The Arm's Reach Duplex Bunk Bed is a great bed! We have two dogs, a five year old 30 pound Beagle and a ten year old 45 pound Terrier Mix. Our Beagle loves to cuddle up with us and sometimes when she gets up on our bed she loves to hide under the blankets. Our Terrier has been sharing our bed since he was a puppy and it got to the point where he has become selfish with sharing the bed and actually kicks us if we are taking up his space. We were looking for a bed or beds that we could make the dogs comfortable and also marry their two personalities in one. While doing some research on how to keep your dogs off your bed, we decided to look into new bedding ideas. We came across the Arms Reach Duplex Bunk Bed which was the perfect idea but were skeptical that the dogs would even bother getting in the bed. To our surprise they both immediately hopped on the bed. Our Beagle (Betty) immediately snuggled up inside the bottom bed and our Terrier (Elroy) jumped on top. There's sometimes even a "struggle" for the top bunk. We love it when they share the top together, or when they switch bunks... it's really sweet!

This bed was very easy to put together, durable and easy to vacuum and clean. I can also share a great customer service experience we had with Arm's Reach, thanks to Theresa Soto. We wrote to Arm's Reach thinking their was a part missing because the bottom bunk was sinking to the floor when Betty would lay in it. The truth was that after being tested, the bottom bunk was specifically designed to sink to serve as comfort for the dog. After hearing that Betty had recently undergone spinal surgery and that we weren't comfortable with less support on the bottom, Teresa gave it little thought and immediately offered to send us a bar to snap on to the bottom of the frame and an extra base board for additional support. We received the extra pieces, and are extremely satisfied with the results.

Get this bed if you are looking to pamper your dog(s). This bed design is at a great height too. You pull it up to your own bed, this way your dogs are at "arm's reach" wink wink.

This is a wonderful dog bed! It is very durable and of excellent quality. I purchased this bed because I was looking for a way to wean our dog out of our bed. Our dog slept in our bed since he was a puppy and was used to sleeping close to us. As he got bigger, it was clear that we needed our bed back, and he needed his own space. The height of this bunk bed is perfect because it places him up to the same level as our bed and it gives him the sense that he is still sleeping with us. It has enough space to allow him to move around as he sleeps. Although it is a bunk bed and can be occupied by two dogs, it is perfect for him during the day while we are awake; He takes his naps and rests there intermittently. If you are looking for a way to get your dog or furry animal out of your bed so you can get a good nights sleep, without fur in the bed, I would highly recommend this Pet Bunk Bed. I am very pleased with this product.

Best Deals for Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper Duplex Pet Bunk Bed

I purchased the medium bed in brown. I was looking for an elevated bed so she would stop trying to steal our office chairs. She likes to sit up close to us while we work.

General Info:

I have one 25 pound dog and I could fit two of her on each level. However the bed is thin but long I can fit two of her because her long-way fits the bed's short-way. If your dog were any bigger it would have to lay the long way and you could only fit one per level. I would recommend considering the large bed if your dog is 40 pounds or larger.

The Good:

-Surprisingly sturdy

-Does exactly what I needed

The Bad:

-The bed does not include the leopard print bolster you see in the pictures. That is sold separately for approximately $45.

-The synthetic canvas material used on the sides is also used to cover the mattresses. This material is not soft, comfortable, or in any way cozy. The first thing I did was put a blanket down for her. The aforementioned $45 bolster only covers the edges, leaving the uncomfortable mattress exposed.

-See that instruction manual in your hands? The one that came with the bed? Yeah, that one. OK throw it out. It shows a drawing of the completed bed, and each part of the completed bed is lettered. Then it says take Part B and attach it to Part E. OK. Hrm. See I can't tell which part is Part E and which one is Part B because the parts themselves aren't labeled and the picture only shows the whole thing assembled. Once you have the bed totally assembled you will then know which part is A and which is E. Won't that be edifying. So just toss it and you'll figure it out yourself. The screws strip really easily so make sure you have all the pieces threaded through the canvas before you screw it together.

-You will need a bit of strength to stretch the canvas over everything. I used pliers for a better grip.

-You will think you can assemble the bed in about 3 minutes but it took me an hour because of the useless instructions, having to unscrew everything that should have been threaded through the canvas first, and trying to pull the plastic canvas into submission.

-There are several clips, loops, and Velcro patches that go with optional accessories. I don't think they look nice on the bed because I like everything to be clean and have a purpose.

-It looks a little like a kiddie play-pen but I am secure with myself so I don't mind. At least I don't have a doggie stroller. Pet Gear Special Edition Pet Stroller for cats and dogs up to 45-pounds, Sage

-Double check the length measurement before you buy. It is probably longer than you think it is.

The Verdict:

I know those seem like a lot of cons for a 4 star review, but I am happy with the bed. I mostly wish the mattress had been made of a more comfortable material. Thanks and I hope you enjoy your bed!

Honest reviews on Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper Duplex Pet Bunk Bed

I purchased the medium gray co-sleeper/bunk bed from Home Goods with the Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper Pet Bunk Bed Plush Liner, Medium, Cocoa and Black Leopard only because it was on sale and because it was already partially assembled. As soon as I brought it in the door, two of my four cats jumped on the top bunk. After I placed it where I wanted it, two cats moved into the lower bunk and the other two cats (sometimes just one cat) rested on top. Note that my cats never rested that close together for more than a few minutes before so this was a surprise to me.

Both levels have a very soft nylon covered pad that the cats like. In addition, the top liner (which is sold separately) is nylon but has a nice soft rim where my cats can rest their head or paws if they want. What I did was put a small rug inside the lower unit and a heating pad on the upper unit to make it even softer and more inviting. However, before I did that, my cats still gravitated to this bunk bed.

Although I didn't have to assemble the unit (assembly looks a bit confusing from the instructions provided), I did have to remove the two lower side bars because Home Goods did not insert the side bars into the side sleeves as they were supposed to. It was easy to disassemble the side bars and feed them through the nylon side sleeve but it was very difficult to snap one of the legs back in place because the nylon was so taut after installing the other side leg. I actually had to bend the plastic on the leg hook so I could hook it onto the existing frame. I'm so glad the plastic was malleable and did not break.

What I love about this product is:

My cats love this more than any other sleeper, cat condo, or bed I've purchased for them in the past. I have 5 elaborate cat condos, one cat playpen, and over 18 plush pet beds throughout my condo, yet I've never seen them gravitate toward any one piece of furniture as much as this for sleeping and resting.

There are three mesh doors on the bottom bunk that can be unzipped for easy access.

The unit is very light so it's easy to move around.

I suspect the nylon is easy to clean.

The only thing I don't like is that the bed area of both bunks is nylon and not furry but I suppose that is a trade-off for an easy-to-clean surface. If I were a cat, which I'm not, I'd want a furry soft surface to bury my body in. However, my cats don't seem to mind one bit and I can always add a soft blanket to provide that cottony soft feel.

I highly recommend this from my four cats point of view. If I had to assemble the unit fully myself, I might have taken off one star based on the assembly instructions that came with the product. However, since I didn't have to assemble this, I consider this a 5-star pet bunk bed. Arm's Reach also makes a Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper Portable Pet Bunk Bed, Medium, Cocoa that folds and is portable, but this particular unit requires assembly, is not portable and does not fold.

One other thing to note is that this co-sleeper was really designed to get your pet off the bed and into their own bed when placed right next to your bed. I did not purchase this for that reason as I want my pets in bed with me. I also located this away from my bed. However, since I purchased this, two of my four cats stay in the co-sleeper all night now instead of coming to bed with me. That my cats choose this co-sleeper over my bed is disappointing to me, of course.

Our 1-year old 55-lb lab mix is a needy little thing and doesn't like to be out of sight of us when we are in the house. We had her bed on the floor beside us and she was always jumping up on our bed whenever one of us was missing or if she got scared. She was constantly sitting up in her bed to see if we were there when she should have been sleeping. As she a med-large dog, the last thing hubs and I wanted was to be jammed in our king-size bed by our pooch. I looked at elevated beds that were very elegant but they still wouldn't let her see us in our bed. Since we got the Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper (Gray-large with matching covering), our dog rarely gets on the bed. Mission accomplished.

What I like about this product:

Dog is much more comfortable being at bed height and seems to sleep so much better. We pull it close to one side of the bed when it is bedtime and slide it into a corner when we all get up. If she gets exercised about some noise she hears or is a bit restless, all I have to do is reach out and give her a reassuring pet to calm her down.

If she is ill during the night or has to go out, all she has to do is lean over and poke her nose at us--we no longer have to deal with her jumping up on the bed and stepping all over us to get our attention.

Since we only have one dog, we don't use the bottom bunk. We use it to put away some of her toys and her blanket when not in use. It's plenty big enough to store a bunch of your shoes if you need the space. It is also good for doggie sleepovers provided the dog in question is smaller.

The bed looks so much better than a bed on the floor.

It's easy to vacuum up the bed.

Set up was fairly easy once you broke the code on the instructions.

What I don't like:

The thin mattress that comes with the bed may be easy to clean but it is noisy and not a comfortable fabric to lie on. I went to Pet Smart and bought a medium oblong orthopedic bed and it fit very nicely into the large-size co-sleeper. Think the dog now has a better bed than we do.

Dogs jumping down from this bed onto a hardwood floor will quickly scratch the floor and may pull a muscle if they lose their footing on the floor. Buy a throw rug with a non-skid bottom to let your dog jump down onto that.

The instructions could be better written as some people, like me, will follow the instructions only to find out we have to disassemble the bed because there is a step missing. Just remember to put the bottom legs and bottom support bars through the bottom fabric first and then start assembling the bed up from there.

Finally, while the top bunk works great for my dog, I would have liked the bottom section to be roomier to give her the option of chilling out in a "cave". The bottom is much too small for my dog to be comfortable.

I would recommend this product to anyone who has "critters" who get bitten and bothered by flies. I have dogs who have bleeding ears/noses, by the end of the day, if I don't put this repellant on their ears and noses every morning. Also, I have a retired Grand Canyon pack mule who is horribly afraid of fly spray bottles. Farnham roll on to the rescue on his ears, lower legs, sensitive nose and tummy areas, etc. It is just part of my daily routine during fly season. My critters appreciate my help and I appreciate Farnham roll on for helping me to help them!!

I bought this for my neighbor's dog. I got tired of seeing him run around his chained area biting at his back. He is a very short-haired white English boxer. You could actually see some welts from the fly bites. With the permission of his owner, I applied a small amount on the top of his head and on his ears. No more flies bothering him. I repeat it about once a week. I recommend this product.

Clean Go Pet Disposable Doggie Diaper, X-Small

Clean Go Pet Disposable Doggie Diapers (x-small) fit my little toy poodle perfectly (no leaks)! Our little dog can't have medication to help with her incontenance (health problems) hence it is necessary to keep her in diapers inside the house. Because this brand fits her so well, this will be the one I will order.

I saw the reviews about the size disparities under this size and some others and very carefully picked the size I thought I needed for my dog. When the package arrived, I was a little confused: on the outside it indicated that it should fit my 5.5 lbs dog just fine, but it was so big, it came all the way up to her rib cage and the bottom had a puffy, saggy look. The tail hole was really big for a small dog and not to be graphic but if I had put it to use it wouldn't have been very functional. When you have a female dog in heat, you want full coverage, nothing should leak or you can say goodbye to your white sofa...

Granted, my dog is pretty slim, but the extra small should have fit her correctly according to the product description here, as well as on the box. There is only one smaller size, the one meant for XXS dogs under 4 lbs. Who knows how small or big that is. It's not worth returning, I will just drop the remaining 9 off at the shelter the next time I donate supplies. Be warned, I would not order these again, not even the XXS.

I bought these for my small weenie dog (she's tiny) while she is in heat. They fit extremely awkward. The tail hole is super low.

Honest reviews on Disposable Doggy Diapers

This is the same exact diaper as http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005N2QPZE/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i02. I do not recommend this item. The adhesive on the tabs does not always keep the diaper secure. Also, every single one we used leaked because the diapers shifted every time my dog squatted so she was able to urinate straight out of the tail hole; I think it is because the portion of the diaper that goes on her back is too long so it creates extra room allowing the diaper to move (I did buy the size recommended per my dog's waist measurement).

My dog is now elderly and is exhibiting signs of Pancreatitis. The vet confirmed that she can no longer properly digest proteins and fats. Since she has been taking the Bio-Zyme, my dog is no longer vomiting up orange/brown fluid from her pancreas. I definitely believe it is helping her to properly digest her food.

My dog gets very hot in the summer months so I decided to get this product to see if it would help her cool off. I agree with the other commenters here. It takes a long time to soak, you have to wring the water through to get it completely saturated, and then try to find a place for this wet thing. I had to put towels on it and place it on a cot before my dog would sleep on it. Even so, before long it seemed to be getting a little on the moldy side, which I guess I should have seen coming, so I threw it away. Its not worth the money.

For a recommendation, check out the Cool Bed 3. I purchased one for my dog and she loves it. Even though its cold outside now, she still sleeps on it rather than her more expensive cushion bed. I am now in the process of getting a larger one for her and will give the medium one to a friend.

I bought this for a feral cat I care for to help her keep cool in the Phoenix summer heat. She likes it and uses it a lot. She doesn't like to lay on it when it's wet, though (it takes a couple hours for the surface to dry out after soaking). Item seems a little pricey for what you get (the mat is small), but the cat is happy and the mat does what it promises, so I think it was money well spent.

Best Deals for PetEdge Miracool Dog Mat, Medium, 24-Inch, Cowboy Blue

This is a horrible product! It takes a long time to soak in cold water and it is bumpy with hard ridges, instead of a flat comfortable surface. My dog won't even go on it!

Honest reviews on PetEdge Miracool Dog Mat, Medium, 24-Inch, Cowboy Blue

I bought this based on the reviews I saw, but it does not work! I put it in a sink of cold water for the allotted time, but it did not get cold as it said it would, and I had to add ice. My dogs would not get on this, at first I though it was becasue it was so wet, and I had to put a towel under it to keep it from ruining my floors. But even after it dried and it was just a little cool (not remotely COLD), my dogs delicately stepped around it and I could not even force them or bribe them to lay on it to try it out even after a day or two. This is a waste of money.

I had bought this because temperatures in my NYC apartment were sweltering and my poor dog was in agony. I had gotten this intending to give it to her immediately-turns out you have to immerse it in cold water to soak for about 15 minutes... but then let it dry. Wetting the crystals inside "activates" them, but it took entirely too long to dry. After trying it out overnight I ended up giving it to my dog, who then didn't want to lie on it because it was damp. I know some animals just don't care, but if yours is picky at all about water, just know it's going to take awhile--preferably on a sunny patio, perhaps, which I didn't have--to dry out to the point they'll actually use it. That said, she seems to like it in her cage, although she never makes a point to lie on it when she's outside of it.

I had a really bad experience with anti-bark shock collars nearly ten years ago. My last dog was extremely stubborn and while the collar deterred his barking for the first few days, he did what the enclosed instructions stated he might do and became 'bark happy' during the second week to 'test' the boundaries of his training. Well, the instructions advise that you remain consistent and continue use of the collar during the 'test' phase, which I tried to do but I eventually gave in and trashed the collar when he started to develop sores on his neck. I then tried the citronella spray collar, but he was also one of those dogs who learned that if he laid down and turned his head to the side he could bark non-stop to 'empty' the cartridge completely, freeing him to then bark as he pleased. Gosh he was a pain in my butt!! Miss that lil guy :).

Now my new pup has been a lot easier to train overall and he knows he's not supposed to bark when you're in the room. If he does start barking, a firm 'No' or a loud hand clap is often enough to stop him however, if I'm upstairs or out of the house he immediately jumps onto the back of the sofa to bark out the window at all the other neighborhood dogs, who love to bark right back. As soon as you re-enter the room or he hears you coming, he'll immediately dive for his dog bed and sit there prim and proper as if he'd been sitting there all along. The first day I put this collar on him, I stepped outside to give it a quick test and instead of the non-stop barking I'm accustomed to hearing as soon as the door closes, I heard one bark then silence. I immediately went inside to make sure my lil' buddy wasn't too traumatized from the experience but he just sat there with a 'nothing unusual going on here' look on his face, followed me to the kitchen for a little treat, and has not barked again since. Because he's not as defiant as my last dog and he seemed to respond so very well from just one corrective response, I have high hopes that this collar will get the job done.

It seems to me as if they've made a lot of improvements from the shock collars I remember years ago. One of my concerns was that my dog is a very itchy lil fellow (no fleas, allergies or mites he just likes to 'scratch, scratch, scratch' a few times a day) and the older collars would send a shock from any type of vibration it interpreted to be a bark. My last dogs collar would sometimes go off if you tapped your nails on it or bumped it into something. This collar claims to use 'the most reliable bark detection available' in that it uses both vibration and sound sensors to discriminate each bark from other external noises. Static correction is only administered if both the vibration from the vocal chords and the sound from the bark match the same criteria. So far, so good I have not observed any instance of the collar going off from his play time or his personal 'scratching' time.

I also like that the collar has built in software that tracks the number of corrections needed to reduce and eliminate the number of nuisance barks. There are 10 levels of static correction and the software will increase or decrease the correction intensity as needed (it goes into greater detail of how this works in the manual).

And lastly, I appreciate the built-in safety feature ensures that the collar will automatically shut off for 3 minutes if your dog barks 15 times or more within a 1 minute and 20 second period. I've heard some dog's initial reaction to the corrective measure might be to 'yelp' and that could create an ongoing cycle of corrective feedback for the wrong behavior. You're trying to stop nuisance barking, not correct them for being too startled to make the connection that they need to stop barking. Perhaps this would also minimize the potential of sores from developing as they had with my last dog who would bark 8 hours straight without even so much as a flinch to the static response he was receiving.

One concern I do have is that the collar will retain the correction level for your dog, even after the collar has been turned off (which you're supposed to do whenever it's not in use to prolong battery life). If you have multiple dogs, make sure you're using the same collar on the same dogs each time. Page 7 of the instruction manual explains how you can also reset the Correction Level back to 1. I would recommend doing this even if you think the collar is brand new because you never know if it had somehow been returned/previously used.

On a final note Model PBC00-10782 is the same collar but is marketed as the "comfort fit" version. It has a rubber/plastic collar as opposed to the nylon collar but many of the reviews indicate that the firm shape of the collar makes it very difficult to size it properly around their dogs neck especially with smaller breeds. I don't know why it would be considered a more comfortable collar... it just looks like it would be uncomfortable! The nylon collar is the one I have and is the one I'm writing the review for Model PBC00-12726. My dog is a 7.5 lbs male shihtzu and it fits him perfectly, no problems.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this training collar but I wouldn't expect it to be a one size fits all solution. No one training method will work 100% of the time but this has definitely been working well for me and my dog.

*******Update*******

Well, the lil fella did eventually 'test' the boundaries of his collar and I'm glad to say that it still continues to deter him from barking. I would never laugh at the discomfort of my pet but I have to admit his little experiment cracked me up. He sat down right smack in the middle of the living room and made one very loud "Brrrufffff!". Wasn't barking at me or at anything in particular, just to himself. There wasn't a wimper or any outward appearance of discomfort and after a moment passed, he let out a second loud "Brrrufffff!". This time, no wimper, but you could see he was really bracing himself when he let out his third and final "Brrrruffff!" and his little legs flew right out from under him. He just picked himself right up like nothing had happened and walked into the kitchen to eat his dinner, lol.

I'm also excited to comment on how much more well behaved my lil guy is "overall" since I've introduced this collar to him. It's like night and day. He's still fun and playful but he no longer mouths hands or growls during play time, he's far more 'attentive' during training, he stays 'nearly' perfectly still during grooming (before he'd try and bite/play with the brush or refused to lay on his back so I could brush out his chest), he no longer "hugs" house guests and he spends more time just sitting with me on my lap like the lap dog I had hoped for :). I'm certain that this is a direct result of him no longer barking (maybe barking at the neighborhood dogs was show of aggression that in turn spilled over to his behavior?) and not something else as I haven't changed any of his other routines (feedings, walks, grooming, play time, etc). This has been an outstanding purchase for me and I couldn't be happier. I would however like to eventually wean him off this collar so that we're not dependant on it. Not sure how to go about that so if anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear from you!

*******Update 6/4/2012*******

********************

As if this review wasn't long enough, but I thought this would be extremely helpful information to share. About three months ago it seemed my bark collar was no longer 'working', at least not quite as well. My lil' fella started barking again when I wasn't in the room, though not as much as he would with the collar off. I noted the few times he would bark while I was in the room, the red indicator light on his collar was not going off even though the battery light was still flashing green. I first tried trimming his neck hair very short but it made no difference. Last week I finally broke down and bought a replacement battery thinking that maybe it was getting weak although the green light was still flashing and again, no improvement. I was a bit upset thinking I'd have to purchase a new collar altogether because it seemed that this one was now defective but I then noticed something I hadn't before... the device was no longer completely centered on my dogs neck like it had been when I first started using it. It hung off the center of my dogs neck to the left by about one inch. I tried making it more snug to get it to stay centered but it would still move 'off center' once he started to move about and making it more snug seemed unreasonable. I then tried loosening it up quite a bit more thinking it might 'hang' better around his neck but even then it would end up off center. I finally thought to readjust the placement of the buckle that you use to adjust the collar size (over time, I had resized the collar several times to accommodate his longer and then shorter coats between groomings and the buckle migrated closer and closer to the device itself if that makes any sense). Apparently, the buckle has just enough weight to affect where the device falls on your dogs neck at least on a small dog it does. It took a lot of fussing with but I eventually found a sweet spot, which for my dog, falls some place between the device itself and a bit closer to the latch that locks the collar together. Now the device hangs perfectly center on his neck once more and is working like it had when I first started using it. On a plus side, I now have two batteries... Hopefully I'll save someone else the frustration and expense of a new battery or worse, a new collar!

We tried spraying bark collars and ultrasonic bark busters. They both worked at suppressing our little terrier's bark urges for a short time until he learned to ignore them. The spray collar needed to be refilled daily and the batteries only lasted a few weeks. Eventually it didn't stop him from barking. The ultrasonic device was completely ignored after a few weeks.

We then tried a larger 6v shock collar that was just too painful for him. Then we tried this little 3v collar and it works great.

Pro: The dog doesn't bark much any more and he doesn't scream in pain when corrected.

Cons: The on/off switch is a little cumbersome to use and the batteries are not rechargeable but they have not needed to be replaced yet after using it for two months.

It is the best bark control device for a small dog that I have found.

My small mixed-breed rescue dog would not quit barking at anything that moved and there seemed to be nothing we could do to get her to stop. We have a small fenced in area and a doggie door so my three small dogs can come and go as they wish. Every time one of the neighbors would go outside to mow or even talk Tinker would start barking and the only way to get her to stop was to lock her in the bedroom if we were home. I bought this collar for $99 at PetSmart after one of my neighbors threatened to call the police if I didn't do something about her. As soon as I put it on her she seemed to be a completely different dog. She must have tried barking at some point when I wasn't near and she learned quickly there was a penalty for barking as I barely heard a sound from her for several days. Even though the other two dogs I have would bark when I came home she would remain completely silent. After a week I heard her bark only once or twice when some strange dogs came into the yard. Watching her I did not see any sort of discomfort after a bark but it was like she knew she had a limit. We had tried a cheaper bark collar on a different dog about 10 years ago and it wasn't near as smart as this collar is. That one would go off just from the vibrations of the dog running up the stairs and we had to quit using it. Tinker seems just as happy as before but a lot quieter, we are happy it works, and our neighbors are very happy that they can enjoy the outdoors again without being subjected to the unending yapping. I would diffinately buy it again and I am even thinking of getting one for each of the other 2 dogs because even though they don't bark near as much it doesn't seem fair that they get to bark still and Tinker doesn't.

I have two 13 pound shih tzu bichons and let me tell you, they can get yippy at times. I have bought 2 other bark collars that did not work at all. Then, my dog trainer recommended this collar. Lo and behold, it works! You don't even have to set this collar on any level, it automatically does that. The only thing I recommend is if you have 2 dogs, always put the same collar on the same dog because it remembers the previous level of correction. It works by automatically increasing the level of correction until the dog stops barking, then remembers the last level of correction that the dog stops barking on. It has been very effective for both of my dogs and I'm impressed. It's finally quiet around here! One last note, this thing is very light weight and small and fits perfectly on the dogs neck.

As opposed to other similar products this collar is specifically designed for a small dog. Our maltese is only 9 pounds and proportionally it fits very well. The electronics are sophisticated enough that each small appropriate bark is not responded to with a correction. If the dog's barking is sustained she gets a correction. My only difficulty is keeping the small unit centered on her neck without making the collar too tight, but other than that the product works well and I would recommend it.

I'm sure this would hold up great for its intended purpose (puppies).

I, however, bought it as an outdoor playpen for my two rabbits, who immediately chewed their way out. But, after some minor adjustments (sewing the zippers together), they are happy and safe.

Highlights:

*Super portable -Easily pops up and collapses away again

*Versatile -Top screen and bottom panels zip on or off (I leave the bottom out so my rabbits can chew the grass)

*Loops -Corners have loops to stake pen to the ground like a tent

*Bottle Holder -There is a hole for the nozzle to slip through and an elastic band to securely hold the bottle on the outside of the pen

*Storage -There are also pockets on the outside to store treats, etc.

One of our greyhounds has suffered for years with anxiety thunder drove her into fits. For three years we have had her on anxiety medication and it still did not stop her shivering fits over thunder and fireworks. Then we did an consultation with a pet therapyst and she suggested we try this product. It has had amazing results!!!!! Our dog is now off the expensive sedatives and is very calm and relaxed!!!! I highly recommend this product I don't know where we would be without it!

We recently adopted a German Shepherd after the death of our dog, "Bandit", from the same rescue organization from which we adopted Bandit. "Babe" was a much more nervous dog than Bandit due to the fact that she had spent the last two years outside and was having trouble adjusting to being inside all day. Plus, my husband and I are gone all day at work and have a long commute. I suggested that we try the canine version of this product that had worked so well for our cat, Calvin. Within hours of activating it, Babe began to calm down and stopped whining as much. She is no longer thrown into a panic when my husband leaves the house she is very much daddy's girl! About four weeks after we first plugged the product in, I noticed that Babe had resumed her nervous whiny ways, pacing around anxiously. I noticed that the Comfort Zone needed refilling, and restocked it. Within hours, Babe was calm once again. Thus, I can gladly say this product does work well both the feline and canine versions and would recommend it to anyone who needs to calm and comfort their pet without the use of drugs.

My dog became frightened of loud noises in 2003 after a bad accident. I tried everything from drugs, therapy, and training but his anxiety kept climbing, to the point that he seriously hurt himself, because he was so disoriented. To top this off, after a storm or fireworks (anything really loud) he would continue to be stressed for DAYS and have chronic, uncontrolled diarrhea afterward.

In 2005, Doctors said there wasn't anything further that could be done and then I found the DAP program in Europe and ordered it. It came with the diffuser, spray, training book (just tells you how to use everything), and a training DVD (has lots of sounds and lights).

Now (2007 almost 2 years of usage), he can sit still/quite or lay down during most of the noise and small storms no longer bother him at all; heck, he even goes outside during them! After the big storms/fireworks/noises he is completely fine in about 10 minutes instead of days. When he gets excited with the loud cracks of thunder or the whistling fireworks, I give him the spray, which relieves him immediately; otherwise the diffuser is all he needs. He still doesn't like storms & fireworks and I still use a leash & sit with him (and train him). He still cries, whines and paces (for a few minutes) but NO LONGER become disoriented, shivers, pees, vomits or climb the walls. He is controllable and getting back to his old self again!

If you need help with your pet's anxiety, I highly recommend this product in combination with the spray, a leash and repetitive training It is somewhat new for the USA but, ask your doctor about it and make sure you work with your dog too. Refills sold at Amazon are the best price around that I've found.

I've tried this with a nervous older dog and a brand new puppy, and I can say, this delivers on promises. Very little whimpering with a new puppy, and my older dog lost a lot of her fear of certain situations. Definitely worth a try for your problem dog...

This product was delivered promptly and totally as advertised. So the merchant did a really good job. I question the effectiveness of the product itself. I have had them plugged in for over a month and have noticed no difference in my hyper-dogs' behaviour. However it may just be my dogs as I have friends who have had very good results with this product.
