I have been using the fountain for a few weeks now.

It holds 2.5 gallons of water, I use bottled water to fill it because that's what we drink, so I'm not worried about the filter replacement. In fact.. I don't think the filter is all that useful or purposeful. (A regular charcoal filter that the water flows around) honestly.. I don't think I'll every buy a replacement.. using bottled water as I said I feel it's not really necessary!

Once a week I clean it out.. I did not buy the cleaning kit, again doesn't seem necessary. I use the hose sprayer on my small kitchen sink to turn it upside down in and spray every crack & crevice with our hottest tap water setting for a few minutes. Works great, no scrubbing necessary.

The flow rate adjustment is great too.. fast flow or slow.. .the slow setting makes the least water trickling sound, we don't even hear it, and the fast is like any soothing home water fountain.

2.5 gallons lasts our pack of 2 medium 1 large dogs, and 2 housecats about 1 week.. I may add a little to the bowl before the week is over now that its summer but not much. I let it run down a bit low and then clean it.

I would recommend buying it, and may buy another for our covered outside area as well.

We have 3 Scottish Terriers and they LOVE this thing! Scotties love fresh, running water to drink, but don't like getting water in their face. With this fountain, they get the fresh, filtered water they like, without having to worry about it getting in their face. The filter also helps clean out the debris they bring in on their beards! The large reservoir means I am not constantly refilling their water dish. I would highly recommend this product.

I've been very pleased with this fountain. I placed it beside my "Catit" cat fountain, which needs refilling less often now-I'm assuming because my big dog prefers the Big Dog fountain. My cats also like it, sometimes to drink from, sometimes just to watch. I like that it holds a lot of water. It's a bit noisy, I hear the water running all the time, that might bother some.

We've had this thing about a week now. It's definitely got our older dog drinking more water, which is why we got it.

It's not quite as great as I hoped, though. For one thing, I don't see why they didn't make the reservoir larger. We still have to fill the thing up once a day or so (though we'd have to do this at least as often with our old water bowl). They could have easily doubled the size of the water reservoir without making it awkwardly large.

For another thing, the water tastes good to our dogs, but it looks kind of unappealing. I somehow hoped that since the water was pumped through a filter continuously, it would be crystal clear. It's free of hair, but it has an enormous floating island of drool on it. The problem is that the water intake for the recirculation is on the bottom of the basin, but since drool floats on the surface, it just builds up until you skim it off or clean the thing out. I'm sure they could have designed it so that some of the water intake came from the water surface. But like I said, the dogs don't mind. The water is much less gross than our water bowl would get (besides the floating drool island).

The third thing about it that could be better is that it's not super quiet, even on the slowest setting. It's not that bad though; we have it in the kitchen, and we never turn the thing off. It's a bit of white noise that doesn't interfere with watching TV in the living room or anything. But if you're concerned about noise, you should be aware it'll make some.

Despite these quibbles, I still give it 4 stars. It gets our dog drinking more water, which is good for him.

One last thing -the instruction manual makes a big deal of cleaning out its various parts weekly. I think buying the brush kit (and some extra filters) to go with it is a good idea, instead of having to go back and have a second set of things shipped to you the next week (if you don't have a pet store local that sells the extras for this thing).

Though this isn't a must have item by any means, we do have a big Golden Retriever (we actually own two Goldens) that has always preferred drinking from a stream of running water (like a faucet or the water pouring from a bottle, etc.) and we do spoil our dogs sometimes... So out of curiosity I ordered this thing. Well when it arrived, I disassembled it and washed everything and then re-assembled... I figured this would be good practice and allowed me to evaluate the design and fit. Filled it with water and turned it on... HUMMMMMM!!! ...LOUD!!! LOUD!!! LOUD!!! this thing hummed sooo loud it could be heard two rooms away and even faintly from another floor. It was Friday evening so I had the weekend to play around with the thing. Everything I tried did nothing to quiet the loud humming of the little aquarium pump motor. I figured this canNOT possibly be right... they've probably sold tens of thousands of these things by now and no way would they have been able to do that if they all sounded this loud. So first thing on Monday I called the seller, who immediately agreed with me that something was not right, it should be very quiet. I was given the phone number of the manufacturer's customer service. After a nice conversation in which they also agreed something was not right with my unit, they sent me out a new motor/impeller at no charge. It took a week and a day to get to me. After I installed the new motor/impellor... TADA!!! no more hum. This thing is very quiet... now all I hear anymore is the gentle trickling of the water stream, hooray! ...its actually a kinda relaxing sound. The moral of the story here is... its not suppose to be loud and if you have a unit that is, just complain and ask for a new motor/impeller.

Bottomline is this is a great product... excellent design and fit. And this Big Dog fountain really is big and holds a lot of water... enough for days without having to refill it. One trick to keeping it cleaner longer is we have a separate SS water bowl next to the food dishes at dinner time so they drink out of that bowl immediately following dinner, that way all the food/kibble junk falls into the stainless bowl which we pick up soon after dinner and dump out. This keeps the Big Dog fountain from fouling up and so we don't need to wash it very often... in fact, we only wash it once every couple of weeks.

I had to rate it at only 4 stars because of the original motor's noise... and thus all totaled, it did take more than a week to get it working properly as it should have... and that inconvenience alone has got to cost it a star rating.

The Arm's Reach Duplex Bunk Bed is a great bed! We have two dogs, a five year old 30 pound Beagle and a ten year old 45 pound Terrier Mix. Our Beagle loves to cuddle up with us and sometimes when she gets up on our bed she loves to hide under the blankets. Our Terrier has been sharing our bed since he was a puppy and it got to the point where he has become selfish with sharing the bed and actually kicks us if we are taking up his space. We were looking for a bed or beds that we could make the dogs comfortable and also marry their two personalities in one. While doing some research on how to keep your dogs off your bed, we decided to look into new bedding ideas. We came across the Arms Reach Duplex Bunk Bed which was the perfect idea but were skeptical that the dogs would even bother getting in the bed. To our surprise they both immediately hopped on the bed. Our Beagle (Betty) immediately snuggled up inside the bottom bed and our Terrier (Elroy) jumped on top. There's sometimes even a "struggle" for the top bunk. We love it when they share the top together, or when they switch bunks... it's really sweet!

This bed was very easy to put together, durable and easy to vacuum and clean. I can also share a great customer service experience we had with Arm's Reach, thanks to Theresa Soto. We wrote to Arm's Reach thinking their was a part missing because the bottom bunk was sinking to the floor when Betty would lay in it. The truth was that after being tested, the bottom bunk was specifically designed to sink to serve as comfort for the dog. After hearing that Betty had recently undergone spinal surgery and that we weren't comfortable with less support on the bottom, Teresa gave it little thought and immediately offered to send us a bar to snap on to the bottom of the frame and an extra base board for additional support. We received the extra pieces, and are extremely satisfied with the results.

Get this bed if you are looking to pamper your dog(s). This bed design is at a great height too. You pull it up to your own bed, this way your dogs are at "arm's reach" wink wink.

This is a wonderful dog bed! It is very durable and of excellent quality. I purchased this bed because I was looking for a way to wean our dog out of our bed. Our dog slept in our bed since he was a puppy and was used to sleeping close to us. As he got bigger, it was clear that we needed our bed back, and he needed his own space. The height of this bunk bed is perfect because it places him up to the same level as our bed and it gives him the sense that he is still sleeping with us. It has enough space to allow him to move around as he sleeps. Although it is a bunk bed and can be occupied by two dogs, it is perfect for him during the day while we are awake; He takes his naps and rests there intermittently. If you are looking for a way to get your dog or furry animal out of your bed so you can get a good nights sleep, without fur in the bed, I would highly recommend this Pet Bunk Bed. I am very pleased with this product.

I purchased the medium bed in brown. I was looking for an elevated bed so she would stop trying to steal our office chairs. She likes to sit up close to us while we work.

General Info:

I have one 25 pound dog and I could fit two of her on each level. However the bed is thin but long I can fit two of her because her long-way fits the bed's short-way. If your dog were any bigger it would have to lay the long way and you could only fit one per level. I would recommend considering the large bed if your dog is 40 pounds or larger.

The Good:

-Surprisingly sturdy

-Does exactly what I needed

The Bad:

-The bed does not include the leopard print bolster you see in the pictures. That is sold separately for approximately $45.

-The synthetic canvas material used on the sides is also used to cover the mattresses. This material is not soft, comfortable, or in any way cozy. The first thing I did was put a blanket down for her. The aforementioned $45 bolster only covers the edges, leaving the uncomfortable mattress exposed.

-See that instruction manual in your hands? The one that came with the bed? Yeah, that one. OK throw it out. It shows a drawing of the completed bed, and each part of the completed bed is lettered. Then it says take Part B and attach it to Part E. OK. Hrm. See I can't tell which part is Part E and which one is Part B because the parts themselves aren't labeled and the picture only shows the whole thing assembled. Once you have the bed totally assembled you will then know which part is A and which is E. Won't that be edifying. So just toss it and you'll figure it out yourself. The screws strip really easily so make sure you have all the pieces threaded through the canvas before you screw it together.

-You will need a bit of strength to stretch the canvas over everything. I used pliers for a better grip.

-You will think you can assemble the bed in about 3 minutes but it took me an hour because of the useless instructions, having to unscrew everything that should have been threaded through the canvas first, and trying to pull the plastic canvas into submission.

-There are several clips, loops, and Velcro patches that go with optional accessories. I don't think they look nice on the bed because I like everything to be clean and have a purpose.

-It looks a little like a kiddie play-pen but I am secure with myself so I don't mind. At least I don't have a doggie stroller. Pet Gear Special Edition Pet Stroller for cats and dogs up to 45-pounds, Sage

-Double check the length measurement before you buy. It is probably longer than you think it is.

The Verdict:

I know those seem like a lot of cons for a 4 star review, but I am happy with the bed. I mostly wish the mattress had been made of a more comfortable material. Thanks and I hope you enjoy your bed!

I purchased the medium gray co-sleeper/bunk bed from Home Goods with the Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper Pet Bunk Bed Plush Liner, Medium, Cocoa and Black Leopard only because it was on sale and because it was already partially assembled. As soon as I brought it in the door, two of my four cats jumped on the top bunk. After I placed it where I wanted it, two cats moved into the lower bunk and the other two cats (sometimes just one cat) rested on top. Note that my cats never rested that close together for more than a few minutes before so this was a surprise to me.

Both levels have a very soft nylon covered pad that the cats like. In addition, the top liner (which is sold separately) is nylon but has a nice soft rim where my cats can rest their head or paws if they want. What I did was put a small rug inside the lower unit and a heating pad on the upper unit to make it even softer and more inviting. However, before I did that, my cats still gravitated to this bunk bed.

Although I didn't have to assemble the unit (assembly looks a bit confusing from the instructions provided), I did have to remove the two lower side bars because Home Goods did not insert the side bars into the side sleeves as they were supposed to. It was easy to disassemble the side bars and feed them through the nylon side sleeve but it was very difficult to snap one of the legs back in place because the nylon was so taut after installing the other side leg. I actually had to bend the plastic on the leg hook so I could hook it onto the existing frame. I'm so glad the plastic was malleable and did not break.

What I love about this product is:

My cats love this more than any other sleeper, cat condo, or bed I've purchased for them in the past. I have 5 elaborate cat condos, one cat playpen, and over 18 plush pet beds throughout my condo, yet I've never seen them gravitate toward any one piece of furniture as much as this for sleeping and resting.

There are three mesh doors on the bottom bunk that can be unzipped for easy access.

The unit is very light so it's easy to move around.

I suspect the nylon is easy to clean.

The only thing I don't like is that the bed area of both bunks is nylon and not furry but I suppose that is a trade-off for an easy-to-clean surface. If I were a cat, which I'm not, I'd want a furry soft surface to bury my body in. However, my cats don't seem to mind one bit and I can always add a soft blanket to provide that cottony soft feel.

I highly recommend this from my four cats point of view. If I had to assemble the unit fully myself, I might have taken off one star based on the assembly instructions that came with the product. However, since I didn't have to assemble this, I consider this a 5-star pet bunk bed. Arm's Reach also makes a Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper Portable Pet Bunk Bed, Medium, Cocoa that folds and is portable, but this particular unit requires assembly, is not portable and does not fold.

One other thing to note is that this co-sleeper was really designed to get your pet off the bed and into their own bed when placed right next to your bed. I did not purchase this for that reason as I want my pets in bed with me. I also located this away from my bed. However, since I purchased this, two of my four cats stay in the co-sleeper all night now instead of coming to bed with me. That my cats choose this co-sleeper over my bed is disappointing to me, of course.

Our 1-year old 55-lb lab mix is a needy little thing and doesn't like to be out of sight of us when we are in the house. We had her bed on the floor beside us and she was always jumping up on our bed whenever one of us was missing or if she got scared. She was constantly sitting up in her bed to see if we were there when she should have been sleeping. As she a med-large dog, the last thing hubs and I wanted was to be jammed in our king-size bed by our pooch. I looked at elevated beds that were very elegant but they still wouldn't let her see us in our bed. Since we got the Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper (Gray-large with matching covering), our dog rarely gets on the bed. Mission accomplished.

What I like about this product:

Dog is much more comfortable being at bed height and seems to sleep so much better. We pull it close to one side of the bed when it is bedtime and slide it into a corner when we all get up. If she gets exercised about some noise she hears or is a bit restless, all I have to do is reach out and give her a reassuring pet to calm her down.

If she is ill during the night or has to go out, all she has to do is lean over and poke her nose at us--we no longer have to deal with her jumping up on the bed and stepping all over us to get our attention.

Since we only have one dog, we don't use the bottom bunk. We use it to put away some of her toys and her blanket when not in use. It's plenty big enough to store a bunch of your shoes if you need the space. It is also good for doggie sleepovers provided the dog in question is smaller.

The bed looks so much better than a bed on the floor.

It's easy to vacuum up the bed.

Set up was fairly easy once you broke the code on the instructions.

What I don't like:

The thin mattress that comes with the bed may be easy to clean but it is noisy and not a comfortable fabric to lie on. I went to Pet Smart and bought a medium oblong orthopedic bed and it fit very nicely into the large-size co-sleeper. Think the dog now has a better bed than we do.

Dogs jumping down from this bed onto a hardwood floor will quickly scratch the floor and may pull a muscle if they lose their footing on the floor. Buy a throw rug with a non-skid bottom to let your dog jump down onto that.

The instructions could be better written as some people, like me, will follow the instructions only to find out we have to disassemble the bed because there is a step missing. Just remember to put the bottom legs and bottom support bars through the bottom fabric first and then start assembling the bed up from there.

Finally, while the top bunk works great for my dog, I would have liked the bottom section to be roomier to give her the option of chilling out in a "cave". The bottom is much too small for my dog to be comfortable.

My Golden Retriever LOVES these loofa things. She destroyed her first one (I kept the pieces, she still plays with them!). The next four have survived really well. These are her favorites toys right now. Looks super-cute when she carries them around and sometimes even carries one to bed! Okay, it may not be the most durable toy on the planet but the enjoyment my dog gets out of it is worth the repairs and eventual replacement. My basenji plays with it for hours. When his last one eventually had to be retired, more because he'd carried it out and left it near a big fire-ant bed than tearing it open which he did but I re-stitched it, he moped. So I got a new one, and it arrived today. He saw it, sniffed it (it was a different color), then threw it in the air and chased it, running around with it like a maniac. No toy yet has brought him half the fun as this one, and that's before he offers it to me to join him in play.

I was disappointed in how quickly the seams came apart for this toy. My dog is not one to disembowel her stuffed toys, so I don't usually worry about toys being 'indestructible'. Toy was received on Tuesday, by Wednesday night there was a 2-inch opening in the seam where the head attaches to the body. She's still playing with it for now, but again, disappointing that it didn't hold up a bit longer before the first scratch.

I have a 160 lb bullmastiff who goes crazy with fear from thunder and lightening. If the storm occurs at night, I have to stay up with her and miss a lot of sleep. If during the day, I fear leaving her at home with the other dogs as she gets so worked up she tears into things. Vet gave me Valium for her but this works much more quickly and effectively. I have a 60 pound Golden Retriever who is terrified of thunder. I purchased this product on the advice of my vet, and it really does work very well and calms her down substanially. However, the medicine comes in a dropper and the instructions say to give multiple drops (like 10 or so) per 10 pounds of weight, per hour until the dog calms down. In my case, this takes nearly the entire bottle for each thunderstorm it's just not worth it. You can go to the pet store and buy the same thing in pill form and only need 2-3 pills per storm and it does the same thing. It might be great for small dogs, but for big dogs, just go get the pills and save yourself some time/money.

Bought this tug based on the good reputation of the Kong brand. All other Kong toys have held up very, very well. This tug only has "Kong rubber" at the ends and in the middle. The sides are exposed, red plastic. Our dogs immediately went to work on the red plastic and had it torn apart in 2 days. If only Kong had put it's rubber all over the toy, it probably would have held up for a long time and become a favorite toy with my dogs.

I volunteer at a no-kill animal shelter, and from time to time bring toys in for the dogs. I saw this toy, and figured it would be great for all the medium sized and large dogs there, for playing tug-of-war with me. Sadly, I was wrong. After a few times with larger dogs, it broke in half. Also, some of the dogs didn't want to play tug-of-war with this toy (I don't know why), and chose others to play with.

Do NOT buy this toy. We have a 60 lb lab who loves tug of war. He immediately went to work chewing this toy and was able to chew thru not only the flimsy red plastic but also the rubber, so much so that after 3 days when he played TOW with me, the toy broke in half and snapped back and hit him in the eye with such force that his eye swelled shut. The vet said he suffered ocular trauma and it cost us over $500 in vet bills and we weren't sure his eye would ever recover. Contacted Kong, they said they had never heard any complaints about this toy and were completely apathetic to my situation. Normally a huge fan of Kong products but this one is substandard and caused my normally very happy lab huge amounts of pain and suffering. AVOID THIS TOY FOR YOUR DOGS SAFETY!!!

On the bottom of the bed it is just a thin layer of the fuzzy material, no padding what so ever. It is really soft and plush but for $25 I expected it to be more comfortable for my dog.

We were desperate to teach our puppy how to tell us when he needed to go outside and this did the trick! He learned how to ring these bells within 15 minutes of hanging them on the door and he could not have been prouder of himself. However, after going to the grocery store for an hour and coming home, we found the yellow strap of the PoochieBells chewed in half and laying beside a big pile of... well, you know. The pup was obviously trying very hard to get the darned bells to open the door for him! I'd love to see a heavier strap, and faster grocery shopping.

I bought this for a miniature dachshund and I like the concept enough, but the front panel that goes across the chest has Velcro that doesn't go from edge-to-edge so you end up with a flap on the end that can easily get caught on something. My dog is around 10# and is too short to walk correctly with the front panel, because it's so large (from bottom to top). This would probably be OK for a taller breed. I like the hole for the collar to be hooked through the jacket; that's a great feature. The folded down panel at the neck makes it look like a Dracula cape or a short cone when not folded down and it seems a bit bulky when folded down. So, for the price, it's just OK if I'm carrying my dog around, but he had trouble extending his front legs forward. What is nice is that it is very easy to put on.

I have a small dog, yorkie/toy poodle mix who is about 10 lbs. and about 14in. long and thin. The small fit her perfect as a pup, but although it still fits just a tad short, she was noticeably cold. I decided to purchase the medium -and it covers her entirely like a blanket! Although it is big -It keeps her warm! We live in Chicago where the weather has been about 18 degrees and will be 1 degree tomorrow and it has kept her warm for walks along with one of the random fleece hooded sweaters which I keep her in all winter, also underneath the jacket. I'd highly recommend it to anyone layering their dog. Also see Zack and Zoey hoodies and/or casual canine snowdrifter cuddler for layering.

The quality of the product is nice, however, if you have a dog who likes to chew, it will figure out how to pull the soft cloth fabric through the crate cage and once they do, you're kind of hosed. It might be better to get something that has a flatter, sturdier fit to the crate.

This is just what I was looking for. My puppy did not really like the crate until we put this cover on it, and it turned into a snuggly cave and now he goes in there to sleep even when the crate is left open. The material is nice and heavy, it made the crate better looking in our family room, and overall this met my expectations.

Unfortunately, I wasn't thinking when purchasing this. My birds are conures, with beautiful long tails. Therefore, they did not use it. However, I later purchased the snuggle sack which looks like a tent. They all sleep in them every single night.

I like this product. The smaller one is for one lovebird or the medium one is for two lovebirds. well that's what I have in mine and they love them. Plus they are machine washable and can be tossed in the dryer. if I get another bird i will buy one of these. The medium could be used for larger birds also. I think they are great little houses. I have never bought a large but I am sure they are for medium size parrots. thanks

Bought this to keep my parakeets warm in winter. Unfortunately, the opening on the front is small and the cutout is stiff, so my birds didn't use it and I don't think they went in once. It kind of sits crookedly, as well. Material is fine and maybe it's better if you have a slightly bigger bird. However, might be tough for a parrot to fit through the hole, too.

Nice quality item. Bought for my parakeet but she will not sleep in it, she just chews on it.

Update another bird owner commented on my post that these could be dangerous for a bird who chews on it. Possibility of them getting caught in between the layers. Removed from cage. Could happen.

I wasn't sure how this would turn out, but it baked up nice and tall and looked just like a normal cake. If you are making a birthday or party cake you will need more frosting, but if it is just a treat there is plenty to frost the top. Move quickly with the frosting, it does set up very fast. But my puppy loves this cake! She is little, so she didn't come close to eating it all, but the price is great and it was a fun and different treat.

I made this cake for my doggies birthday, and he loved it. You need water, egg, and veggie oil. It is easy to mix and bakes for about 20 nibs. You can also microwave bake it. I had no issues at all, and it came out moist and yummy. He was in heaven. I WILL buy this again the next time we celebrate. It is so easy to make a child could help. The yogurt icing was also easy to make, just add water. Percet item. My dog LOVED every bite and the mix makes a decent sized cake.
