My dogs (a 1 year-old lab/pointer mix and a 2 year-old jack russell mix) have a tendency to be fairly destructive when it comes to their toys. My husband was certain that the little "legs" would be gone by the end of the first day. So far, it's been over 2 months, and there is absolutely no damage to "Ollie" the octopus. They love the squeaker inside, and it bounces all over the place, which they also seem to enjoy.

One of the dogs in the dogpark had a Ruffian octopus -all the other dogs loved playing with it. It was very squeaky and so fun to fetch! They are great durable dog toys.

Just be warned-I ordered two: one for my neighbor's dog and one for mine. When you order two, you don't get two of the green squeaky ones you see on the ad. You get one green and one red. The problem with the red is that it has fewer squeakers and so is harder to "squeak." Bottom line, the dogs don't like playing with it as much. But, you don't know you're going to be getting two different kinds of "octopi" - you think you're ordering two of the same thing.

My German Shepherd/hound mix is absolutely obsessed with this toy. The high-pitched squeak sometimes gets on my nerves, but its worth the laugh to see him flinging an octopus around. He's a really strong chewer and this has held up very well I'm really surprised at the quality in a squeak toy. We've had it for over a month, a record that only Kongs and Nylabones beat!

This Snowdrift Cuddler is very soft and looks great! However, it is not a pullover or sweater style (tag on garment states, "Easy-fit pullover style"; not so. There is a velcro closure that runs the entire length of the dogs chest and belly. Although this was very disappointing, I really liked the fleece and style. I plan to remove the velcro and sew it up for the pullover/sweater style that I wanted. If the velcro doesn't bother your dog and you need a soft light weight fleece, this is the one for you.

Reggie's new coat arrived today. It is so very soft and warm. He is not real happy wearing it yet, but I am sure once he realizes how warm it keeps him he will love wearing it. I order a small for Reggie, my 5lb chihuahua, and it is a little big, but with a little altering it will not get in the way when he does his business. The xsmall probably would have been a better size, but I did not it to be too small so I ordered up a size. It is light weight and not bulky like a real coat, but it should provide plenty warmness (if that is a word) ... so I guess it is not a coat and it is more like a fleece jacket. It is exactly what I wanted soft, warm, not stiff or bulky!

I really like the way this crate/cover looks in my living room. It matches my existing furniture and I love that it has 2 doors (my previous dog crate only had 1).

It was really easy to assemble (no tools needed). The only thing I wish was different is the front board that goes over the bottom of the crate (it's removeable so you can get to the bottom tray). I wish there was a better way to attach it to the crate. Unless I read the directions wrong, it just sits there (doesn't attach to anything). Whenever my puppy gets rambunctious, she shakes the crate and the front wooden slat falls off.

I've been leaving it off altogether and it looks fine, but it gives a more polished look with it on. I might try to glue magnets or Velcro or something to it to aid in it staying on better.

Love this crate! Extremely fast shipping as well. We got it 6 days BEFORE estimated arrival date, 2 days after we ordered it. Assembly was really easy, I stand 5 foot nothing and did it myself in less than 10 minutes. Everything came in good shape, no scratches, nothing broken. It looks really nice and is much sturdier than anticipated. We ended up using it as a TV stand and it matches the rest of the furniture perfectly (the color is a tad darker than the picture). The only thing is it's HUGE. This works well for us, but if you have a 55 pound dog and are considering the large, get the medium. Our 75 pound GSD cross has plenty of room in this crate and that's with a super fluffy large dog bed and some toys inside. Overall, awesome experience, awesome product, very pleased!

I ordered 2 of these because I have a new dog who is trained but should be crated at night just so she will sleep when we sleep keeps her honest. I also have an older dog who likes to sleep in a crate without the door. If the new dog was a puppy or if she wanted out this is not a strong crate. It is a lightweight black cage with wood "accents" but that is fine for me and my purposes. If you need a strong crate to hold a dog who does not want to be crated I would not suggest this one -but it is nice and light and look nice with the furniture so is perfect for me.

ps.... the side door option is awesome. Makes placement versatile!

This review is for the LARGE SIZE crate. I have four dogs and have used every type of crate and dog item that exists. I wanted to get this one because it would double as a coffee table. I saw this for sale on Amazon, and also directly at the manufacturer but chose to buy through Brookstone because of their customer service, and because if there were a problem, I could return it at their store. GUESS AGAIN. This was the flimsiest metal crate I've ever bought. The large size, too, which you would expect to be stronger than a smaller one. My dog broke through the side on the first day. I thought that was a fluke, so re-inforced it with cable ties. The second day, he broke through (actually BENT the metal) the front door. This is a dog who has just gone through knee surgery, and has never broken through a crate before. When I called Brookstone, they said they had to get pre-approval from the vendor (?) before they could do a return. Also, I could not return at the store (??) because the item was oversized. A day later, they called me to say that the vendor refused the return, and there was nothing they could do. Now I'm out a lot of money with no recourse. The customer service rep ended the call with a cheery, "Have a great day", as if to pour salt in the wound. I'm done with Brookstone both online and retail. I must have gotten them confused with another major web retailer, who stands behind their products. Brookstone stands behind nothing. Follow up after uploading this review to Brookstone (which still has not been published), I received a call from Brookstone customer service asking for a picture of the item, which I sent. Still no response from them.

Our toy poodle has 17 1/2 years of experience in being a puppy. As a result of her age, she is having more pee-pee accidents lately, while her people are at work. I purchased this 2-pack of cover-ups, size Small. We use Carefree panty shields as an absorbent liner, and this system works wonderfully well. For size small, a regular maxi-pad would be way too long; the panty shield provides perfect coverage of the panties. I'm sure a regular maxi would be more appropriate in larger sizes.

These panties require putting Brandy's tail through the opening, then pulling the sides up from her belly and attaching the two velcro tabs on her back.

Brandy doesn't seem to mind wearing her cover-ups after we get them on, so they must be pretty comfy, but some days she is less than cooperative in letting me put her tail into the opening. But since she has hip displasia & some arthritis, this is often easier than if we had to put her hind legs into openings. I also have to be careful and check the fit carefully when I get the cover-ups on, as it is easy (with all her fur) to bind her leg joint. But if I pay attention, and check her when I get them fastened, it is easy & quick to make any needed adjustments.

Size info: Brandy weighs about 6 3/4 pounds, and has a small waist. I ordered Small based on previous reviews (especially the reviews on the XS ordering page), and they fit perfectly. Ordering one size up worked for us. The available velcro area is fairly wide, so any given size will have lots of lee-way in fit.

These panties are very effective for pee-pee accidents, but definitely, the cover-up product is only for little girl dogs; boy dogs should use a wrap. I can't speak to the product's effectiveness for poop accidents, as that has not been tested at our house, thankfully. They would also work extremely well for when a little girl is in heat.

I generally hand wash the soiled cover-ups in the bathroom sink. But they take several hours to air-dry. I did put one pair in the washing machine & dryer (in a mesh lingerie bag), with success, though they picked up some lint in that process, but it wasn't bad. I will certainly machine wash again in the future. Be advised that the purple color does run the first few times it is washed, so sort accordingly.

We also have Petego Hot Pants for the same purpose Petego Hot Pants Dog Panties, Small, 10 Inches. The Petego Hot Pants are definitely cuter, though both products work well. Petego Hot Pants require putting her hind legs into openings to get them on.

I was disappointed with these for two reasons. The old diapers were made of denim, lined with cotton. They were sturdy, held their shape for inserting pads, and covered the "crotch" area well. The new ones are made of polyester, are flimsy and don't cover as well.

Secondly, these are smaller than the original denim diapers. I bought the same size and they didn't fit nearly as well.

I suppose the new fabrics are cheaper to use, but the old denim was of much better quality.

I have 4 dogs, 2 with bladder control issues. One dog has 3 of the denim (old style) washable diapers, they are great and work wonders just they are 1 for about 17 bucks. I can almost agree with that price after buying these for my other dog.

The main points where the product is no longer as great would be with absorbancy. I now have to use a pad no matter what in the covers, they wash and dry much faster but I was not out to do more laundry. The colours are great and vibrant and now after about 6 washes the colour is still vibrant. Just these weren't exactly bought for fashion and style. They do fit the same as the old ones, so sizing was not greatly affected. Of course they still run small though. My sheltie wears a medium and my pom wears a small. If I went by the pack sizes both dog would be a size down respectively.

If you don't mind having to use a pad all the time and you are not as forgetful as some these are great. If you forget at points search out the denim ones, they may be cost more per diaper but so much better in over all absorbancy and just worth it.

One thing, just make sure to measure your dog and go up if her midsection is right on or close to the larger end of the cover. I honestly would not go by the breed sizing guide at all if another one of my dogs needed diapers. Hopefully none of the girls will though. Luckily though if it happens I now know my options in full, denim for bad incontinence and these for light leaks.

I have only used these for incontinence and not for heat issues. My review is strictly about use for incontinence.

I purchased these diapers for incontinence for my older dog. Size small fits a 5 lb maltese. They are adjustable which is really nice. If using for urination problems, you must use a disposable pad (I use Tena incontinence pads and cut them in half)or for lighter accidents you can use a feminine napkin cut in half. These diapers wash nicely and the velcro is strong and will last for a long time. I have six of these diapers and love them and highly recommend them. They are soft for her skin and wrap around her nicely so they don't slip off like the disposable diapers.

We have 4 Havanese, 3 of which are female. We plan on breeding, but not for sale we've found the breed to be amazing, durable dogs that are nothing short of amazing with autistic children (so it's more of a cause for us). Anyway, luck would not have it that our 3 girls would 'sync up' on their heats so we're looking at 9 weeks every 6 months we're going to have to seperate our pups (and we don't plan on breeding any before 2 years of age, so there's all those heats we would have to seperate before they're old enough to breed). I hate keeping the kiddies apart, they miss each other so much, and it's hard to decide how to 'divide' them up so that no one is lonely. I tried these washable cover-ups, in conjunction witht he Simple Solution male wrap.... YAY! my puppies are sooo happy. They don't notice their new apparel at all, and we've had no pregnancies after 2 heats. Now, I wouldn't suggest using these wraps by themselves the disposable pads (I use feminine pads with wings because they stay put and seem to hold more)are a must, but I you have to check and change every couple of hours. I don't condone leaving a poor little dog in a wet knappy all day! They work for what they are intended, and they work for other forms of 'protection' as well.

Preston says it: The Best Thing Ever.

The engineering on this thing is nothing short of a miracle; Preston can get very distracted by dogs and squirrels, and he's very powerful, sometimes I can barely control him with both arms and all my weight. So I was scared that I could never risk biking with him or find myself in a faceplant with my bike in a heap. That's why I invested in this, the most expensive bike leash made.

Worth every penny and then some. This leash controls his pulling BETTER than I ever could! I could barely tell that he WAS pulling, especially when we were going at a good pace. He'd try to veer and be pulled right back.

The exercise for him is fantastic the way it's made he can actually pull me, and I let him. And if I speeded up he was right there. (No worries, I was careful we only went around the block a couple of times. He's not used to it and his FEET aren't used to it. Although when we came home he was sort of in a groove and did a couple of laps around the yard at the same pace we'd been going...)

It's fantastic. Every single claim is absolutely true, even the part about easy installation bing bam boom.

Don't be afraid to make the investment, it's a marvel and your dogs will ADORE you.

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 15-

Just wanted to say that my dog and I are happier than ever with this. We spend much more time together, he's in fantastic shape, and it's easily one of the best products/things/objects I have ever owned, because it works beautifully at keeping us both safe and because it does, my dog and I are happier, we have more time together, it just elevates our lives, truly. If you really love your dog (and enjoy bicycling! It's my primary transportation...) don't hesitate. You will not regret it.

BUT I DO WANT TO CAUTION YOU!

Please, be VERY responsible and careful about your dog's health and endurance! If they are anything like my dog, they will want to run themselves into the ground! Don't let them! Go slowly, bring water, pay close attention to your dog's signs to make sure she doesn't overdo and work your way up. Even if they have good endurance already, this is tough on their pads. The maker told me that asphalt is less of a problem than cement, too.

I purchased this b/c I have a large GSD that is a heavy puller. This seemed to be the best solution for biking with him safely. I recently upgraded to a new bike A Trek hybrid with disc Breaks and a wider frame. This system does not fit. The frame where it is to attach is to wide for the bolts the bolts to fite properly. Additionally, i rubs against the breaks and the chain. (I attempted to attach at both left and right side). I don't believe this can be used at all for a right side mount, which is the side I prefer my dog to be on.

The beauty of this device is that it harnesses to the middle of the wheel not directly (or indirectly) to the bike seat. So, when your dog pulls, it's at a low center of gravity. You'll hardly notice the tug. (If it was connected to the seat, you'd be rolling over with the bike at the first lunge!)

Wonder why the device is such a strange shape? I'm not sure of the engineering reason for it, but from a practical point of view it's fantastic. It wraps around your peddling foot and leashes to the dog's collar in a forward position. In a run, the dog is right there with you, astride the front wheel. You can casually look down on him/her and see how he's doing. And seeing how he's doing is important. You'll want to guage his speed and not over-exert him.

I've started off on just a one mile course. It's just the road where we live, paved, with a slight up and down grade. I've found that I don't have to peddle practically at all. My lab-mix just pulls the bike forward while maintaining a gallop (I think he was a race horse in his last life :) During the warmer weather, though, that pavement may get too hot for him, so I'll probably run him early morning. My concern running him on the pavement is that it may be a bit too much for his pads. We've contemplated getting him doggie running shoes, but I think that's probably going overboard.

Last note: the price. It's considerably more expensive that competitive prices, but you get what you pay for. This simple and elegant design is a true work of engineering craftsmanship at it's best. You'll be very pleased that you made the investment.

My Dog LOVES this leash, she used to be a little skittish of bikes but that changed after the first couple min. By the second trip out she had mastered not only accelerating but also braking, if the dog swings back behind the bike and crosses to the other side the pole acts as a brake.

My dog was driving me crazy barking at people he even knew everytime they came home at my house, other people's houses etc.

I tried yelling at him, spanking him and nothing worked.

When I put this collar on him he barked once and was sprayed by it and he did not bark twice.

For a week I had it on him and he would bark once and then stop.

He eventually stopped barking and would just growl at them lightly.

I took it off him for 2 days and he figured out he could bark more than once but it was not nearly as bad!

It is back on him again and working very well and I will continue to wean him off of it.

The citronella smell is not enough to really smell it away from the dog.

It is very easy to use and extemely helpful!

If you have cat urine smell in your carpet, you need to rid it of the proteins of the urine or you will NEVER get rid of that smell. Every rainly day, you'll still smell that urine even if you rent or purchase a very expensive carpet cleaner. In fact, we did some research and found that a steamer can make things worse by setting the smell in. We used a spot bot for daily cleaning but the room the cats were messing in started to smell bad. We purchased this light to shine on the carpet, find the urine spots and then used a power/pump sprayer with an ENZYME based pet cleaner to apply. We just sprayed on and let it dry for a week or however long it takes. The light allowed us to see the stains/spots very, very well. I don't understand the one post that stated they could hardly see the stain because we saw them very clearly. Our carpet had some thread in it that gave us a sprinkling of light (consistent) throughout but it was VERY easy to see spots that you couldn't see at all in regular light. So far so good. After we used the light and enzyme, we rented a carpet cleaner, added ONLY water and a little vinegar (about a cup) and thoroughly rinced the carpet. It cost only $22 to rent (no soap or extras needed). Last, we followed our research tips and dowsed the area with sented baking soda It really worked. We finally got the smell out. My sheltie had 3 accidents within a 2 week period this last spring... we don't know why, but she hasn't done it since, so we think she might not have been feeling well. In any case, I had some carpet to clean with an enzymatic cleaner, and while I knew the general area, I couldn't remember exactly where Zoey had gone pee.

You have to use this detector in a pitch dark room.... I think most UV lights have this limitation, even for the professionals. At our old house, we had a pro carpet cleaner come in and treat pet stains, and they could only do this at night with their UV detector, so the cleaners were over late at night to detect and treat.

When I used the Simple Solution Spotter, the urine showed up as very pale, dull yellow spots on my dark thick brown carpet. Zoey has a habit of starting to walk away before she's fully finished peeing, so there were little trailing drips I had to track down this was the hardest part of treating the stains. Other than having to be on my hands and knees, staring hard at the carpet, it was easy enough to start at one area, and work my way backwards until I'd found all 3 spots she'd made.

I'm glad I bought the Simple Solution UV Urine Detector even though I've only had occasion to use it once, and amazon had a lower price than my local pet supply store.

Not that this has to do with the detector itself, but I found it helpful to use a manual pressure sprayer while treating the stains. I found mine in the garden supply area of a hardware store. Mine's larger than regular trigger spray bottles, and you can tilt it forward and downward to spray the carpet something that's hard to do with a trigger spray bottle, as liquid would move away from the straw part of the trigger bottle, and nothing would come out. This wasn't a problem with the manual pressure sprayer... I'd fill it, pump it to build pressure, and I'd have plenty of stain treater to do the entire area. This way, I didn't have to stop to refill the bottle, coming back to the carpet and trying to find where I left off. Hope this tip helps!

This product has ruined my life and will likely cost me thousands of dollars in obsessive-compulsive therapy and cleaning products.

I was a little apprehensive after reading all the 1 star reviews and seriously considered just building a black light of my own

(my dad was an electrician, so he taught me how to do a few small things).

Most of the 1 star reviews complain about:

* The unit feeling flimsy and possibly breaking after a few uses.

It's a plastic tool, not a weapon. Unless you plan on going into battle with it, I'm sure you'll be just fine. Keep it out of your mouth.

* Not being able to detect stains easily, awkward to handle?

Yes, you might need to get on the floor and tilt it to the side. A problem if you get easily lost in your own living room, dealing with your stage 4 carpal tunnel.

* The inconvenience of needing 8 AA batteries..

More batteries make the light brighter and they're cheap at the dollar store.

Why don't you pick a few up for your vibrator while you're at it? You sound very grumpy, lonely...

Bottom line, this product did exactly what I needed it to and it only set me back about $20.

I received this product today, and it worked great. First, the room must be dark. If you have light carpet, it is tricky at first to see anything. It worked best for me to angle the light slightly instead of aiming it straight towards the floor. On dark carpet, urine and other things were very easy to spot. The light takes 8 AA batteries (not included)or an adaptor plug, but it was brighter with the batteries.
