm and the spray of air, with the option to use sound only. SSSCAT was advertised as having both features, but users reported it had air spray only, no alarm. Apparently no one updated the page on Amazon after they discontinued the alarm. There were disappointed reviewers complaining that the product was not correctly described in the ad, and also, that the alarm option was not available anymore.

I really wanted the alarm, with the option of sound only. The spray uses up the supply of air pretty fast, and then it costs $20 including shipping to get another can of air, that doesn't last very long. I was very disappointed that the Premier product took this feature away. That's when a search led to the discovery of StayAway. True enough, the spray ran out very quick when i first got it. I had to buy a new one and during the long period between buying the refill and receiving it, there was no continuity of the cat's training. But since then, i have used mostly the alarm/sound only and not the spray, and have not run out of spray again, after a very long time, months.

I began worrying that it would wear out and that the product would be discontinued, and also, i wanted to position more of them in different parts of the house, so i just bought two more today.

In other words, i think they're great.

After considerable review of the different manufacturers of this type of product I chose Contech specifically because their customer reviews indicated it was a better product, i.e. better quality, performance, etc. compared to the competition. I'll relate my experience and let you be the judge. I ordered two of the StayAway Pet Deterrents and they arrived promptly. The product is easy to assemble and place into immediate use. However the motion sensors on both units proved to be hypersensitive. Instead of limiting their sensing range out to 3 feet (the manufacturer's specifications) they detected movement and activated at a range clear out to 15 feet. So now you can't walk through our living room at all without them activating. I contacted customer service who were very friendly and the rep told me she had not heard of such a problem and would consult with one of their engineers and call me back which she did in a timely fashion. She stated that the engineer indicated that it was a bad sensor within the unit and they promptly shipped me 2 new units at no cost. I now have 4 units and they all have the same exact problem. They all fire at a range out to 15 feet. Unfortunately in my case the excess sensing range renders them very impractical unless I want to be purchasing the expensive refill canisters every week and putting up with the annoying blast every time we walk through the living room (high traffic area). I'm sure that the product normally works as advertised. Every manufacturer produces a lemon from time to time. But 4 units all performing outside their specifications indicates to me their is no quality control going on and neither did their customer service take the time to ensure they were sending me a properly functioning replacement.

After all the great reviews from other purchasers, I figured I'd give it a go. I bought the thing, set it up, and placed it in the doorway to my kitchen. The cat either walks right past it or the stupid "cat deterrent" goes off like three seconds after the cat has walked in front of it. How is that supposed to help the cat stay out of an area?

Cons:

Does not go off in time to deter a moving cat.

Cat basically has to walk in front of it and STAND THERE for anything to happen.

Expensive for value provided (none).

Pros:

Can be used to clean dust from computers.

Great for deterring humans from places that you do not want cats.

Helps you find a fast, easy way to throw away $40 if you are so inclined.

I have had the most exciting experience with this product to train my cat. I mean, I love her to death, but sometimes she is such a pain. She thinks this house is hers, and she allows us to live here. I finally broke down and got this because although she feels as though she has to lay on every surface in the house, there are some places that I don't want her to lay. The places that I want to keep her off of are the counters and food prep areas... WOW! Does this work! She'll prowl around in the middle of the night, and we'll hear PSST! Followed by jumping kitty ruckus. And that will make you laugh out loud in bed! This product may be scary, but it is safe. My only warning... be prepared to forget that the unit's on the counter in the morning. If you don't disarm it, you will be frightened by a sudden PSST! and may have a heart attack or incontinence. And if you're the first one up, you will hear laughter from the other bedrooms. Other than that, you can't go wrong.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I bought this item. But I really needed something to help clean my 90 pound dog who hates getting in the tub, but loves rolling around in the grosses stuff he can find in the woods.

The texture of this towel helps pull out some of the loose hair, which is nice since my dog sheds all year long. I just wet the towel and then put about five dots of foaming waterless bath soap on the dogs back and wipe him down. He loves the attention and the petting and is WAY happier then if I had to try to get him in the tub, which is really impossible.

Last time I washed him the towel was black when I was done! The towel came fairly clean, but you can't bleach it, so it's not back to new looking. But that's okay since it works so well and grabbing dirt and grime, so I would expect it to be a little dingy after wiping down such a dirty dog.

I would recommend this item to anyone who can't get their dog in the bath. Pair it with some nice smelling "waterless bath foam" and you'll be very happy.
