Dog Palace Large Dog House Reviews

Dog Palace Large Dog House

I'll start with the negatives, which are very few. I wish that this house was a bit wider. My dog, a leggy 90 lb purebred Lab, appears quite comfy in this house the way it is so this isn't her complaint. Her indoor hangout was a wire crate that is twice the width so I wanted her to be able to sprawl out like she did in there. She may be able to in this house but I have no clue. I can't see her when she's in there. I also wish there were vents on the side but again, in the hot, rainy, muggy South Florida weather, my dog has no complaints. She has emerged completely dry. And that's where the complaints stop.

My dog was an indoor dog but due to a family member with a weakened immune system, she had to move outdoors. I purchased another regular style dog house that came with a shingled roof, overhang for when it rains and she was fine with it but I wasn't. I was preparing to go into the expense of pulling permits to put in an outbuilding for her until I found this dog house. It is completely sealed from the elements and completely dry even after the typical torrential downpours Miami has during the summer. Flooding in the yard also isn't an issue since the water would have to be several inches high before it becomes a concern. The solar fan works like a charm. I also purchased the heater pad and cover for the cooler weeks ahead. The accessories are well made and implemented.

I've had my dog since she was old enough to be separated from her mother. She's been my best friend and companion through many ups and downs and has even saved my hide a few times. I would spend my last dime to make sure she is comfortable, safe, and protected. I love this dog house so much that when she is finally able to be an indoor dog again it will come inside with her and the crate will be put away. I initially felt that "for a dog house" it was quite expensive and what if it didn't work. Not a concern. This is worth every penny!

This shampoo got my three dogs clean and didn't leave a really strong perfume smell. It appears to be gentle on their skin. I have two Bichons' with skin like humans and a Heinz57. No adverse effects or itching on any of them.

I started using this over 10 years ago when my older Border Collie started exhibiting dry skin and itching incessantly. It did what no other shampoo could: eliminated the dry skin and itching! As a bonus, she is SOOOOOO FLUFFY AND SOFT after drying! For an added bit of fluffiness and softness, I sometimes use Bio-Groom's Oatmeal Creme Rinse after this shampoo.

THIS IS THE ONLY SHAMPOO I WILL USE ON MY BORDER COLLES! WHY MESS WITH PERFECTION?

The dog shampoo application leaves our dog with soft, clean, hair and not conditioner is needed after shampooing. A great product at a great price.

Honest reviews on Bio-Groom Natural Oatmeal Anti-Itch Shampoo (32 fl oz)

I bought this on the recommendation of a pet store. My puppy has some itching and developed two small hot spots. Wanted a gentle shampoo to help with his itching until the oral medication helps him, and something to use long/ term. The first time I washed him with it, I thought I hadn't rinsed it well enough or something.

His fur seemed limo after a day and he still has a stinky dog smell that you can smell 5 feet away (other shampoos left him smelling good)

The next time, I left it on for five minutes , and rinsed it meticulously. That was yesterday morning and he looks unkept, oily and is very smelly. Going to try something else!

good lather. mild fragrance. fragrance doesn't last nor is it 'fresh' smelling -in my opinion. seems to calm skin only momentarily, even after leaving lathered areas soaped up a few minutes to take effect and rinsing in cool water. have stepped up to washing twice a week (per vet dr instructions and while skin flare ups last he diagnosed her with mild grass or topical/seasonal skin allergy as a result of pollen that Benadryl doesn't impact). She's not blister-red anymore but pink so it seems the increased washings, shampoo, and rinsing the allergens off her skin are helping. She is always on a high quality dog food with no additives and no gluten, grains, etc. in her chow and her condition comes/goes with the heat/spring-summer.

Adopted a dog and one of the issues I've come across with him is anxiety. He would pant constantly, never really settle down, etc. After a vet visit confirmed he was healthy and nothing was wrong with him I spoke with the vet about putting him on some type of medication. I didn't want to do that unless it was necessary so thought I'd give these a shot, worst case scenario they wouldn't work and I'd be buying my dog happy pills. Luckily for me they work like a charm and I have slowly been easing him off of them.

Best Deals for Happy Traveler - 30 - Capsule ( Multi-Pack)

Works for separation anxiety on a mix-breed traumatized rescue dog. I tried it on my pure bred Airedale's for the 4th of July and well, it had absolutely no effect what so ever. But that's Airedales. When I give it to a severely traumatized mix breed rescue dog who has found a forever home with us but panics when left, it works great!

Honest reviews on Happy Traveler - 30 - Capsule ( Multi-Pack)

Works wonders when needed. Always on hand. This works great for my dog when he is anxious or when he has to go to the vet. Is especially great with thunder and lighting, Would not want to be out of it.

I use this along with a Thundershirt and it seems to do the trick. I tried these two products separately and, for my dog, I find his anxiety level to be better managed using both products during thunderstorms and fireworks.

Two of the tack welds were broken on the item when I purchased it, so I put rivets in to repair it. I rate this product highly because of its design was exactly what I wanted.

Click Here For Most Helpful Customer Reviews >>

I purchased this kennel for my 80lb pit bull Rocko who easily broke all of the Petsmart folding kennels. This product shipped fast, and judging by the weight of the boxes i thought this kennel would be perfect. Not so. the welds are more of a tack job, and easily broken, and since there is a pre manufactured screw on the door, the machined holes are thrown out of alignment for all the other screws, and you need a longer screw to make up for the difference. . Rocko bent and snapped the welds on the door, which rendered the kennel useless. After a trip to home depot, some plexiglass, and thicker metal rods, the hole in the door was fixed. However, rocko has snapped another 3 welds on the side of the cage, and once again the kennel is useless. Save yourself the trouble, and if you have a dog that doesnt like being kennels build your own kennel, and dont waste your money on this. if you have purchased this kennel, i suggest taking it to a machine shop and paying someone to do the welds correctly, since it couldnt be done that way the first time.

The welding points that hold this crates sides and doors on are weak, and two crates I've gotten have broken welds. One crate is hanging in. Shipping boxes aren't strong enough to stop freight carrier damage. All three crates have bent sides upon receipt and opening. The crate would be fabulous if the welding job was done better.

The side bars are strong, but there were some that were not welded. That is poor quality control.

The bars on the bottom should be stronger my dog bent them all out of shape as they are very weak.

The jacket was extremely warm and I would have loved to use it for my new puppy but it was entirely too small...I was unable to get his little paws through the holes and he only weighed 5 pounds and was 8 inches long at the time...I ordered the XS which is what he wore in other coats/sweaters at the time but this would not fit him. I was very disappointed.

I bought this in black and brown for my miniature pinscher. No coat or sweatshirt is easy to get on or off a dog but these aren't too bad. Be sure to measure your pet correctly which is a big help. These hoodies have kept my min pin warm in IL all winter. Now if his sibling would just stop using the hoodie as a dust mop for his poor smaller brother things would be great!!

Don't waste your hard earned dough, this is like a chapstick, ever rubbed a chapstick on your dog's nose?? good luck w that, even if u rub it on your finger first and then try to apply, it's too sparce to work with, also, it contains Rosemary for inflammation, of course, this is quite evident to a dog, as it smells medicinal, for my money, I will stick with Snout Soother, I thought I would try this , sorry I did,

Just like the expensive ones purchased at dog shows. Medium weight but strong and attractive. Lovely gold color. Good functional show collar for purposes in which you really want your canine pal to "shine!" Maybe not the ideal walking collar as it is a choke collar unless you have a very well trained dog that won't pull against it.

Preston says it: The Best Thing Ever.

The engineering on this thing is nothing short of a miracle; Preston can get very distracted by dogs and squirrels, and he's very powerful, sometimes I can barely control him with both arms and all my weight. So I was scared that I could never risk biking with him or find myself in a faceplant with my bike in a heap. That's why I invested in this, the most expensive bike leash made.

Worth every penny and then some. This leash controls his pulling BETTER than I ever could! I could barely tell that he WAS pulling, especially when we were going at a good pace. He'd try to veer and be pulled right back.

The exercise for him is fantastic the way it's made he can actually pull me, and I let him. And if I speeded up he was right there. (No worries, I was careful we only went around the block a couple of times. He's not used to it and his FEET aren't used to it. Although when we came home he was sort of in a groove and did a couple of laps around the yard at the same pace we'd been going...)

It's fantastic. Every single claim is absolutely true, even the part about easy installation bing bam boom.

Don't be afraid to make the investment, it's a marvel and your dogs will ADORE you.

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 15-

Just wanted to say that my dog and I are happier than ever with this. We spend much more time together, he's in fantastic shape, and it's easily one of the best products/things/objects I have ever owned, because it works beautifully at keeping us both safe and because it does, my dog and I are happier, we have more time together, it just elevates our lives, truly. If you really love your dog (and enjoy bicycling! It's my primary transportation...) don't hesitate. You will not regret it.

BUT I DO WANT TO CAUTION YOU!

Please, be VERY responsible and careful about your dog's health and endurance! If they are anything like my dog, they will want to run themselves into the ground! Don't let them! Go slowly, bring water, pay close attention to your dog's signs to make sure she doesn't overdo and work your way up. Even if they have good endurance already, this is tough on their pads. The maker told me that asphalt is less of a problem than cement, too.

I purchased this b/c I have a large GSD that is a heavy puller. This seemed to be the best solution for biking with him safely. I recently upgraded to a new bike A Trek hybrid with disc Breaks and a wider frame. This system does not fit. The frame where it is to attach is to wide for the bolts the bolts to fite properly. Additionally, i rubs against the breaks and the chain. (I attempted to attach at both left and right side). I don't believe this can be used at all for a right side mount, which is the side I prefer my dog to be on.

Best Deals for Bike Tow Leash Dog Bicycle Attachment - Orange

I purchased the bike tow leash so I could exercise myself and my dogs. I have tried other bike type leashes and all had some type of short coming. The bike tow leash is perfect and very well thought out for walking dogs. I use to use my ATV to road my dogs to get them in shape for hunting season. Now that I have the bike tow leash I am able to get myself and my dogs in shape. The bike tow leash allows me to use my mountain bike on sidewalks or trails I would recommend this to anyone wanting to spend time with their dogs while getting in shape.

Honest reviews on Bike Tow Leash Dog Bicycle Attachment - Orange

The beauty of this device is that it harnesses to the middle of the wheel not directly (or indirectly) to the bike seat. So, when your dog pulls, it's at a low center of gravity. You'll hardly notice the tug. (If it was connected to the seat, you'd be rolling over with the bike at the first lunge!)

Wonder why the device is such a strange shape? I'm not sure of the engineering reason for it, but from a practical point of view it's fantastic. It wraps around your peddling foot and leashes to the dog's collar in a forward position. In a run, the dog is right there with you, astride the front wheel. You can casually look down on him/her and see how he's doing. And seeing how he's doing is important. You'll want to guage his speed and not over-exert him.

I've started off on just a one mile course. It's just the road where we live, paved, with a slight up and down grade. I've found that I don't have to peddle practically at all. My lab-mix just pulls the bike forward while maintaining a gallop (I think he was a race horse in his last life :) During the warmer weather, though, that pavement may get too hot for him, so I'll probably run him early morning. My concern running him on the pavement is that it may be a bit too much for his pads. We've contemplated getting him doggie running shoes, but I think that's probably going overboard.

Last note: the price. It's considerably more expensive that competitive prices, but you get what you pay for. This simple and elegant design is a true work of engineering craftsmanship at it's best. You'll be very pleased that you made the investment.

My Dog LOVES this leash, she used to be a little skittish of bikes but that changed after the first couple min. By the second trip out she had mastered not only accelerating but also braking, if the dog swings back behind the bike and crosses to the other side the pole acts as a brake.

This is a must have leash for all high energy dogs. The only good puppy is a tired puppy after all!!!

I have been using another brand of claw caps for several years and recently switched to these because they're a bit less expensive. I have had no bad experience with the quality of the caps, they seem identical to the original brand (SoftPaws).

I would like to address a few comments from other reviews.

In general if your cat will allow you to trim its claws, you won't have difficulty in applying these. The first application may need to be done over a few days because they may get tired of you messing with their claws before all ten are applied.

If you go into an enclosed room (bathroom) to apply them it is much easier because the cat knows there is no escape, and therefore will fight you less. My extremely large cat is simply uncomfortable being held on my lap, so I make him lay on the bathroom counter to get his claws done. The smaller cat I just sit on my lap and trim/apply from there. Neither loves to have their claws done, but both tolerate it.

It makes a HUGE difference if you start applying them when your cat is young. My old cat never quit trying to chew them off, his claws were practically nubs because he just never got completely comfortable with them. So he tended to need new caps applied much more frequently than my younger cats who have worn them since they were kittens. Also, a cat who tends to scratch a lot will lose them more frequently than one who does so less often.

After you insert the claw into the cap with the glue, run your finger around the base of the cap to remove excess glue, which will prevent it sticking to their fur and making an uncomfortable lump of glue. It is also advisable to hold and pet your kitty for five minutes after the caps are applied to keep them from pulling the caps off before the glue dries.

if your caps are coming off sooner than you think is reasonable, try a smaller size. it doesn't really matter how far up the claw the cap extends, and you don't want any air to be between the cap and the claw, as that will reduce surface area for the glue to stick and they'll be more likely to come off.

If your cat does not eventually get the claws off themselves with normal clawing activity, you may need to cut them off. Definitely do this before the end of the cap touches their toe-pad. Just trim the end off as though you were trimming a raw claw, and then, using a claw trimmer or sharp scissors, cut the top edge of the cap along the top of their claw and remove the remaining cap. This will prevent you trimming the claw too closely.

If your cats claws are sharp after the claw comes off, it is a result of normal shedding of claw material. If they still look trimmed, then the claw came off or was chewed off prior to normal shedding and you may want to try using a smaller size, using more glue, or holding them longer once new caps are applied.

Personally I like the colored caps because it's easier to see that caps have been lost and need to be replaced.

In my experience after the first set of caps have been applied, a box of 40 will last you 8-12 weeks, depending on the cat.

I normally only apply caps to the front paws, I just trim the back claws. I have applied caps to the inside claws on the back when one of my cats had an irritation and was scratching herself raw. This prevented her breaking the skin on an already irritated spot.

I was a bit skeptical at first, but the tips were super easy to apply, and the cats just couldn't care less. They tried to lick them off at the very beginning but quickly gave up. Now the little devils can't scratch anymore! BWAHAHAHAAAAA!

Best Deals for Soft Claws for Cats - CLS (Cleat Lock System), Size Medium, Color

So I have had my cat for about 8 years. She trashed my older couch and chairs but as they were purchased used, it really didn't matter to me. However when I decided that I wanted new furniture I considered getting my cat declawed because I knew eventually she would ruin my the new furniture too. I actually made an appointment to have my kitty cat's fingers cut off but had a change of heart. I figured why not try a less extreme measure first and purchased the soft paws on a recommendation of a friend.

First of let me tell you, to be able to use soft paws you need to know how to properly cut a cat's nails. It isn't hard, really. I figured out how to do it. Cosmo didn't like getting her nails cut when I first started to do it. But eventually she became used to me doing it. (Treats associated with nail cuts seemed to do the trick.) It took a while for Cosmo to allow me to cut all her nails at one time, but she now she doesn't mind it at all. I have been cutting her nails frequently for about 7 years.

My cat doesn't mind me putting on the soft paws. It isn't quite as easy as cutting her nails (it requires a little more coordination on my part and therefore a little more time and my cat's attention span is a little shorter than I would like but without too much bribing she gets them all done at one time.) Aside from putting them on, Cosmo doesn't seem to mind having them on. Actually she seems to be as comfortable with them as she was without them. The only thing I have noticed is that when she walks on hard wood floor she make a tapping sound. She doesn't mind, but I think it sounds like high heals and laugh at her a little bit.

They do fall off, but overall I would say a pack lasts a couple of months. I would say that about every 3-4 weeks, Cosmos looses about half of her nails. But rest assured that if you put them on correctly they will not fall off as soon as you put them on. And you won't need too keep reapplying them everyday.

Cosmo is currently wearing Soft Paws in Pink, size Medium. Her next soft paws are black. Sometimes she just likes a little change.

Overall, declawing my cat was too inhumane and I couldn't do it. I wanted to keep my new furniture without snags. I tried living with the furniture covered with blanket and sticky tape but really that isn't a way to live. My cat is currently wearing soft paws and not destroying my furniture and seems as happy as she was before she staring wearing them. And I know I am much more happy too!

Honest reviews on Soft Claws for Cats - CLS (Cleat Lock System), Size Medium, Color

The Soft Paws / Soft Claws for Cats get rave reviews all over the Internet. We have a Bengal kitten/cat, roughly 11 months old, which has his front claws removed but still has his rear claws. He likes to jump up onto your shoulders and sometimes overshoots and therefore tries to dig in with his rear nails. I'm sure you can imagine how painful this is for me and my family members. Our kitty also sometimes likes to kick his rear feet, like a bunny rabbit, while he is playing. Those rear nails are sharp as razor blades and slice right through human skin like butter.

We called our local vet to see if declawing the rear paws was advisable. Keep in mind, this is an indoor-only cat who is never allowed outdoors. Also, my wife provides daycare service in our home, so we can't risk having having the children in her care scratched all up by our playful kitten. The vet told us that removing the rear claws may cause the cat to become a bitter; which is especially common with Bengals. The vet then recommended the Soft Claws product to us, so we eagerly ordered up a couple of packs from Amazon.

We are on the second week of using this product. First of all I have to say that this product is a wonderful idea but isn't quite as perfect as people have claimed. We purchased the clear covers, which I highly recommend as it would probably be very hard to visualize how much glue you were squeezing into a colored nail cover. Our kitten squirmed a bit but soon settled down and allowed us to install all of the covers on his rear nails. The problem is, several of the nail covers we received in our kits were slightly different in size and a few of them didn't even have the slits cut in them, so we had to throw several of the covers away. Within the first 24 hours our kitten had chewed/pulled off 5 of the 8 nail covers. We installed new covers right away but 3 more were missing within the next 24 hours. Two weeks later we have yet to keep all 8 of the nail covers on our kitten. The size of the covers are correct, and we have tried using more glue to get them to adhere better. They just don't seem to be able to withstand the chewing and tugging that our cat subjects them to. We have already gone through an entire kit and are well on our way through the second. We had to throw away 5 of the nail covers in the second kit as well, as they were defective and not usable.

Overall I cannot blame the manufacturer for the fact that our cat continues to chew off the covers; although a better adhesive might help. However, there is no excuse for the many defective covers that were included in the two kits we received. I certainly think this product is a GREAT idea; a terrific and humane alternative to declawing a kitten or cat. But with the poor quality control we have experienced with the kits we received, it is very hard for us to recommend these to others. I am glad that many other people have had pleasing results with this product. We are going to order two more kits soon, and hopefully we will receive better results this time around.

On my ten pound cat, the mediums were way, WAY too big. She pulled them off, gnawed at them and generally hated life. I kept finding chunks of fingernails glued to the inside of the Soft Claws I'd find strewn all over the floors each morning. I bought a small set, even though she's clearly out of that range and I find them to work much better. She can't get them off and they've lasted a week and a half thus far, versus the one day I got out of the mediums.

Remember the cat's claws retract, so the Soft Claws should not cover the entire nail when you have the nail fully extended. If you do, when the nails retract, the Soft Claw will cover the cat's soft cuticle and irritate it. I found this out the hard way when MeowMeow would go crazy when I tried to inspect the nails she'd gotten the Soft Claw off ofthe nail itself was ripped in almost 2, was ragged down to the quick and the cuticle was inflamed. With the smalls, since they only go about 2/3 of the way up her nail when extended, they seem to be perfect when she retracts them. Much happier kitty, much less guilt from me.
