I like this crate. It's got lots of bells and whistles. The matching bed, foldability, wheels, a handle, and a bag if you want to use it. The reasons why it doesn't get 5 stars: The garage door is sometimes a bit finicky. Not too bad, but can take more than one try to open or close. Note that the crate does not have as much stability with the "garage door" open. The crate is very stable when all doors are closed. The hubby has put the crate in the cargo area so that I can only use the garage doors, so I cannot speak as to the other doors at this time. The crate does rattle when you are driving, but a completely wire crate will rattle much more, I am sure.

That said, I've been using it for my rambunctious Samoyed puppy for 2 months (10 months old to 1 year old now) and it serves it purpose bringing him to grooming, classes, shows and vet visits. And, to make the hubby happy, the color matches the interior of the vehicle, so it was woth it getting a color that makes him happy. All in all, pleased with the item.

Shipping: Packed well & arrived in good condition.

Assembly: The panels slide & lock together, took no time at all to assemble. Came with spare parts for the slide-click-together hardware,

which was good, since one was broken. This is the ONLY plastic part in the product, and is easily swapped with a philips screwdriver.

Tools: None required, but helpful to have a #2 Philips screwdriver, and maybe a small mallet to tap in the door's metal hinge-pins.

Materials: Metal hinges and door-latch, high-quality furniture-grade materials (not Ikea-style veneer), solid wood.

Finish: Furniture-grade finish, but is more of a brown-mahogany than red-mahogany. (Would also match Walnut furniture).

Sizing: My small-ish beagle could probably have fit in the small unit, but ordered the medium, as per size-chart, since she was borderline on the charts.

Dog: was happily snoring inside within 5 minutes of assembly.

Value: This was more money than the other solutions out there, but is completely furniture-grade, and solid wood. Nothing cheap-feeling about it!

Improvement Wish/Tip: I wish there were some clips inside to hide/slash the slide-in door slat. Wound up wrapping the slats in

some of the packing material, and placing UNDER the dog-bed.

Overall: Big thumbs up! Fits in perfectly with high-end furniture in the Living Room.

Bought this for our move to a new house, it's roomier then the small carrier we bought from Target originally (also Petmate).

My big gamble on this kennel was that I bought it for my cat. That she did not manage to rip it apart in the first few minutes is a big plus, but I wonder for other cat owners. If your cat gets really crazy when you manage to get them in a carrier this may not be for you. My cat weighs 11.5 lbs, just over the suggested limit for the kennel, but it worked well.

I bought this product so she could have a safe place while adjusting to our new house, it's got a thin cushion inside that she pushed this way and that but the big thing was she was able to rest in this, versus being hunched uncomfortably in her old one.

I give five starts because this product performed well for the task I gave it, I may buy something a little sturdier for our vet visits but we'll see.

I do recommend this kennel for small dogs, the design is great, it comes zipped in a compact shape great for storage purposes and is easy to put together (unless you have no patience for attaching zippers to each other). I still have mine out around the house for now, but I'm looking forward to being able to stow it away in the garage soon!

We travel by car a lot with our cat and we have gone through several carriers that just did not work. I was looking for something comfortable and easy but still sturdy and functional. I read a lot of reviews on this carrier and that everyone's cat loved it, so I bought it. When I first got it, I left it around the house, open, so kitty could go inside and explore. He ended up taking many naps in it, so that was a relief. Then it was time to hit the road. Kitty peed in it in the first hour (which he's never done before) and it was really easy to clean up. It did not leak and contained the pee in the bottom. Washed it up in the gas station bathroom and we continued on our way. For the remaining trips, we let him out so he could go inside the carrier as he pleased, and he did. I think he feels protected in this but also comfortable. I love how sturdy it is when I carry him inside it. The "airport approved" canvas carriers did not hold up well at all, so this was nice to see. It collapses easily and is simple to store. Overall I am really happy I found this carrier. Goodbye hard plastic and canvas carriers!

I purchased two and have found them to be a "safe house" that the dogs enjoy going in and out at will even when we are not traveling. A little hard to zip at first but gets better with use.

Honest reviews on Petmate 21787 Curvations Cat and Dog Retreat Kennel and Carrier

only used it once, but saves space and the kitty actually got back into it i think she was ready to go from the vet, but she didn't do that with the other carrier; cat is 12 lbs; the product is soft all overso far so good!

I rescued a kitten from the shelter, they told me she got left there in a carrier for 5 days and now screams when placed in one. i saw this carrier at a vet's office and the cat seemed so content even with dogs around her. when the owner told me where to buy one i did but had trouble getting exact dimensions on various models. They are supposed to hold 10 lbs. but both my rescue kittens fit in nicely, weigh more together but it seems strong and is very easy to carry.

Nice heavy dish for our gerbil. Bit big, but he likes it and doesn't knock it over. Holding up so far. Since it's stable and he doesn't chew on it, it should last a while.

I use this in my hedgehog cage and so far he hasn't tipped it over. The ergonomic design makes it easier for him to eat out of and it is an attractive, sturdy dish. I got the blue and it is a nice soft color.

I recently adopted two female Guinea pigs (Dandelion and Burdock) and needed a solution to their habit of knocking their food dish about and spilled pellets everywhere! I purchased this bowl in the large size and it's amazing! It hold the perfect amount of food for two piggies, is easy for them to eat from and stays put even when Burdie stands on it! The dusty pink color is beautiful for two girly pigs and the quality of ceramic is excellent!

Love and definitely recommend!

I'd been using a rice bowl to feed a guinea pig left with me, and she kept tipping it over. This never tips and she has no trouble eating out of it.

The glaze on the dishes is not nearly as bright as pictured. The actual bowls are more of an olive color. DEFINITELY NOT the beautiful lime green pictured. The glaze is uneven and the quality is poor. They serve their purpose as cat dishes, but not what I had expected.

***EDIT*** It also arrived with a small crack along the inside, and the dish has been leaking water slowly. Now it's a dry food dish only. Not impressed!!

We recently traded in our motor home for an airstream. Now we needed something for the cat to travel in inside the car for 10+ hours. We also travel with 2 dogs. The provided the perfect place for out cat to be safe, get away from the dogs and still see out. This is soooo much better than out normal cat carrier where she cannot sit up.

This is really, really well made and comes with its own storage case. I do like that it collapses to take up less space once we get to our destination. We were not able to install it on the seat with the seatbelts because our back seats are bucket seats. However, I was able to turn it 90 degrees to make it more stable on the seat and use the tie down loops to secure it to the seat. This worked fine because I could easily load the cat into the shelter from the door.

The cat did not mind being in the shelter and would get in on her own when were able to leave it open. I really appreciate the comfort pad being included. Its needed to help stabilize the bottom of the carrier.

This was a bit expensive but worth it. I am also sure it will last for many years so its a good investment.

Reviews of Pet Buddies PB4500 Pooch Treat House, Interactive Treat Dispenser

Pet Buddies PB4500 Pooch Treat House, Interactive Treat Dispenser

eh, things I don't like about this treat house:

1. if the ball does not hit right, sometimes no treat will pop out.

2. a lot of the time, more than one treat pops out when the ball is dropped.

3. my dog can stick her tongue in the treat dispenser and get treats that way instead of using the ball.

4. there is no helping it stay up right on carpet.

things that are good/included on this treat house:

1. spike for outdoor use, and suction pads to keep upright on tile/wood floor if your dog tries to tip it.

2. something to teach your dog, providing mental simulation and exercise, that will not be a wasteful skill (as compared to other 'dog puzzles' this treat house will teach your dog the skill of picking up and placing, which is awesome and can be used to achieve other useful commands (eg. put up toys, bring me keys).

personally, the ball was a little too big for my chi-weenie. she is good at pulling the ball in if I set it on top of the house however she's stubborn and doesnt want to pick the ball up to drip it in (yet). If your dog loves carrying things in his mouth then you might be able to train him to use this house easier than me and my dog.

I got this and it was much smaller than I thought it would be, guess I should have looked for the dimensions. It does have suction cups on the bottom, but they dont hold it that well if you have a bigger dog. I have a GSD, and she plays this game, but I dont think she could use the toy without direct supervison. It is made out of hard plastic that would cause some real damage if it were chewed on or broken. I will use it for the new puppy coming as it is the right size for a puppy. I made my own treat dispenser that works like this toy does using a cardboard box, and an empty soda bottle. I just thought that this one looked nicer, but I guess, I could take my time and fix up the box to look better as well (for free). I am giving four stars because it works as described.

Best Deals for Pet Buddies PB4500 Pooch Treat House, Interactive Treat Dispenser

The picture is very misleading In the photo there is a baby husky, and huskys are still big as babies.

I bought this for my labrador, thinking it would be a little bigger, but it is about 6 inches tall, and extremely light.

You also cant use any other ball but the one it came withThe one is came with is very heavy, and hard for my dog to toss around, so she never plays with it. She got the concept of dropping it in and getting a treat, but when she used her normal tennis balls and the treat wouldn't come out, she got stressed.

She also got the concept that if you step in the hole or stick your tongue up the little treathole you can get your food to come out.

It also only works with the tiny milkbones, not the regular sized ones. I would have to break her treats up.

It also only works half the time.

So, end the end, it sucks. Don't waste money on it.

Honest reviews on Pet Buddies PB4500 Pooch Treat House, Interactive Treat Dispenser

I agree with the other reviewers this is not the best product for big dogs! For small & medium sized dogs, though, this toy is great! The tennis ball that's included is pretty easily destroyed, though, so be prepared to substitute your own.

My dog isn't really big on this, the sound of the ball going down the house makes a little racket which scares my medium sized dog. Also the suction on the bottom feet portion is pretty weak, so it's easy to knock over. After a while my dog would just stick her tongue into the food dispensing hole and eat the kibbles that way.

After trying 3 different gates (that all had high ratings on Amazon), this is my favorite. I turned my home into my own version of a baby gate showroom to figure out which one I wanted, so here's my take on three different gates.

I think they are all pretty good gates, it just depends on your situation and what features you're looking for. The key features that ended up making a difference to me were 1) the width of the gate opening and 2) the latch mechanism

Kidco Center Gateway:

---------------------

cost $85 & extensions $24 / gate is 29.5" Tall / fits 29.25" to 37.5" doorway width / 1" bar to step over / gate opening 22"

Has the widest gate opening (the space you walk thru, not the doorway that it fits into) of any of them about 22". (This certainly won points from my 6'2" husband who was pretty irritated when walking thru some of the others). I was surprised after reading so many reviews on all these gates that there wasn't more mention of this feature.

This one also had the most secure latch feature. You have to push a button to lift the handle and lift the gate over a little ledge to open it and walk thru. I figure this will absolutely be the hardest one for my little one to figure out.

This gate has the most adjustable widths and therefore would probably be the strongest in most door widths. The gate has about 2.75" pieces on the ends that you can use or not with the optional extensions (more 2.75" spindles as additions 2 per box) to provide the most width flexibility. Because all the gates become "weaker" if the posts are extended too much, this one seems the sturdiest in my doorways. (ie. if the gate says it fits up to 37" and your door opening is 36.5", it won't seem as sturdy as if the doorway was 34").

It doesn't have its brand name printed on it anywhere (a plus in my book) so it's totally white.

It has the lowest bar across the floor that you have to step over at only 1" high (seems less of a tripping risk).

This is the one that has the highest rating from Consumer Reports. (Child safety gates 08/04)

Unfortunately, it also is the most expensive of the bunch at about $85 + any extensions you need.

I do have to say that this one had the most confusing directions, but you can still figure it out ok none of them took longer than 10 minutes to set up.

It's the shortest gate and I wish it was a little taller.

All in all, if you can afford the price of this one, it's definitely worth it!

Summer Infant Sure & Secure Extra Tall Gate

---------------------------------------------

cost $60 & extensions included / gate is 36" Tall / fits 28"-48" doorway width / 2" bar to step over / gate opening 19"

This is the one that I wanted to like because I thought it was the best deal.

The gate opening is about 19" which I thought was ok, but hubby wanted wider.

The latch mechanism is really easy to operate and I thought kids could figure it out easily, but because the gate is so tall, they would probably have a hard time reaching it.

It does come with its own extensions in 5" and 10" so it more easily fits the wider doorways.

However, depending on the width of your doorway, this one may or may not fit as well. For example, I had a lot of doorways that are about 33" and this gate didn't end up fitting well in them because the gate without any extensions was too small and the posts had to be extended so far it didn't seem stable. And the 5" extension was too big to add. (vs. the kidco gate's extensions add 2.75" as needed).

It's by far the tallest and I liked that since my daughter has been in the 95% so far. I also just like the way the taller gate looks.

It does have the highest bar across the bottom to step over 2".

If it fits well in your doorway it is probably the best value for the money.

First Years Hands-Free Gate

-----------------------------

cost $50 & extensions $15 / gate is 32" Tall / fits 29"-34" doorway width / 1.5" bar to step over / gate opening 17"

My gripe with this gate was primarily because the gate opening is only 17" wide! I'm 5'8" and I felt like I was going to have to really pay attention walking through it so I wouldn't end up bumping it every time. However...

The hands-free step pedal is pretty cool and worked pretty easily. I wouldn't worry about a little kid figuring it out and having enough weight to be able to push it down to open it. For me it just wasn't cool enough to overcome my issue with the gate opening width.

Good height to the gate.

It was very sturdy in my doorway.

This one did have a little ramp feature for the bar that goes across the floor that helps minimize the tripping factor.

Fits only up to 34" doorways so has the best chance of needing an extension.

All that being said, if you really want a hands free gate, and the width of the gate opening doesn't bug you, try this one.

All three gates seemed to:

Fit pretty tightly in the doorways after being adjusted properly. Depending on your walls and if you have moldings etc, you might need to take an extra 5-10 minutes to adjust them and get them straight and hanging correctly.

Had the same type of post for the pressure-mount that is covered with a rubbery material to help it not slip on the wall.

Were pretty easy to set up.

All look about the same from a quality point of view in other words one of them didn't look "cheaper" to me than the others.

Please remember that for safety, only hardware mounted gates are considered stable enough to put at the top of stairs, so don't use any of these for that. Think about how you will use these gates in your house and what features you will value. Good luck with your own purchase!

We bought this gate to use with our 13 month old and were very excited not have to install hardware to the wall. It was up for about 24 hours when I heard the baby cring that cry that you know they are in pain. I found her at the gate, both knees were wedged between the vertical poles. I managed to get one knee out but had to put vegtable oil on the other one to free it. She of course was screaming the whole time and her knees were bruised. Very nice design but I bought it for safety and that's not what I got. The company said they just shortened the space between the rails, but I think it's too close now seeing how her knees got stuck. Good luck to anyone trying to keep little ones out of harms way. That's a job in itself.

Best Deals for KidCo Center Gateway

I needed a gate that would not only stop my adventurous climber but be easy enough for my 9 and 5 year olds to manage. It is so sturdy my 12 month old is not able to pull it down (hard as he tries) and it with-stood 7 nine year old boys going up and down the stairs at my son's birthday party. I've had other swing open gates, but this one is the best so far!

Honest reviews on KidCo Center Gateway

We bought this gate because we have an old school thin metal banister on one side of our steep stairs coupled with a 6 inch tall molding on the wall on the other side, and it was very hard to find a solution to keep our one year old from speeding up the steps at will. We originally bought a cheapo that worked fine but I couldn't stand having to move it every time I was going up or coming down with my arms full, so we started shopping around.

This Kidco center gate has been WONDERFUL so far because of the expandability (we didn't need the extension), the four independent spindles (which make for an extremely tight fit), and a 3 step process to open the gate (although frustrating, its also way more comforting knowing she can't open it).

I definitely recommend it for those who don't mind spending and are able to spend more (the cheapo is already very distorted from moving it around so much) for a gateway that is so simple you can set it up while your baby is playing with you and your husband is putting away the groceries!

Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for KidCo Center Gateway

My mother and Father-In-Law have this gate at the top of their staircase and my 2 year old has figured out how to open it. However, my 10 month old has not had any problems with it. The design is nice, but it was somewhat difficult to install, and seems to need adjusting quite often. We have a spring-loaded gate at home that has stayed in place, but does not swing open. I would recommend this gate if you have a child that is not yet able to climb to a standing position or pull up on it.

NFL Green Bay Packers Pet Jersey Review

Green Bay Packers Pet Jersey, Small
Customer Ratings: 4 stars

This item apparently came from Petco. Beware of Petco's return policy!

I ordered a large thinking "large" dog. There were NO descriptions that clarified what size dog this jersey would fit. When I recieved what I was hoping to put on a lab mix, I received a jersey that I'm not sure would fit on a beagle. I tried to return it and got a response from Petco saying I could return it to the nearest Petco for a refund. I live nearly 2 hours from any Petco or any other major stores, that's why I use Amazon for my shopping. I explained to them in another e-mail that I would spend more in gas than I would get for the return. I got two very conflicting responses, see below.

First Response which I thought was above and beyond since I had offered to pay return shipping:

"I sincerely apologize for the delay in this email response. I have requested a full refund from our Upper Management for Amazon.com Order #103-7067831-3218656 and you should be able to receive a confirmation email once processed. It should post to your Amazon account in 3 5 business days. Please keep the product or donate it as we will no longer be picking it up."

Second Response which I'm assuming was the last one I will receive. I was not very happy about as we were back to square one:

"I hope this doesn't pose any inconvenience to you. Our Marketing Department have verified that we sent out the correct item on your order and we regret to inform you that the refund request has been denied."

My argument was never that they sent me the wrong item, my dispute was that the item was not adequately described. Had they stuck with their first response, I would have continued to shop at Petco, and would have recommended everyone I know with pets do the same. However, seeing them do an about face as they have, I will never recommend them, nor will I continue to shop there myself.

Now I'm setting out to see if I can find a small terrier, or such dog that I can give the Jersey to, since my return was denied.

I also learned that Amazon who normally has the most fantastic return policies I've ever seen, does not really support you when you order from other stores on their website. I was not very happy about that as well.

I don't think anything could be much cuter than my Yorkie, Fred, in his Green Bay Packers jersey! I will upload photos once my camera battery recharges, but trust me, the sight of Fred showing his support for the Green and Gold is in the realm of cuteness overload!

Now for the nitty gritty...yes, my dog is small. He weighs 3.7 pounds, but has some length to his body (he measures 10" from base of neck to base of tail). If you are looking for a shirt for a tiny teacup, this is probably going to be too large. It is just a hair too long for Fred, but not bad and the raised tummy hem is raised just enough to accommodate Fred's...ummm..."package." I don't think it would be that big of a deal to hem and for the price, well-worth a few stitches.

The graphics on the jersey are perfect and high-quality would they survive hot water washing and tossing in the dryer? Probably not and care instructions are to hand-wash in cold water and tumble dry on low which I will be doing to ensure Fred many years of cheering on his favorite team!
