Was very surprised, equally as disappointed, to see 2 of the little heart charms fall off the necklace, within the first week-10 days of puppy wear. :(
Funny thing is that my puppy does a lot of sleeping at this stage, which wouldn't warrant excessive playing (motion filled activity) to have dislodged these little hearts into falling off so easily.
So, I am forced to give this necklace a 2 star rating, for defective craftsmanship, & hope that the manufacturer will read this, and improve their work. Better glue would avoid this problem..." Crazy Glue" is an excellent formula. Just saying.

Buy Outward Hound Shade Shelter, X-Large
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $59.99
Sale Price: $35.75
Today's Bonus: 40% Off

This is my fourth or fifth Outward Hound product I'm a huge fan of the brand and have always had great experiences with their products. Right up front, I want to urge readers to take the negative reviews of this product into consideration they are all fair (not the usual "this product suxxx") and should weigh equally as you decide on this product. I have not had any of the problems they mentioned (everything has held up nicely during use), but it does seem that quality control on this product was a little less than the usual stellar level I have come to expect from O.H. I would like to thank Boycott Boring and Kyjen for sending me a sample of this product to review they did so on the understanding that I would provide my HONEST feedback.
INTRO
Ok, so I definitely got some raised eyebrows from friends when I told them about the "doggy tent". I grew up with our family dogs being outdoor dogs, and though we provided them with a VERY nice wooden dog house, the idea of a special tent/shade just for them on family camping trips would have given my dad a laughter-induced heart attack! Still, this thing is pretty darn cool when set up, and serves an important purpose.
SET-UP
Mounting this shelter was incredibly easy it's about the same size as a children's play tent, and if you have set up a traditional tent before, you'll have no problems. Our first experiment was in the living room our first dog is a rescue and we wanted to introduce it in a comfortable environment. If you even SUSPECT that your dog might be weirded out by this product, I would highly suggest doing so. It took 20 minutes and plenty of treats, but she finally laid down and stayed in it. Our new pup (13 weeks old) of course loved how new and exciting it was! Moving it outside, each corner has holes for standard tent pegs, so now worries about this thing flying away with your pup in it!
MATERIALS AND QUALITY
Well, as with all Outward Hound products, the quality of fabric is very good. The ground sheet will stand up to your dogs claws, and is waterproof to protect from dew. The sides are not meant for rough and tumble, but match the quality of our family tent. The poles seem to be what everyone is having problems with. As I said at the beginning, I have had no issues after using this shade several times, but many other HAVE had issues. The good news? Replacement poles can be purchased to size from the better tent retailers, and not for crazy prices either. I absolutely agree that this shouldn't be necessary after paying for this product, but I wanted to highlight it as an option. Quality control lost this doggy tent a star, and I really would urge Outward Hound to go back to the drawing board on the poles, or at the very least change suppliers.
FUNCTIONALITY
Now as I said, this thing is a little extravagant. That said, when you're camping on a hot summer's day and your dog is on the ground trying to stay in the shade but getting bitten by passing critters, you'll wish you had something for them. This little shelter offers protection from the sun and heat, and serves to protect them from critters, dirt and yes, even wet ground. The slits in the tent are excellent for passing a rope through as long as you tie the leash higher up on a tree you won't put any undue strain on the slits. Now, this shelter is really only missing one GLARING feature...a way to enclose your dog. Now I know this isn't REALLY a tent, however for dogs that don't stay very well, a mesh closing with a zipper on the front would be so useful! It would take this shelter from being a place of shade to an all-night place of rest! I'm actually considering sewing zippered mesh on the front of the tent myself and seeing how they fare in it. I didn't take a star off because I received this product knowing there wouldn't be this feature, but I thought it worth mentioning.
OVERALL
Despite QC issues, I have had no problems with the shelter. It's super useful, big enough for our two pups to play in (25lbs apiece right now, but lanky) and definitely keeps the sun and critters to a minimum. One star was lost for quality control, and though I recommend this product, I do so with some hesitancy! It will be coming with us on our camping trip next month, but I might be making some modifications first! If decimal stars were allowed, I would rate this at 3.75 stars out of 5.

I purchased this tent for our medium size dog and she absolutely loved it! The tent material was nice and thick and we were sure we found the answer to bringing our dog camping with us without spending over $100 for a dog tent. The company was very nice when we contacted them because after several usages the poles snapped. Also the tent is starting to come apart at the seems. I certainly could resew it, however, the company stopped making this product so cannot even get replacement poles :( They told me that they had quality issues and have stopped making this product. All they can do is give you an equivelant product pricewise. Since they do not have any other dog tents, this is very frustrating.Best Deals for Outward Hound Shade Shelter, X-Large
First of all, you must realize that this is not a pop up tent, like I had originally thought it was. You have to put all of the poles into flimsy material , and while you do that, you have to be very careful not to break the poles. One of the poles bent and broke upon putting it together, which made the whole tent unusable. It would also be very time consuming to have to put this together and take it all down every time you needed to take it with you in the car. The whole purpose of this tent was to give our dogs shade during training or different outdoor trial events. This would not work with this tent, since it was not a pop up and way too flimsy.Honest reviews on Outward Hound Shade Shelter, X-Large
the poles for this tent broke on the first weekend we used it. the tent has many nice features, but the poles were so cheaply made the tent fell down.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Outward Hound Shade Shelter, X-Large
The Kyjen dog tent is great. It is easy to set up and has great features like zipper closures and screen sides when you want to let air through for your dog. When you're done, it packs down to a really small size, making it easy to store. It's really cool. We will be taking it on outings so our dogs can just kick back in comfort.Tuesday, July 15, 2014
Best Peanut Butter Smoothie Freeze-Dried Dog Treat (6-Pack) Deals
While these are a nice cool treat for your dog, it's much more economical to make your own. These containers are super small. Just mix together some plain yogurt, ripe bananas, blueberries, peanut butter and whatever else your dog likes, and you can make a LOT of treats for the same money as this tiny bit.
the product does have a peanut butter smell to it and there is absolutely no dairy or gluten in it so it is ok for them. just wish i could find a treat that is low in calories that she likes for dinner time so she stays off my lap :-)

Our dog loves these. We keep them in the freezer and usually give him one on a hot day or in a car trip. Our golden retriever doesn't seem to need the special dish that you can purchase separate, but we do take away the plastic container when he's done.Best Deals for Peanut Butter Smoothie Freeze-Dried Dog Treat (6-Pack)
mom and i saw this at our local PetCo and though that Josaphine would love them. she LOVES peanut butter. the little lady didn't care for it. i spoon fed her a little and she did like that but she wouldn't eat it or even do more then look at it in the bowl. now sure why, but i don't think she cares for cold things.the product does have a peanut butter smell to it and there is absolutely no dairy or gluten in it so it is ok for them. just wish i could find a treat that is low in calories that she likes for dinner time so she stays off my lap :-)
Honest reviews on Peanut Butter Smoothie Freeze-Dried Dog Treat (6-Pack)
I love this product! Once frozen, it is very simply to "pop out" of the plastic container and into your pup's bowl. While others complain about the size, I think it is just right as they seem very rich. I'm very satisfied with the quality of ingredients and overall product.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Peanut Butter Smoothie Freeze-Dried Dog Treat (6-Pack)
I have joined BarBox and i got the Fruity one. My dogs absolutely loved it. I went on amazon and they were much cheaper than the original website and i found these peanut butter ones. I bought them knowing that my two mini pomerainians love peanut butter, and they absolutely loved these too! I am very happy with these and very economical for a 3 pound (12 weeks old) and a 11 month old 11 pound pomeranian. I give them less than half in a day to share and then the next day they get a little more and then the nest. One tub last 3 days for them. I wrap it back up in aluminum foil and put it back in the freezer. I love them! Thank you!!!!!Monday, July 7, 2014

Have had this outside in Florida and now in Oklahoma. It seems to stay dry inside and blocks the wind. It is dirty but that can easily be cleaned. Unfortunately my dog wont go in it.
I bought this Barnhome doghouse and found all the great reviews to be true:
1. two large easy pieces for construction (top & bottom)
2. simple & easy to clean
3. no leaks when it rains
4. there are no paint or wood fumes
5. made of thick long-lasting plastic
6. very affordable
And for someone who wanted a "cute" dog house, this one is pretty good looking, too!
I got the medium barnhome 3 and the medium igloo pet warmer bed for my three kitties & they LOVE it! It's the purr-fect heated kitty barn. If you are looking to keep your cats comfortable & warm in the cold months..then get this home & a heated bed.
For dogs this would be the right size for a 30-40 lb dog. My beagle mix, who's 22# went in and it was plenty big for him & my Chow mix who's 57# went in and it was a tight fit for her.
Heavy Duty and seems like it will last for years. It shipped SUPER fast & I got it before the "expected date" which was good 'cuz my kitties needed a cozy bed.

I researched A LOT of dog houses before committing to purchasing this one. I was originally looking for something cuter for my terrier mix, something that looked like a traditional wooden or faux-wooden dog house, but those had lots of complaints about rot and leakage and smells.I bought this Barnhome doghouse and found all the great reviews to be true:

I bought this for my 20lb shiba inu, and it's perfect for her! It's very spacious so she can lie down with her legs spread out, but not so big that there's a ton of extra space left. Tall enough so she can sit comfortably in it too. The plastic it's made of is durable and because of the way the roof is designed, it's easy to wipe off any leaves, dirt, and dust that may land on it. There is an opening in the back for better air circulation (even though the opening at front is big enough), but I have absolutely no concerns of rain getting in from the ventilation holes in the back. It also comes with a few screws to screw the top to the bottom. Only problem is that the holes where you're supposed to screw in, are not holes because the manufacturer didn't punch those holes for you. You'd have to get a drill and drill the hole yourself. You can see the locations of where the holes are supposed to be though, so the plastic is thinner, and you can see a circle indent where the hole for the screws are supposed to be. I understand this product is really cheap for what you're getting, so I don't mind that they didn't drill the holes for us.Honest reviews on PETMATE 290708 Barn Home III for Medium Pets

This toy takes more effort to get food out than the Buster Cube, which I like because it occupies the dog longer. I find that the cube, even on its "hardest" setting only takes a few minutes to get out most of the food, and then the rest doesn't come out no matter how long the dogs work it. With the bottle the dogs can get nearly all the food out if they keep at it.
At first you should fill the bottle so that it is over half full. This way food can come out more easily when it is on its side. This will encourage the dog to play with it. Once the food level goes down food will only come out as they toss and pull the bottle. It took my dog a few days to get to this, but now she seems to have mastered it. She stands the bottle up and knocks it over, putting food into the neck, then she works the rope a bit and manages to get a piece of kibble out. When I first got the toy I thought she would never be able to figure it out, but she has. Even so, it takes a fair amount of work to get out just a few pieces of food, so it can keep them occupied all day.
To fill with treats, just twist off the bottom; couldn't be easier. It's a lot of fun watching our dog figure out how to get at the goodies inside.
I honestly don't think the rope pull is going to last very long; especially if you are buying this for an aggressive chewer. However, don't let that stop you from buying the tug-a-jug. Even without the rope, it's still a great and challenging toy.
Tucker was nervous about this toy at first (as you'll see in the video) but really warmed up to it quickly and has enjoyed gnawing on it. However, this has not worked very well for us as a treat dispenser. I consider Tucker to be quite a clever puppy, but after fiddling with the tug-a-jug for a couple days, he just began bringing the thing to me and dropping it at my feet for me to dispense the treats for him. (I suppose that may be evidence of just how clever he is!)
As far as treats to go into it remember that the rope is knotted inside the jug, so don't put anything into the jug that's soft or the rope will end up smelling REALLY nasty...

Our 16 month old yellow lab loves to play with empty 2 liter pop bottles. I bought him this toy because I worried he would cut his mouth and gums on the sharp plastic shards of those flimsy bottles. No worry about that with the Tug-a-Jug...this toy will most likely survive through the next millennium! To fill with treats, just twist off the bottom; couldn't be easier. I have a medium size dog 38 pounds. He enjoys to chew on things but I have never thought of him as a heavy chewer. The night I received this he was so excited about it. It was so tempting to see, hear and smell the treats. Well, within 20 minutes the toy was in the garbage. He chewed off the rubber toy that blocks the treats from coming out. He then started to chew where the smell of the treats is able to escape. The plastic fell apart so easily! He then started to break off little pieces. I woudl not recommend this for a medium or large sized dog!Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for PetSafe Busy Buddy Tug-A-Jug Meal Dispensing Dog Toy
Our dog loves her Bad CUZ, but this toy she loves more than any other. She's a VERY tough chewer, and it's survived for quite some time with no damage. One thing protect your toes with this toy it's pretty heavy and does get swung around a bit. I wouldn't recommend this toy if you have low tables with knick-knacks, sensitive shins or teeny kids that may get bonked with it. Ours has gotten thrown (by the dog) repeatedly down the stairs onto a hard floor and hasn't broken yet.As far as treats to go into it remember that the rope is knotted inside the jug, so don't put anything into the jug that's soft or the rope will end up smelling REALLY nasty...

I did quite a bit of research and read all available reviews. I chose this product. My two 15 lb miniature schnauzers stay in the same cage and enjoyed the comfort this product offered. HOWEVER, it did not hold up more than two weeks before normal everyday dog play had created two holes in the fabric. Once created, they removed all of the internal stuffing. What is most disappointing is that overall my dogs are not chewers, yet I am out the money and am yet again shopping for another dog crate bed.
Bottom line: very comfortable bed, not at all durable.
I order the 29X21. It fit into my 30X19 crate. And after I covered the fabric with his sheet, he seemed to really like it.
Decent item and it serves it purpose.

This pet bed was even nicer than I had imagined when I ordered it online... very plush, just enough "stuffing" and fits into the crate really well. Our dogs love their new beds! My dog loves this pet bed! I bought several different pet beds before coming across this one. He tore up the others or wet on them. This bed has lasted a long time. I put it on an ottoman and that is the place he will always lie down. I'm getting another for his crate so I don't have to move it. It really lasts and is comfortable without being too fluffy. My dog is a Rottweiler mix (very big) and has not been able to chew this one apart. It also looks nice and it's easy to wipe off. I love it!Honest reviews on Midwest Deluxe Micro Terry Bed, Taupe

I learned something new about my dog. His mortal enemy is micro terry/microfiber/microsuede/whatever you call it. Whenever he comes into contact with it, he task is try and rip it to shreds. This bed stood up to an intense attack from a little pomeranian named Simon. He clawed, bit, and dug into this thing and so far no damage. That is until I washed it. That seemed to make it more susceptible to his nails when it wasn't underneath his sheet. My dog seems to have found a way to pull out the stuffing.I order the 29X21. It fit into my 30X19 crate. I love the design and durability of the crate. However, the crate requires you to insert the two support bars at the top of the crate to prevent it from collapsing inward. You have to insert one end and push in the bar and stretch the canvas of the crate to get the bar to fit into the other end. This is a pain especially if you are a weakling.Other soft sided folding crates have a better designed folding mechanism. I would pay a bit extra and get one of these types of crates instead.

good product, light and compact. easy to take apart and transport. if you have a hyper dog (like i do), it is easy for them to tipu the cage over. my solution was to "anchor" the straps on the top to a dresser drawer, door knob, etc. also, our dog (a mini dachshund) is quite good at getting the zipper on the front open. buy a clip of some sort to keep the two zippers together.Honest reviews on Soft Dog Crate
The size was great, easy to put together and collapse but the first time we used it and left our son's dog in it (the dog was alone 15-20 min before our son came home) the dog scratched out of the front screen door and shredded it. Our son found him greeting him at the door.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Soft Dog Crate

Reviews of Lucky Dog Windscreen Shade and Winter Kit for Lucky Dog Kennels, 57
This is well worth the money. It really keeps the wind off of your pet. It is actually warmer inside the kennel. Your pet can see through it, so he doesn't feel like he's in a cave, which is great for your "watch dog". We have the roofing system with it and would highly recommend it as well.

A year after ordering the 5' x 10' deluxe Lucky Dog kennel (and also thermoplastic flooring), I decided to add the windscreen shade and winter kit, and I'm very glad I did so. Previously I was placing an outdoor white table cloth on the kennel to keep the sun and wind off my English springer spaniel, and it was held to the kennel by shower curtain rungs and my daughter told me it looked very tacky. So I ordered the windscreen (made to fit my size kennel) and it works just great. I used only half of the material during this past Memphis summer (folded it under) so there would be both shade and an open area for my dog to look out, but this winter I plan to place it completely around the sides to keep out the majority of the rain and snow (I have a wooden dog house inside the kennel, and I winterize it as needed). And so now the kennel looks very cool with the appropriate-sized black ventilated shade material attached securely (yet can be removed if needed) on the black powder-coated kennel; I might add that the Lucky Dog kennel is extremely well-made and neighbors have offered compliments on how good it now looks). I plan to report back in a year how well windscreen/winter kit holds up to the elements, but it appears to be very good synthetic mesh material and it comes with plenty of ties (really too long so I cut them off with the pliers after the tie) and brass-type grommets for the ties, and so I have given it the highest rating.Best Deals for Lucky Dog Windscreen Shade and Winter Kit for Lucky Dog Kennels, 57

Difficult to use with Lucky Dog Kennels...lot of overlap and hard to get under existing roof tarp that came with kennel.Friday, April 25, 2014
Review of Carolina Pet Co. Indoor / Outdoor Synthetic Gusset "Jamison" Bed
Both of my labs fit very comfortably! The fabric seems tough, too. The only things that bug me: the color is just okay and I wish it didn't collect hair as much as it does.
Zack & Zoey Fairy Tails Dog Costume - Pink Review
The packaging was a bit ghetto. We bought it as a gift and had to put an extra card-board to make the whole package look good.
Recommended if you're buying for you're own dog and don't care about the package.

My Pomeranian, Sophie, looked adorable for Halloween in her Fairy Tails costume. We had over 120 kids come to my door that evening for Trick or Treat and many of them were so amused by Sophie's Halloween look.Best Deals for Zack & Zoey Fairy Tails Dog Costume - Pink
This doggy outfit fits perfectly. The outfit is made of quality material and is constructed very well except for the wings, they needed a small stitch to keep them from turning sideways. Excellent deal. I wish I could find more items that fit this well, this affordable, that were made with this level of quality.Honest reviews on Zack & Zoey Fairy Tails Dog Costume - Pink
Overall, the costume is cute and was worth the sale price I got it for. Everybody loves this dress when she wears it. The tutu had less fluff than was expected, so I had some added to it, making it cuter. The length was great, but it was a bit wide for my dog. The main problem is that the darker pink body of the costume is way too stretchy/loose, this allows the costume to sag a lot.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Zack & Zoey Fairy Tails Dog Costume - Pink
If I could give zero stars I would. I bought this in advance for our min pin to wear to the local Renaissance festival and before she even had a chance to wear or try it on, the material on the wings were shedding on the wings. She is growing and the festival is over so I will recover the fabric on the wings and give it to someone else but it was a complete waste of money, I found better at Walmart far cheaper AFTER this.....yes, Walmart and Target now sell doggy outfits that are really cute!Wednesday, March 5, 2014
Buy Boomer Ball From Company Of Animals Boomer Ball
I have a 3 year old Bull Terrier and he is a spinner. I've tried everything to try and get him to stop. Most internet sites say to teach him to sit and make him sit when he starts. I believe it is impossible to teach a chronicly dazed spinning dog to sit. When he is spinning, it is like he forgets all of his surroundings, he'll knock the kids over, move furniture and it drives me crazy. A breeder site recommended the boomer ball to help entertain him. I was skeptical, would my dog really push a ball around the yard with his face? Something he can't even fit his mouth around (I had thought his favorite thing to do was immediately destroy any toy I brough home for him, he couldn't help it). Right now, I've had the boomer ball for 3-4 weeks and he LOVES it, I LOVE it. We play with it together, like soccor, he plays with it by his self. I watch him manuever the ball around, with a apparent thought process and it makes me really see for the first time that he is a smart boy and very capable. Since I got the boomer ball, he doesn't spin no where near as much and it is easier to stop him by just calling his name. This is my best purchase this year. We enjoy each others company so much more now and it's given us the chance to really work together. He is calmer and happier now. Thank you!!

It has stood up very well over two months with a young lion and a young grizzly bear each playing with one. We have a sanctuary for exotic animals and have cubs that need enrichment. Both the lion and the grizzly each have one of these and they are still enjoying them.Best Deals for Boomer Ball From Company Of Animals Boomer Ball
We are very disappointed in this product. It is a hard plastic ball. Our dog will not play with it.Honest reviews on Boomer Ball From Company Of Animals Boomer Ball
She's still a large puppy and chooses chew toys but I start playing with the boomer ball myself LOL! I like the humming noise it makes rolling around, the hard indestructible shell, and it rolls smoothly. I roll it with my puppy. I bought the 10" bc my puppy will be about 90-100lbs full grown.Find helpful customer reviews and review ratings for Boomer Ball From Company Of Animals Boomer Ball
This is not a good ball. It is a hard plastic ball. The dog cannot bite it nor push on it thus I guess the reason for saying it I "indestructible". My dogs just pretty much run around this ball in the yard. Kind of dumb if you ask me.Thursday, February 6, 2014
Review of WACKYwalk'r Urban Dog Leash - Huge - Black
I have 3 large dogs and use the wacky walker leash and tripler. Before getting the wacky walker leash and tripler I would find myself constantly untangling leashes when I walked the three of them together. With this arrangement it is a piece of cake. Thanks Wacky Walker for your great products! We have a large young dog and this leash has made lease training so much easier. When he pulls ahead it no longer feels like my shoulder is being pulled out of joint and it gently pulls the dog back. The lease is rather expensive but it was worth it.

Kong Noy Toy Duck - Extra Small Review
These toys are among the best plush dog toys out there, and we've tried several. I don't think any are truly "indestructible" since there's always a dog somewhere that will defy that claim, but these are well made and worth buying for the majority of dogs. Just be *sure* to buy the size that suits your dog; don't buy one too small that can be swallowed easily! Dr. Noys' toys are great in that they always include an extra squeaker in the pack, and the toy squeaker is easily replaceable in its hidden velcro pouch. (Squeakers are not indestructible; that's why they include an extra. But the advantage here is that they are very secure, and can't be eaten.) You can even buy separate packages of squeakers if your dog is tough on plush toys. Or you can remove the squeaker if it drives you crazy! ;-) In the larger sizes you can replace the squeaker with a tennis ball for active dogs.
Pay attention to the sizes listed: extra-small is really small, best for only the tiniest toy breeds or for small puppies. Medium will work for most dogs, but if your dog is a shredder, loves to destroy plush toys, only get the large sizes. If you have certain breeds, like Staffordshire terriers and bull dogs, then perhaps another toy would be a wiser choice. You know your dog.
So if you're tired of buying so-called "dog toys" that are really glorified baby toys and easily destroyed, try these. Ours have lasted for two years with hard play, only replacing the squeakers. Even better, they're usually included in the Amazon 4-for-3 promotion, so you can get one free if you buy four (smaller sizes--selected vendors)! That way you can test out different designs, or save one for later. Highly recommended!

My dog loves these toys, especially the duck. This is the only toy she plays with. She does have several and she carries them all over the house. Even though it is the same toy she has a hard time deciding which one she will choose. A bonus is that the company also includes an extra squeaker with each toy which is good because she loves to chew it. These toys can also be washed with the squeaker in. One more bonus is that they come in sizes extra-small to large which makes it perfect for my little dogs mouth to pick up. I definately would recommend this toy for any dog!Dr. Noy's Material Extra Small Toys Duck for DogsBest Deals for Kong Noy Toy Duck - Extra Small
This little ducky is my doggies one and only. I'm not sure exactly what it is but she loves this ducky. I've purchased other extra small Kong toys, the monkey, giraffe and others but only the ducky will do. We've purchased at least a dozen I don't know where they all go because she treats them with such love they never get shredded! Thank you Kong and Dr Noy! Perhaps you should consider selling them in bulk. :)
