My 1 year old mini labradoodle goes CRAZY for plushed toys.. and he will IMMEDIATELY dive into any cute looking toy and try to ruin it. I don't exactly know how many plushed toys he's gone through already, buts its A LOT -so I went on the quest to try and find a cute, tough toy. I've bought him Nyla Bones, Orca petstages, etc.. but the thing is with those toys, he can only chew on them and now really fling it around like a stuffed animal.. SO, I've also bought him toys with no-stuffing, but he still seemed to ruin the heck out of it.. to the point where you can't even recognize the toy anymore.
Moving on... I started asking around for what would be the perfect toy for him. A lady recommended this toy that was made out of fire hose material -great.. but it wasn't cute.. and he seemed to have ruined it within a month. Then, another lady recommended a toy that was made with 100% boiled wool. I thought it was going to be tough as well, but boy was I wrong... the minute that I gave him this toy, the ear was gone already. SIGH.
I really lost all hope on finding a toy that I would think he can actually have forever. But then.... this Go Dog Baby Dragon came into our lives. Not only was it cute, but super appealing because of the "Chew Guard Technology". DEEP DOWN INSIDE, I was thinking that he would ruin it once more... but I had hope.. so, I gave it to him..... and........................... nothing. :) NOTHING came out. Nothing was chewed off. I can't rave how much I love this! and I can't wait to buy more toys from this company! Hoooray!

I had read reviews for these products and thought that maybe i could try them. Though I had my doubts when I saw how many appenages (arms, legs, tail, wings) that the doll has. Before I gave this toy to my dog, I noticed on the tag that it was to have a pull weight of 40kg. My dog is a border collie mix that weighs about 40 pounds, medium sized dog, but very energetic, and can be quite clever.
So here is what happened when I got it:
I gave the doll to my dog (Tess). After I gave her this toy, she started to go off with it, but then paused and looked at me for permission..."yes, I bought it for you, let's see how long it lasts". And off she went. By minute eleven, I heard seams ripping. by minute 18, she had the squeaky part out and left the dragon alone with only a hole in the tail where she performed her mini-surgery. The squeaker system in this toy involved foam and a plastic bag, which I then had to clean up foam peices.....I was not impressed with this. Tess' favorite part of her toys is the squeakers that she removes then carries around the house whining about, so I'm pretty sure she was disappointed with this, though I was somewhat glad to not have the whining part and her wanting me to throw a slobbery peice of squeaky plastic. The rest of the dragon is still together and she occassionally plays with it.
I like this doll as it is very cute and so far she hasn't totally destroyed it, but I would not recommend it as impenetrable to someone with a dog that approaches her toys by dissecting them the way mine does. She does not pull on them in particular, but lays down with them and chews on the same spot and works on it until she can rip the seems apart and "destuff" the toy. If your dog does this, don't expect it to hold up long. The rest of the dragon is still together so far and quite cute, but it has only been about a week, so we'll see if she goes back for the head or feet later....
Honest reviews on goDog Dragon Dog Toy with Chew Guard
Like most, I was very hopeful that this "Chew Proof" toy would withstand our 6 month old golden retriever. He has the ability to destroy toys in record time. He had this toy pulled apart in less than 30 minutes. Don't describe a toy as "Chew Proof" if it's not supposed to be chewed. I hate that we wasted so much money on this toy. I have picked up toys that cost $1 that lasted longer than this one! I guess we will continue the search for a better, tougher toy.

We recently purchased this as a Christmas present for our 1 year old English Bulldog on the recommendation of a coworker who said it was indestructible. After reading the reviews it showed promise so we have it a shot. I gave it to my little guy last night as an early present since he was being a good boy. Withing 30 minutes he had chewed off 3/4 of the tail which we had to grab quickly before he swallowed it. He also had removed both ears and the little thing on the head. He had also split the entire head in half. This may be okay for smaller dogs but it does not stand up to anything large.
