I purchased this pet mat for an odd reason. While trying to get my chicken ark winterized in preparation for cold weather, I discovered there was really not room in the upstairs of the ark where the chickens sleep, for even a light bulb to keep them warm. I began trying to come up with another way. No room for a heater, plus the danger of a fire in such a small enclosed space.

I checked into numerous things, including a foot warmer mat, but most were not designed for outdoor use.

I came across these mats and thought they were the best thing I could use...warm, but not hot, easy to clean (chickens are really messy) and there is wire around the cord to discourage chewing. My chickens, of course, peck at anything unfamiliar to them. This was the product for me and for my chickens.

I have only had the mat plugged in for a few days, because we have had a week long run of cold weather. I also have it plugged into a thermostatically controlled plug. It is a plus that there is little to no risk of fire.

I think this mat will work out just fine for me and my chickens! Nice product.

I bought this for an outside shelter for some stray cats who live next to my garage. Keep it plugged in during cold weather in the water tight enclosure (to keep it dry) and it works great.

My new Beagles love the dog house when they are outside while I am gone. Problem is that they are house dogs, and really don't like the cold, even when they can snuggle up with warm blankets and each other. This mat fits the large dog house well, and allows both of them to look happy and comfortable inside it.

The house is molded plastic with a top that fits over the base. I drilled a hole in the base large enough for the plug to pass through. Then I plugged the mat into an outdoor extension cord and covered the connection with a unit designed to keep out moisture. The other end of the cord went into an outside outlet with GFI protection (important). That outlet is turned on and off by a switch inside my house; a red light glows when it is on.

The mat is very hard plastic nearly an inch thick. It appears to be dog proof. The included cover is junk. It is thin and barely covers the top of the mat. What dog neatly keeps his cover centered on his bed? Two older large human blankets work quite well, but it is a good idea to rearrange them when necessary so the mat is covered.

My pooches are very happy with their mat, and that makes me happy.

I love this bed. My big outside dogs got the soft one taken away because they started chewing on it, so they got this one and I have noticed they haven't moved it and both try to use it. It's a great buy for pups or dogs who chew. My dogs have a huge yard, but still chew on things. The cord is reinforced with coiled wire to prevent them from chewing on it as well.

Piece is well made, sturdy. Throws off good heat, but not too hot. We have it inside a outdoor Cat house I built. It is insulated so this seems to be enough to keep the whole house warm.

Our outdoor cat is on it all the time. A little possum also stops by often to groom itself and hang out.

The costume looks exactly like it's supposed to... It's just really hard to get the right size for your dog. The company lists small dogs and medium dogs but even the small dog costume is pretty big. A plus side is that our dog really loves the banana that came with it!

Purchased this for my golden retreiver who has a nice snug custom dog house. I plugged it inside the house before taking it and property plugging it into the ground fault. Inside the house it took almost 30 minutes to get barely warm, this would not work as an indoor heater, much less outside. The product clearly states it is best used in temps 20 degrees and below, there is no way this would even slightly warm my animal. It will be returned and I am back to square one for a good heater.

I have been very impressed with this heater. It is hard so my bigger dogs haven't been able to destroy it. I have used it out in a dog house and in a garage for pups. It is obviously warm to the touch much more noticeable than other heating mats I have tried.

I ordered this soft faux shearling sherpa lined coat for my dogs Darby (Shihkingnese), Hampshire (Shih Tzu), and London (American Eskimo).

I ordered a large (20"# blue coat for London, a medium #16"# pink coat for Darby, and a medium #16"# tan coat for Hampshire. The coats fit them perfectly.

The colors just pop--Zack and Zoey do it again! The coat is classic and chic. The picture doesn't do this coat justice.

The coat is made in three colors tan, blue, and pink, and it has a pristine shearling berber white collar that has one horizontal stripe across the upper back, and two vertical stripes on the back.

The strips merge to form that beautiful shearling pattern that is found in most authentic suede shearling garments.

The coat is lined with a warm fluffy white berber fiber which is an accent around the entire hem of the garment from top to bottom. This cozy sherpa lined coat will keep your dog warm.

The coat has two long tab adjustable velcro closures on the underbelly area. However, the coat does not completely cover the chest, waist, and underbelly area. There is also a two tab velcro closure at the collar.

Therefore, it would be prudent to pair it with a romper, long sleeved turtleneck, or long sleeved sweater to provide coverage for the under belly and four legs in very cold climates where the temperature drops below 40 degrees.

The coat washes well and maintains its rich color after many washes. I also toss the coat in the dryer, and it comes out perfect. The coat is 100% polyester. Zack and Zoey have some of the best made garments in the industry.

As you can see, I only gave it 4 stars...that is because I ordered the wrong size. I set it up and I have 2 small dogs and it is way to big for them. HOWEVER, before I could take it down and repack it, they went inside it and began playing in it. So, since they went inside I did not feel it was right to send it back. Needless to say they have so much fun in it, but it takes up more space than I would like to give up. It is made well and VERY sturdy. It is easy to pop up, and that is all the assembly it takes...just a quick pop-up. It is a very good buy, because it costs so much more on other websites...about $17.50 more on other websites. I use it indoors, however, it is made for outdoors. I imagine with the heavy waterproof canvas it is made of it would keep your pet warm and dry. I do recommend it. I am going to the the smaller one and give this to my son's dog.

I have 2 small cats with a very mild flea problemI've only seen a couple fleas on them. I tried this natural flea product after reading about the horrible side effects of topical pet pesticides (Frontline, Advantage, etc.) and even side effects of other "natural products" like Natural Defense. My cats disliked the intense smell of Ectopamine but, more importantly, it seemed to have no effect. I applied it on a Wednesday and by the following Saturday the oils had evaporated and the fleas were back. I am also concerned about reapplying Ectopamine repeatedly since its main ingredients are peppermint, clove, and lemon grass oil and these oils can cause liver damage in cats over time because cats can't metabolize essential oils like we humans can.

I've tried Frontline in the past, but it no longer works on fleas in our area. After researching I realized how dangerous it is not only for the pet for the humans around them as well. We tried Ectopamine and it definitely works, but it has a sharp drop off in effectiveness after 2 1/2 to 3 weeks depending on how bad your fleas are. We have two cats living in the same house, but one cat has fleas and other does not regardless of what we try to do around our house. In any event, ectopamine has kept at least one cat free of fleas while the other sleeps in places like hiding spots around the house that the fleas live. If ectopamine doesn't work for you it's because you need to get rid of fleas at their source. Flea treatments are only a repellent, not a solution for the source of fleas.

I have this product for already 2+ years, and it served my 11+yo Englih Setter with arthritis. Frankly, my dog prefers more her unheated Double Sided Geri-Bed (which I highly recommend), but this products deserves a good review nonetheless.

The heating element inside is a regular heating pad at the lowest setting you get in the drugstore...As dogs need lower temperatures for comfort, the bed maintains a comfortable tempearture setting for a DOG, while for a person it might seem barely warm.

The fabric is sturdy and washes well, but I wish it was denser to prevent hair penetrating into the foam insert, as it is impossible to get that hair out of the foam. I finally figured to use plastic bag between the foam and the cover to mitigate the problem.

I also wish the fabric seams were better finished inside. No, it hasn't fallen apart and the zipper is in perfet shape, but seams are frayed inside, which is annoying for me... although the fraying is not visible outside.

Over the years the foam still maintains its shape, i.e hasn't sunk, but the top surface shows significant wear however, my dog always "digs" for like 5 minutes before settling, so she ruined the surface quicker than a non-digging dog would.

Overall, the product is worth the $35-40 range, of satisfctory quality to last a few years, and looks decent. KV Vet store is fast on shipping.

I was extremely disappointed in this bed. I have a 7 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback who likes to sleep under a blanket. We keep the house relatively cool at night during the winter (64 degrees) and the dog will often move enough throughout the night to lose his blanket and end up curled in a tight little ball to stay warm. I was very excited when the bed arrived yesterday and I pulled it out and plugged it in at bedtime last night. There were no instructions with the bed, which I thought odd, only the warnings printed on the heating element and the normal "remove this tag and go to jail" tag on the bed that usually comes on pillows and mattresses. I laid the bed out and Shisma curled up on it to go to sleep.

When I woke up this morning, I put my hand on the bed, expecting to feel a cozy, radiant warmth. Nothing. Shisma was still curled in a tight ball like usual. I felt all over the bed and detected no warmth from the heating pad. I pulled up one corner and felt some heat on the bottom of the bed. The egg-crate "orthopedic" foam insulates the heating pad and doesn't allow the heat to flow through to the bed itself.

I unzipped the bed and pulled the heating element out and decided at that point to return the item. The bed itself is 27" wide and 36" long. The heating element is only 6" wide and 19" long and it was placed width-wise at the top of the bed where the zipper is. I should have checked that before I went to bed, but I didn't pull the heating element out, just unzipped and peaked inside to see that it was there. Even with the element placed in the center of the bed length-wise, it only provides a small strip of heat. And to feel the heat, the bed has to be flipped upside down (or the foam inserts reversed) since the egg-crate blocks the heat from escaping to reach the dog.

I had low expectations for the "orthopedic" function of the foam and was more concerned with the heat provided. However, with the heating element so small and the foam inserts so thin, I am completely disappointed in this bed and will be returning it immediately. For a third less than what I paid for this, I can purchase two heating elements separately and just insert them into a bed we already have with a zippered cover.

As others have noted, this bed does not get very warm on it's own, but I've felt it right after my dog got up after a long nap & it was quite toasty I would not want it much warmer. The size of the heating element is apparently the same size, no matter how large the bed I think it should be proportional to the bed as it seems very small for the size of hte bed.

I got this for my 13 year old Border Collie as the weather is getting colder. Getting up in our high bed was presenting some challenges after a recent shoulder injury. Since this is in our bedroom, I have it on a timer so that it is not wasting energy all day staying warm when it is not in use.

We have hardwood floors in our house & the slick fabric bottom on this bed makes it slide terribly deterring our dog from using it (it would slip when she stepped on it). This was resolved w/ the purchase of some of that rubber matting that goes under area rugs.

Overall, not a bad product but a larger heating element & less sliipery bottom fabric would be huge improvements.

Eleven-year-old Rudy (who suffers from osteo-arthritis) had an earlier heated bed, and enjoyed it well enough, but it was nothing like this one. The Ortho Thermo bed is double-thick, and evenly warm. It seems admirmably durable, as well. Most importantly, however, I noticed an immediate change for the better in Rudy. He's spry again, and takes the lead in walks instead of lagging. I literally feel this bed has added years back. It's a winner.

I bought one of these beds to try it out and see what the elderly dogs in our pack thought of it before buying multiples. The bed is a bit smaller than expected yes I checked the measurements first but it just seems smaller in person. However, the 16 and 11 year old Dobermans both used it throughout the day and seem to really like it with the heat on and off. The 13 and 10 year old Rhodesian Ridgebacks used it and decided they prefer their older, larger beds with bolsters and no heat. The verdict is to keep the K&H Ortho Heated Bed and buy one more for the Dobermans. The heat seems to be just right warm enough for me to feel on the bed, but not hot enough to make me worry about burns, overheating or damage to the bed itself if it's turned on for hours at a time through the winter.

We have seven dogs all sizes and a fairly small yard. They like to pee on the pavers and planters as well as in the yard. Seven dogs produce A LOT of poop. We live in a very warm and sunny climate. My backyard can quickly become disgusting. I've used a couple of the other yard odor killers [NaturVet and PetCo's brand], and while they work, nothing compares to this product's efficacy! I have tried several brands of yard spray for my gravel dog run. The dogs didn't mind the smell of this one, but it didn't dissipate the urine odor very well compared to others. My favorite brand stopped making the yard spray, so still shopping for one that works well. Also, if you are using this type sprayer for a small dog run, be careful not to spray on too much, it comes out quickly and the bottle empties fast!

I have three small dogs that live pretty much on a very large patio that also has a dog run with dirt. I am in the midst of training them and they have to stay out a lot. Needless to say, my patio and dirt area smell pretty bad even though I pick up poop when it happens and rinse the urine every day. My patio has been sealed but the urine still leaves an odor.

I've tried several products to remove the odor and this product is the only one that will remove it for several days.

Only problem is that this product is very expensive. I would like to see Simple Solution put a refill jug out for us to buy so that we can save $.

This product does a very good job of eliminating waste odors in the lawn. I noticed another review said it didn't work but mentioned that they did not pick up the yard regularly. Nothing will cover up the smell if you allow feces to sit for days! But since I pick up daily, more than once, this works very well for my yard which is used by 3 large dogs. I apply it once a month in the summer, and apply lime in the spring, summer, and fall, and I rarely have odor even on hot humid days. When it starts to get stinky again, I know it is time to spray. Regularly misting the lawn with water helps as well.

With 3pets I really try to keep my house, inside and out, from smelling like a kennel. This spray is a must have if you have any pets that urinate close to the house and in the same spot. You use it with the water hose and it really does remove the this house has dogs smell. I do however have to use it every month to 2 months. Great product.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program While I don't have any munchkins, I do have a couple Saint Bernards, and short of agricultural grade equipment, this gate has proven to be the ultimate solution. The gate looks nice enough, has a wide opening (wide enough for two saints to try to go through, but not wide enough for them to succeed), and it can be easily widened to fit most openings. Installation is straight forward: extensions attach via plastic bits with metal rods, grippy bolts go into the gate, and you expand the gate to fit the opening. When you first start, the gate will be quite open up top, and it will tighten up after a while. You will need the included wrench (or one of your own), and you may encounter an issue: the bottom bolts are way too low! As you can see in the pictures, they're at the bottom--the land of the baseboards! Worse yet, it's so low that quarter round molding, which someone saw fit to include in my home, calls home. Tighten the gate, and the whole gate rises. This isn't ideal, as the bottom bar can cause tripping if too high. A better solution can be found on other gates that simply place the bolts higher up. All is not lost, as the gate closes nicely, looks handsome, and the included hardware allows for semi permanent mounting (although the previously mentioned rising of the gate has let to the top bolts bending).

In the end, it's a good gate, but it can be a great gate (and it is if you don't have baseboards) with a simple design change.

The plastic gate mechanism is easy to operate, and our 3 1/2 year old toddlers can open it. It's also easy to swing the gate closed behind you; it will swing back into place and latch without having to reach back and operate the mechanism. The gate is a nice width, and also comes with extensions for use in larger gaps. I've encountered one drawback. Although it comes with cups and adhesive pads for tension mounting in a doorway, we have had it slip off the door a twice over the last few weeks. It also comes with screws to secure the mounting cups to the wall or door frame. I'm sure this would work great, but you have to want to put screw holes in your wall or doorway, which I was hoping to avoid. But overall this is a nice gate, that is well-built and attractive.

Now, it comes entirely assembled, but it comes packed in with extensions to help it fit doors up to 41 inches wide. It'll fit a standard size door right out of the box.

When you pull it out of the box, it'll seem like the door is crooked, but the instructions tell you that the door will fix itself when you mount it correctly. Look at the sides of the gate in the picture and you'll see that it has bolts on all four sides. It's not actually bolted to the wall, though. Those four bolts are clamping the gate to the wall, and as you tighten the bolts, that'll cause the crooked gate to correct itself.

As for the lock on the gate, the trick is you hate to squeeze both sides of the locking mechanism and push down. This is good, because a toddler isn't going to be able to make the connection that you have to do both. But, on the negative side, you're not going to be able to slam this gate shut, you have to put the lock in place every time. It'll only take a few seconds, though.

Oh, and the gate swings both ways.

So, I highly recommend it. It looks great. It's going to last a long time. And it's a small price to pay for piece of mind.

I purchased this gate for my new puppy after much research. It is very attractive, easy to install, and the gate opens easily. I was looking for a gate in which the gate would swing both ways, would stay open if you wanted it to; and had a wide gate opening. It is much wider than most of them which was important to me since I needed one that I could carry a small dog crate thru. I've only had this for one day now but I feel confident that I made the right choice and am very happy with my decision.

We had 2 of these gates... One was purchased a year ago and installed rather easily, though (as the written instructions warned) some of the plastic corner stoppers were difficult to remove. We purchased another recently and the 2 bottom stoppers could NOT be removed. The plastic was malleable and simply tore when we tried to pry it out as instructed, wouldn't budge. We had to return it, and now I'm sitting in my living room with the replacement gate in a pile of parts having the exact same problem as before. So frustrating, since we want the bottom gate to match the one at the top of the stairs. Perhaps Amazon had a problem with some of these getting hot and fused or something? But if you manage to install it, it's sturdy and good looking. Also, beware the width... Many stairwells are wider than 40.5, but you can buy extra extensions direct from the manufacturer to make them work. FYI: new instructions have only pics and are hard to follow.

I have a spaniel mix And he smells good for a week. People compliment all the time on how good he smells. Non-irritating as well this will last a long time. It is more runny then other shampoos but you don't need much to lather. well worth it

This is good shampoo, that just smells to much for my liking. It is rather thin and seems to take a lot to bath the dog. I probably would not buy it again, mainly because the odor is just to over powering.
