This is an ideal toy for a dog who usually pulls the stuffing/filling out of a typical stuffed dog toyBECAUSE IT IS MADE *UNSTUFFED*

It is also better than giving them a cheaply made rubber toy that will be destroyed quickly.

( Not to mention some dog/child toys are imported from China and sadly, toxic paint and other materials have been found on them)

This product for dogs is like a stuffed animalwithout any stuffing.

So when you get it, it is flat fabric, meant to resemble an animal. It is similar to a long,flat gym sock.

Most dogs that like to swing,fling, or whip toys around, will enjoy this item.

Always supervise your pets when playing with toys, because even an "unstuffed" toy like this( which has 2 mini squeakers inside) can eventually come apart with wear and tear.

The main danger is typically the choking hazard the squeaker or material could present.

If you have a dog content to carry, fling, or gently suck or nibble at this kind of toy( not rip or shred it with their teeth) this should work well.

I cannot emphasize enough that you should have an eye on your dog(s) when you give them a toy to play with and put the toy(s) away somewhere when done; where only you have access to them and can hand them out when you are around to supervise.

Many a time, I caught my dogs just as they had ripped the stitching out of a dog toy and I promptly tossed that toy in the garbage.

If I had not seen it, the next step would have been either stuffing coming out or the destruction of fabric and possible attempt to eat it.

Once there is a riphole or stitching coming undonedo your dog and yourself a favor, and just throw it out and get a new toy.

Take note of which ones are on the hairy side. Some dogs gag on hairy stuffed toys if it bothers their mouth/throat. I prefer a toy with minimal furriness to it.

***WARNING***

Please....PLEASE take away the "safe" no stuffing dog toys away from your large dogs. On Friday night, Indiana had very severe stomach surgery to remove a blockage in his stomach. The Doctor called me after the sugery to update me. She said the surgery went well, he was recovering. The item removed from his stomach....a no stuffing squirrel, WHOLE.

We figured he was chewing on it, it got in his throat, he panicked and swallowed it. This is a dog that doesn't eat anything. We have never had any problems with him eating Ethan's toys, other dog toys, paper, etc and he ended up with an entire toy lodged in his stomach.

The company claims it to be the "safest" dog toy, but in fact it is not. If this happened to my dog, it can easily happen to yours. To avoid something terrible happening to your dog, please take away these toys.

I'm so upset with the claim that this is the "safest" dog toy. I think I'm going to try and bring this more public to avoid this freak accident happening to other pets and to avoid the claim that this is a "safe" toy.

Indiana is recovering, but it's going to be at least two weeks of laying low and another two after that to get back to normal. They had to cut through 3 layers of stomach, muscle and skin to extract the large toy. This was invasive, painful, expensive and something I don't want someone else to have to go through.

I was about ready to return this but I thought I would contact the company first. The bumper setup is very puzzling and appeared to not work. I decided to look back at some of the amazon reviews that I remembered addressing this problem.

The directions are very minimalist--just what's on the outside of the box. They don't explain how the bumpers function and the few reviews that address the problem are not all that clear either. I will have a go at it and also try to attach some photos.

It's actually an ingenious sytem. The biggest downside is you could lose the bumpers when the gate is not in use because they really do not screw in and are not meant to.

When you get the gate, the bumpers are not attached. Screw the big knob of each bumper so that all the plastic parts come together and take up the least amount of space. But don't screw them real tight or they'll be hard to adjust later. Insert the bumpers in their holes. The first two I did, seemed to be screwing in and that threw me off when the other two obviously didn't. But I found out all the bumpers could be pulled out of their holes easily by hand.

With the bumpers in this low-profile position, expand the gate to fit your doorway and screw in the adjustment knobs that are on the gate itself. The gate may not even stand in place by itself, don't worry, just get the best fit you can.

Now, holding the gate in place, start screwing those big knobs on the bumpers toward the center of the gate--not toward the wall. This is what exerts the pressure to hold the gate in place.

Once I figured this out, I found that the gate holds in place VERY well. If you work the bumpers right, a person tripping on it is going to fall before the gate will fall (be forewarned).

Granted, I have not had this up very long but I have pushed and shoved it a lot and I have a lot of experience with baby gates. It will easily accommodate uneven openings. It did make a screeching sort of noise when I took it off the wall, making me think it could affect paint or wallpaper upon removal. That is not a big deal for me.

I agree that the mini-dog-walk-through-gate is not easy or convenient to latch so if you want to be opening/shutting it frequently, maybe this is not the gate for you.

We purchased two of these right after we got our 3 mo. old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. We were desperate to try something after too many trips over our too-tall baby gate and tiring of adjusting the darned thing. I was worried that our bouncy puppy might be able to jump over the Four Paws gate, but our solution was to raise it about two inches (low enough so that he can't go under). We've had the gates for about a month, they're perfect and exactly what we needed! We can all easily step over it (even the kids), the cats can hop over, and we simply open the handy little gate when we want the pup to have access to the other areas.

Unlike other reviewers, we have had no problems with marring of the doorways or difficulty in adjusting the gates. Our puppy did try to chew the gate at first, but I just sprayed it with a little bitter apple and that solved the problem. We have found the gates to be well-made, sturdy, attractive (as much as a gate can be) and quite easy to use. Thank you Four-Paws for making our lives MUCH easier!

I needed a gate that allows me to keep my small dogs out of a room but short enough to step over and to allow my disabled cat to get over. The gate is perfect. It is secure in the door which allows my disabled cat to land on the top and then go over. It could be stained to match any wood type or painted. I no longer bang my shin on the gate when I step over yet my dogs can't jump over into the room. My only complaint is that the pin to latch the door is cludgy.

The gate was exactly what I wanted for our little 8 lb dog. However, when putting it together found that the side hardwear that pushes against wall did not match the hardwear that is shown in the picture. What I received were big plastic screws that had to be screwed in from inside the door. Therefore the gate door would not close. I do not know if this was just a one-time mistake at the warehouse or if all the gates are prepacked this way. I did send it back and would love to reorder it if I knew I would not get the same thing again. I was very disappointed. I would have given this a 5 star rating if there was not this problem. Maybe I will take a chance and reorder it again as it was so perfect.

I ordered this gate because it was exactly what I was looking for. Started to set it up, no instructions except for what's on the back of the box (very minimal), but I figured how hard could it be? After 4 different attempts at making the bumper bolts work, I was very frustrated and about to send the darn thing back. Then I looked at the reviews again and found the solution!

Find the 4-star review written by alooknac from Montana. She does a great job at explaining how the bumpers are supposed to work. Once you get them on right, the gate works like a charm. My gate didn't have the exact same hardware as in the pictures, either. Don't take the "nuts" off the bumper bolts, just stick them as is in the holes. Adjust your gate to the right length for your doorway. Then turn the nuts AWAY from the bumpers, toward the gate, to tighten. TA-DA!!

Used with two small dogs. The dogs were using "pee pads" ocassionaly. They did their business ok but when the pad was washed it too a long time to dry the dogs would not go no the wet surface. Also, if used in a confined spot there was a stog urine odour even though it was washed daily.

We are back to the "pee pads" and the two Potty Patchs are back in their boxes.

I was really hoping this would work with my 2.5-3 month old miniature schnauzer. The one pro that I found was that my puppy would consistently go on the potty patch and treated it like it was the grass. However the engineering of it is BEYOND terrible. I would like to think that most people know that puppies chew and bite and pull on things. If you are using this to train your puppy and can watch him/her at all times, it could probably work well. But if you are leaving her alone with the potty patch, it could potentially become a big terrible mess, like it did for me for the 2 weeks I tried it. My puppy pulled all three parts apart from each other because they were so easy to separate. The 2 top pieces seem to just sit and wiggle on the plastic bottom. I even tried creating little holes in the parts to tie them together. I also tried buying industrial strength velcro to attach the parts together and to the floor as well. My puppy easily chewed through the artificial grass each day when I returned home from work, she had chewed off another square inch of grass with the grass all over the room. The three pieces were scattered and the grass was flipped over. Inevitably it was poop and pee everywhere as well.

If anything I hope the makers of Potty Patch think of a way to use better materials and find a way to keep the 3 parts removably attached to each other. Another very important note: this is NON returnable/refundable.

I should have known better....not worth the money. I could have boughten a piece of grass carpet and put it on a boot tray!

My dog is afraid of it because it moves all over the tray and makes noises. Maybe it would be OK for a puppy that you are just house breaking, but not a dog that is trained or used to something else.

We bought this, excited our schnoodle and shih tzu would have a place to potty other than on our kitchen floor while we're gone. So far the parts all slide apart too easily, and the only use the Shih Tzu has made of it is to use it for a nap pad.

We've tried putting a pile of their poop on it and rubbing the top of it in a pee puddle of theirs, but they ignore it.

I have a Lhasa Apso and a Shih Tzu who readily use "pee pee pads". They never even sniffed this waste of cash & the earth's resources. Save your money! The grassy portion slips and slides all over the plastic pieces... It is incredibly cheap, brittle plastic... And worst of all, after 3 months it was never used. Just pitched it into the dumpster yesterday. Glad to see it go!

When I first bought this in May of 2008 (see original review below), we ended up donating it to the local shelter because my dog didn't use it. Now that we have added a second dog, we figured maybe the new dog would like to have it.

We liked the quality of the pad the first time, so without hesitation we bought the item again.

What a DISAPPOINTMENT!! The quality has gone way down!!! The best feature of the pad (the wrapped cord) that used to be completely covered by a flat wire (like a ribbon), now has a wire that looks like one of those spiral notebook wires, very flimsy NOT CHEW PROOF ANYMORE! Also, the heat setting is way higher, so it can get quite hot I'm not sure if that is safe. I'm lowering my rating from 4 to 1.5 stars, had no idea how much the product changed! It still works, but between the changes in the cord and heat, I'm not sure if it is safe.

The best thing about this heater is that it is well made, good craftsmanship. It is made of stiff plastic, and it has a wire that protects the cord against being chewed. My dog lives indoors, but seemed to always be cold during the winter, so I bought this heater to put under his dog bed to warm it up.

It didn't work that way, the heat was too low to warm up through the foam of the dog bed. To give you an idea of the temperature, it was similar to the lowest setting of a car seat-warmer. It was nice, but for some reason my dog just wouldn't lay on it, so I ended up donating it to the local animal shelter.

PROS: Good quality, sturdy materials, wrapped cord

CONS: My dog didn't like it :(

CAUTION--The K & H Lectro Kennel Heating pad was used by my veterinarian to keep my dog warm during a dental procedure while she was anesthetized. The K & H heating pad malfunctioned and kept getting hotter and hotter causing my sweet beautiful 10 pound dog to get very seriously burned--2nd and 3rd degree burns on both sides of her body. She went through a very difficult and long recovery process that is still healing.

I wanted to find out how this happened and called K & H customer service directly. They asked me to have the veterinarian send back the heating pad promising they would test it. They then informed me that the shipping depatment "mistakenly" threw out the pad without ever testing it. They blamed the veterinarian for not using the product properly. Please make sure the product is used correctly. The temp control should not be optional. The manufacturer K & H Pet product's customer service was insensitive, self protective, evasive, duplicitious and dishonest. NOT ACCEPTABLE. IT DESERVES NO STARS.

I live in a moderate climate (nothern California). I bought one of these in 2003 to keep my Boxer warm on sunless cold winter days. It worked well until one day when I accidentally stepped on it. The pad cracked along the corner edge of the long side. There does not seem to be an easy way to repair it. I'm not a big guy (150 lbs) and the pad was not exposed to sunlight (lived in the dogloo). I feel like I got a few good years out of it but I'd expect it to be a bit sturdier for $60.

Bad mistake. Trying to save a buck, I departed from the tried and tested and ordered two of these K&H Lectro Kennels in August and September 2009 for two indoor cats who enjoy basement life during the winter months. The large lasted only 6 months. The fleece cover has been washed several times but is still like new. It has not been dropped, abused or damaged in any way.

"You get what you pay for."

Lectro Kennels are very poor quality. From the flimsy feel, there does not appear to be any insulation inside the unit at all as is found with better quality brands. They are cheaply made in China.

I have two of the red, KANE Pet Heating Mats, made in USA, that are 8 and 11 years old and are used outdoors in sheds and barns for cats. Both still work like new, although the coiled wire protecting the cord has rusted a bit. They are more expensive by about 50%, but are very well constructed, rigid and durable and the rheostat is included. I just ordered another. They are also available from Amazon.Com. Under SPORTS & OUTDOORS, search HUNTING: PET HEATING MAT.

Saving money up front is not always a bargain if the product lasts only 6 months as compared to one that lasts for a decade or longer.

And allowing pets to freeze in winter is not an option.

UPDATE 10/28/13

ALL OF MY KANE HEATING MATS are still working fine and remain solid and safe after 14 years.

I just ordered another. Amazon now refers to Valley Vet Supply as an external website.

The prices have increased but you get what you pay for.

The coil protective wire around the cord is now made of stainless steel.

Stray cats keep showing up around here when it gets cold. That's not surprising since we give them the best.

Anyone who owns cats knows they are finicky. I have purchased beds, sacks, kitty condos, and cushions in the past. With few exceptions, they have been rejected by one or both of my brood. One of my two cats is almost 19 and she had been seeking extra warmth by curling up on a heating vent. Because of these reasons, only 1 of these was purchased at first. This was a mistake, since there were almost fights to get in the heated bed. I quickly had to purchase another to make everyone happy. Now both cats have made these beds their sleeping place of choice at night, even over sleeping with us. It seems the very low wattage heats the bed perfectly for them and keeps them happy. Buying a heated bed was somewhat of a concern, since I worried that it might burn the cat. Since 4 watts seemed extremely low, I decided to try it and it works perfectly. The bed is barely warm to the touch if not covered and feels comfortably warm after a cat has just slept there. No hot spots were noted. After several weeks of use, I can highly recommend this bed. One note, both of my cats are smaller than normal at only 6 lbs, so this size is perfect for them. A larger version would be suggested for larger cats.

16 inches is really not that big. My small female sleeps in it from time to time but she looks scrunched and I believe she prefers the couch. I have a tom cat and there's no way he could fit into this bed. If this is a standard size I will have to get him a dog bed. Also the picture makes it look like the sides are kind of tall and sturdy. They aren't, and when the cat lays in it the sides flatten out. I think overall I was disappointed in it but as long as the cat likes it, that's all that really matters. I'm not the one sleeping in it. The cover is soft and it's nice that it's washable.

I have a small, older cat who is always cold. I had been running an electric heater for her, but looked into buying a heated bed. This bed was economical and very similar to her old bed, so I gave it a try.

The bed doesn't really heat up until the cat is laying in it. However, you can place a throw pillow or something in the bed first to heat it up if you need to entice the cat to use it.

The bed does heat up nicely when the cat is in it. My cat loves it. I also appreciate the washable cover. A good purchase.

I love this collar. We have had the police come to our house due to the barking from our hound-mutt, while we are away. We had to do something. We tried the citronella spray collar, the ultrasonic noise box, the invisible electric fence, and other bark collars with limited success, everything. Once we found this collar we were very apprehensive about using a shock collar on our dog, so we tried it out on ourselves first. It's very unpleasant but not injurious. It took two days to condition the dog to not to incessantly bark whiel we are away. The dog has learned that he can bark, but only very quietly and not for more than a few barks. I've only given this collar three stars because it is made so cheaply. It breaks. The prongs twist off or bend and break off. The housing box is cheap plastic and the battery lid has broken on several collars. The prongs holding in the battery also are an issue and bend so that the contacts are not good enough to produce a current. I found a sale on the collars for $15.00 each. I bought five.

My golden retriever was very excited to try out this new toy! The first time we gave it to him it took several minutes to get all the tops off and get the food; however, by the third time it was introduced to him he had mastered it in 1-2 minutes. We now use it as a way to feed him full meals so that he doesn't eat too fast. Love that it is dishwasher safe but wish it kept him entertained a while longer.

This is the first time Lily ever saw this toy. She was able to move the parts and figure it out easily. She continued to play with it until see finished her dinner. It took a little time for her to figure out how to remove the pieces without them falling out but she stayed with it so it wasn't frustrating just stimulating. She finished her meal in 20 minutes and then grabbed a chew toy and jumped on the couch. I know Lily likes this toy and so do I. The price makes it extremely likable also. I will point out that Lily thought the yellow pieces were chew toys so I had to take them away when she was done with it. It's a fun quiet meal dispenser

This is a review for the Treat Wheel by Kyjen. This is my second product with them and will most likely be my last as the other one had some design flaws as well. Overall, the concepts seem to be good, but there's always one glaring flaw and cheap materials/construction. This treat wheel is a good idea: pull out the "pegs" and find the treat then use your nose to push the wheel around until you find a secondary treat in another chamber. However, the execution is anything but good. First, the pegs are in too deep and with little (except a dangerously small hole to snag a nail) to grip except super slippery plastic. I tried myself to push and pull the item out of place, and it wouldn't budge (not surprising since 3/4 of it is "buried") and my dogs just grew frustrated and quit. I thought of using it without the pegs and just as a spinner but all the chambers are connected, and the top portion is so badly attached to the bottom that it wobbles about instead of spinning smoothly around. Plus, the chambers are so slick (all the toy being made of that same super slippery plastic) that the treat just slides around. And forget durability. I've seen Dollar Store toys constructed better. A medium to large dog could break this thing in one sitting.

I have a 95lb pitbull/ mastiff mix that often loves his rope bone and his squeaker toy and thought it would be great to challenge him with some thinking toys. I was a bit weary of this toy because my dog might chew up the plastic treat covers but found they are rather tough and that food incentive was greater than the chew incentive. Overall it took about 10 minutes with the advice of the instructions and my pup was on his way to collecting treats from his new puzzle. It takes him a few seconds now to pull the right cap off and start chowing on his goodies. Another thing I would like to note is clean up is pretty easy. I washed the tray and cups with hot water and soap and let dry next to the counter.

My wife and I bought this gate recently and are very pleased with the look and build quality. Functionally it seems to work fine, it was quick and easy to assemble, and simple enough to use. Unfortunately, the only drawback is that the walk-through opening is only 18" wide doable, but considering a 30-32" average doorway you've lost well over a third of the width for walking through. This seems to be fairly common with these gates (though that dimension is hardly ever mentioned on the box or description) and I'm sure there is some structural engineering reason why it's the case, but it's simply not comfortable to walk through. This is especially true if it has to be raised slightly off the floor as it would have to be where we wanted it, because you have to step over, and a bit sideways. Doable, but not comfortable. With a little extra engineering, it seems that the walk-through section itself could have been expandable, not just the overall width.

After an endless search for an EXTRA WIDE/TALL gate, a friend sent this link. Our lab puppy is growing by leaps and bounds and is already close to 25 lbs at 4 months old! We needed something sturdy and high enough that she would not be able to scale. Also, finding a gate to fit a 46' opening between rooms was a challenge. This gate is perfect in everyway! She has slammed into it numerous times and it hasn't budged. Additionally, there is NO damage to the 4 spots on the wall where the gate is secured. Installation was a breeze and it looks beautiful. One last thing, I know a few reviewers have commented on the 18' gate door opening. My husband, who is a larger man, moves through it without any difficulty. Overall, we are completely satisfied with our purchase.

We bought this gate after our old one broke and I really wanted a walk through gate because it is used between the kitchen and living room so we are going back and forth quite a bit with our twins so we spent a little more and bought this one. The height is nice and tall and the metal is quite sturdy and attractive. It is pretty easy to install and you can choose to use tension mounting or secure it with screws. It also comes with 2 extensions for larger doorways. The opening mechanism isn't hard to use and because of the swing gate we can leave it installed and don't have to take it down anytime we need to get in and out (ie. bringing in groceries). This would also be a very nice gate to use with pets if you want to keep them out of a frequently used area or in our case two fat cats. Great gate and worth the money.

This gate is by far the most attactive and functional gate I have ever owned. It is easy to use and very sturdy. The installation is a little tricky; however, if you follow the directions, it is not that difficult. I would order another one of these gates without hesitation.

My husband and I have two dogs (one still a puppy although she is a Newfie and weights 80 pounds!) and we use these gates to keep them out of certain areas when we are not home.

We bought our first one at Target. When we needed a second gate, Target no longer carried the same color gate, so we ordered from Amazon.

The gates look nice and doesn't detract from our house like the white plastic ones. The gate doors are easy to open and walk through. Our only issue is the bottom of the gate tends to loosen itself this could be due to the fact our gates are in 46" doorways, we use all the extensions, and our doorways are fluted moulding so the surface for the tensions is not flat. That being said, the gates have never slipped out of position, even when the 80 pound puppy has laid against it.

We are very happy with the gates and would recommend the gate.

Thought it would stop my dog from pulling me but it doesn't. I was hopin ghtis would be my easy answer. Unfortunately the only thing that has worked is a full body harness which is a pain to put on.

I was excited when I ordered this collar and it arrived the NEXT DAY so that was great. Unfortunately, though it looks adjustable, it doesn't lock into place and is useless to me since my dog can take it off! My son had put this on our dog and within an hour I noticed that I could put my entire hand between his collar and neck...my son insisted that the collar had been tighter, so we took it off and discovered that it didn't lock. Perhaps I'm missing something, but once it is set at a size there doesn't appear to be any way to keep it there. No instructions were provided so we tried everything that we could think of, (it's not the first collar that I've ever bought), but no luck. I was VERY, VERY disappointed.

Great collar but could have a better way of keeping it tight, find it loosens very easy so always adjusting it.
