I read the previous reviews AFTER ordering this dog house and was very worried about my purchase. But honestly I was shocked how WRONG a lot of the reviews were in my opinion.

My dog is an 80lb shepherd who is OUT OF CONTROL, lol, he's a great dog but he is very large and is still a puppy so very hyper and he destorys...well... everything!!!!! and not only does he LOVE his dog house, but he has not been able to destroy it like others in their reviews mentioned. He's jumped on it and pushed it and its still stand there just fine.

It's basically made of thick plastic so it "seems" flimsy when you take it out of the box but once its snapped together it is quite sturdy. The first time I put it together it did seem flimsy then I realize a couple of the snaps were not fully in place, once I corrected that I have NO complains on its durability.

It is hallow, as far ss no insolation so I got a dog mat for inside and put a blanket inside but he'd rather sleep in it empty as he pulls all the bedding out every time I turn around...

Over all I think its a great dog house and worth the money!!!

I have an older dog, so didn't want to spend a ton of money for something, not knowing how long it would be used (sadly), despite the other reviews, I wanted to find out myself. It was very simple to put together, I did not find it flimsy, maybe if all the tabs aren't locked into place. Someone said theirs blew away in a wind storm, but it IS recommened to be fastened down, which I did, made a frame of wood and fastened it to it, seems to be very sturdy. I cut a scrap piece of carpet to fit and my dog is now in HEAVEN! Yes it isn't insulated, but think that can be easily remedied by anyone who is a little bit handy. I think what I like the best is not having to paint it, wash it down and be done with it! It is also a very cute house.

I bought this dog house for my neighbor, who owns a very large wolf hybrid. Unfortunately they had the poor thing tied to the side of their house with nothing to sleep in. So I gave this to their kids as a Christmas gift. It is very very large and easily fits their 60 pound dog inside (although the door is a bit low, so he has to bend down to crawl in).

I assembled the house prior to giving it to them. It took me about an hour by myself. I like to consider myself a tough little lady, but I'm not as strong as I think I am. For the most part this house was self explanitory and decently simple. I didn't bother to look at the instructions. There were a few times that were quite frustrating because the peices wouldn't fit together properly. It took a lot of strength to get them to 'click' into place. But eventually I got them all put together. It's simply a snap-together assemblyno extra hardware required. If it's put together right the house is very very sturdy. I could imagine that if it was put together wrong it would be very wobbly and unstable. But if you take your time it will turn out to be quite strong.

The plastic is very thick and durable. I highly doubt any pup could easily chew it apart and I don't think the sun or rain will wear it down. We live in Alaska so our cold temperatures take a toll on plastic itemsthey often crack. But this dog house has heald up as good as my dogs' wooden ones. The blue and grey color is very subtle so it doesn't look like a gawky plastic accessory in your yard. And I think it fits in quite nicely with my neighbor's swingset (that also shares the same color scheme).

This house comes with plastic flaps that keep wind out of the door. We didn't put these on, as their dog has the uncanning ability to make anything that 'waves' into a toy. I was afraid he would chew them up and swallow them. But for calmer dogs I'm sure it would be a greatly appreciated block from the wind. Even so the door is small enough to keep strong gusts out. And the walls offer a decent amount of protection. There are no gaps or spaceswhich is a nice way to keep it insulated and warm. The floor is simply plasticwhich doesn't offer much insulation, but is nice and cool for summer.

Because it's just plastic it wouldn't be adequate for winter time. For the summer it offers a very cool place. But in the winter we fill it with grass to keep it insulated. So far it has heald up really wellin both winter and summer. It hasn't been chewed (surprisingly) and the pieces stay together as if they were glued. For the price it was a great buy. I don't think you could find a wooden dog house of this size for such an affordable dollar amount. And if you just need a shady area or enclosed spot to keep your pupthis would work ideally.

This dog house is fantastic. I have two American Bulldogs weighing just a little over 100lbs each. They are so roomy. We bought two of these houses because we had a serious tick problem and noticed the ticks were living in our wooden dog house. The plastic dog house worked perfectly. No more ticks living in the dog house now. Not to mention they can easily be moved and cleaned. It was so easy to assemble. Our family loves them and so do the dogs. Thanks.

This is a pretty good dog house for middle size dogs. I have a rottweiler and she can easily dismantle it when she is bored. It has no insulation properties so do not depend on it in the cold. If your dog is under 60 lbs its a good buy. Otherwise, go with something a bit more sturdy.

I got two for my German Shepherds and was very disappointed the moment I received them. The " leather" was cracked at bend where folded. After a month of them wearing it the color was so cracked and the metal ring rubbed and made it very dirty. Very cheap looking :(

The collar was stiff and the clasp was useless. The clasp was like a belt but it didn't stay. The moment my dog made the slightest movement the collar would come off, with not even the slightest amount of hold. It was a complete waste of my money.

The color of this collar is true to the image, but the leather is extremely stiff. I plan on finding a way to soften it a bit before putting it on my dog. It's also slightly annoying that there isn't a loop to hold the excess color to itself, as it sticks out awkwardly straight.

I thought the leash would come with the collar due to the picture but it didn't [which isn't too big of a deal I guess, I have alot of leashes anyway]. On the picture it looks almost lime green like and very girly but when i opened it, it was more of 2 shades up from an army green. I love the white outline on it though. I bought the 18-22 inch for my 1 yr old doberman pinscher/great dane mix [she usually wears the 19/20 hole] but it was way too big [had it on the 18 hole and it was sliding off her neck] and boyish looking anyway for her. Luckily I have a male american bulldog that it'll hopefully fit... If it doesn't, then I guess it'll be for our next dog we get eventually. It also looks and feels fake leather like, I was expecting more of the leather look and feel to it. Hopefully it will withstand long enough to be worth the price for it. Overall it's just an ok collar.

This rug is beautiful! I got a blue one for my male dog and a purple one for my female dog. It holds their food and water bowls (which are stainless steel and match each of their rugs). This rug is beautiful and does a great job of soaking up spilled water! Very happy with my purchase!

This rug is really cute, but make sure you measure the space you want it for. I was thinking I was getting something larger (totally my bad because it was the right length, but not width in the middle). If you just want it to keep your smaller pet dishes from sliding around on wood or concrete this is perfect. If you are trying to absorb some doogie drool and splashes of water from the water bowl, it probably isn't large enough unless you have a toy pup. I do not yet know about durability, but it does absorb water, just smaller in size and not for medium large sized dogs in terms of soaking up water drooling.

I got this heater for a dog house that is used by some feral cats I care for. I was a little disappointed in it because, due to the location of the air flow vents (on the sides of the heater box), it cannot be mounted with the base on the floor. It must be mounted with the base on the wall. This makes it stick out into the open area where the cats would lay, and takes up space inside the dog house. So, I got out the power tools and mounted it vertically on a couple rails that I installed diagonally across a rear corner of the dog/cat house, about three inches above the floor. Thus, the heater is essentially suspended in air, and does not touch the house. Then to compensate for the loss of floor space, I put in a wide shelf for them to lay on. I also added a screen between the heater and the living space, put in some fireproof insulation to the sides and ceiling, and calked seams and cracks in the sides of the the structure.

Winter is coming, and we have had snow already. Night time temps are in the thirties, and have dropped into the upper teens a couple times. The cats have been warm and cozy in their heated house.

Note: If you don't want to mount the heater on the wall (or in a corner) and put in on the floor, you'll want to cut some vents in the top door of the heater box to allow air to flow through the heater. I probably could have saved myself a little work (and aggravation), if I had done that, but didn't want to mess with the heater's structural integrity.

The unit I received did not have what I would call a "replaceable" heating element (certainly not by the user in my opinion). There was no specific/definite information about the actual heating element used inside the steel box (either on the Amazon product page or the Akoma manufacturers website)no picture or anything (except for the stated 90 watt rating and a strangely misleading reference to a "Bulb Wattage 100 watt"). The "Bulb Wattage" reference and the fact that elsewhere on their website they did offer a replacement standard screw-in type ceramic heating element (that seemingly works in a standard light bulb lampholder) led me to think that the unit I ordered would contain the same type of screw-in heating element. Instead, what I found inside was a hard-wired open-coil resistance wire heating element that is connected and situated in such a way that, in my opinion, the unit would most certainly have to be returned to the manufacturer if the heating element ever needed to be replaced.

For the price I also expected an armored or chew-resistant power cord which it did not have.

Also, just FYI, the outside of the box gets really HOT!

Still, it does actually seem to perform as advertised and provides much heat. It's just not completely what I expected according to the descriptions provided.

For the price I was worried it would be cheesy, also the neg. reviews scared me but I bought one anyway, mind you I need 4 total but ordered just one so I could judge for myself. This carrier is amazing, its huge and my cats are no thin models, all 4 of my cats are 16lbs and over, my big girl is close to 22lbs and there is plenty of room for her. I just received my new pet carrier in the mail yesterday. I had read all the reviews before i purchased, i was iffy. I couldn't finsd another carrier i liked though, so i went ahead and ordered anyways, worried about size, quality, and so on. When i recieved it i immediatly opened the packaging. The carrier was mailed in a nice little carrier bag. I was already impressed. I unzipped the bag, and there behold a beautifully pink plaid pet carrier. With 2 different zipped doors, and lots of pockets, a nice sturdy metal framing, it even came with a little soft bedding for the inside. I was totally shocked! I thought that i would recieve a carrier that would fall apart within a few trips out. But no, the material is nice, and thick.

If you're an animal like me, then you are picky with what you buy for your pets, for their safety and they're security, then i believe that you will love this. I bought this for my indoor cat, so she wouldn't fear going out of the house, when we take her out. I sat it out all yesterday and she explored it, and LOVED it! I'm so happy with my purchase. She later even curled up and slept in it. :)

I first bought this as a Christmas present for my two dogs. One of them was very sensitive to new foods and had a tendency to throw up after eating most dog biscuits or treats, so I was concerned about this one. However, both dogs loved the peanut butter flavor immensely and this was one of the few she did not get sick on. Like the oversized size of these pads and the fact that the absorption material goes to the edge so there has not been any run off issues like I have had with other brands if one of the dogs pees to close to the edge.

The white/lt pink color is nice compared to the bright blue you get with some of the brands. Makes them a little less conspicuous around the house.

I would caution you to be careful when removing the pads from the bag or opening them so you don't accidentally tear the pad. I did this once when I was in a rush. The layers aren't bonded together like some of the other brands and that was why the tearing happened.

The pads are certainly very strong and do the trick, it was just me in a big rush opening the pad.

I'm sure not everyone has had this experience, otherwise this product would have been recalled. Here's the story and it's not pretty. About 4 or 5 days after I plugged in the diffuser, my dog starting having liquid diarrhea and gas. I couldn't get a full night's sleep for days because I had to take him out every couple hours throughout the night. The vet prescribed some medication to give his colon some relief. Because of the proximity in time between activating the diffuser and my dog getting diarrhea, and that there was no dietary explanation, I thought maybe the dog appeasing pheromone was causing it. So, I unplugged it for a while. My dog got better, with the help of the medication of course.

Then, I waited about 3 weeks and plugged the diffuser back in. I wanted to make absolutely sure it was the pheromone and not just a coincidence. Well, 5 days later he started having liquid diarrhea and gas again. So, I unplugged the diffuser and threw it out, along with my 3 refill pack. He recovered soon after. I believe this dog appeasing pheromone is harmful to my dog. I'm really surprised no one else has mentioned this in a review. I can't have the only dog in the world that has this reaction to it. He's a hearty border collie.

I'm not necessarily saying don't get this product. I'm just suggesting you pay close attention to your dog's digestive health in the first week of installing your diffuser. If you notice any negative change, get rid of it.

My poor dog Chuck suffers from several noise anxiety issues and other behavioral issues. My vet suggested that I try the D.A.P. (Dog Appeasing Pheromone) Collar for Puppies and Small Dogs 15" first ( I also added the DAP Dog Appeasing Pheromone Electric Diffuser (48 mL)), before moving onto Prozac. There were several issues I needed to address.

1. I have set the the fire alarm off on a few occasions while cooking, so now when ever I cook, Chuck becomes nervous and scared up to the point where he is panting and shaking like a vibrator. He usually exits the house through the dog door.

2. If our power goes off he instantly begins shaking and panting.

3. He has developed an issue with the dog door, it takes multiple tries before he makes it through.

4. He recently started urinating on the carpet, instead of going outside.

5. He has restless sleep at night.

Well as soon as I started using the D.A.P collar, I saw immediate improvement. Chuck has yet to start panting or shaking like he used to when I am cooking. The situation with the dog door has improved. He has yet to urinate on the carpet. He now sleeps the whole night through. On a couple of occasions while sleeping, I have heard him suckling. It has not cure him, but it has taken a lot of the edge off.

We purchased this to replace our old, battered dog door. The difference is incredible! This dog door is well made and also looks nice. Basically it made our old dog door seem like an open window... the floor is much warmer now and so is the whole room. We have a german shepherd, boxer and mini poodle the shepherd is on the larger side and had us a little worried she wouldn't fit through, but she did. Keep that in mind if you have a large dog, it says "up to 100 lbs" on the box. My shepherd is probably right around 100 lbs.

I purchases a PetSafe door six years ago when our dog was a puppy. It has done what it was supposed to. The flap has shrunken now so rather than simply replace the flap, I thought I would upgrade to the "extreme Weather Pet Door." After all I do live in the Rockies and sometimes I've wanted more barrier between inside and the great outdoors than a single plastic flap.

My assumption was that this more expensive version would be the same quality as my original PetSafe Door. Was I fooled. Rather than carefully machined aluminum, this 'extreme' door is light weight plastic. Rather than snug fit, the pieces more or less fit together. To quote the instructions. "Note: Corners may not meet..." "Tape corners of inserts for easier installation"

There were two extra pieces of plastic included with the door that if you snip to size are an essential part of the installation process, in fact required to hold the various other plastic inserts together. These two pieces of plastic are not illustrated or mentioned in the instructions. I was lucky enough to notice them before the door was fully installed.

The cutting guide and template is about the right size, I think, but there are no dimensions specified for the hole. There is no warning that if you make the opening a fraction of an inch wider than the template, say cut on the outside of the pencil line you have drawn, the hole you've cut will not be hidden behind the plastic frame of the contraption.

The original aluminum door I purchased six years ago had a slide in panel that allowed one to securely lock the pet door and prevent strangers from wandering into the house. This new downgraded version has a snap on panel that will unlikely resist a firm kick from the outside without popping off.

What was once a quality product has been downgraded significantly. Any reviews written on older products do not apply. The hole required for this 'extreme' version is slightly larger than the older aluminum single flap door. As a result once you realize that you prefer to reinstall the older model, it's too late, the hole is too big for the old version to fit in.

It's sad to see a good company that once manufactured a quality products change so much. I was not surprised to read on the bottom of the box, "Made in China."

This is a great product. I live in TX and it keeps the heat / Cold / Wind from coming in the house unlike the other dog doors that have only one flap.

This door needs a locking function! Its big so even my kids go through it. That would not stop a criminal!

I am creating a bar that can attach to the screw holes to allow me to drop the bar accross the hole. This at least would make it harder for someone to squeeze through.

We like this door and it does seem to work well, but be advised that the template we got with the large size door was apparently sized only against the flap opening itself, and was not large enough to accommodate the entire insert frame of the dog door. We had to cut an extra two inches out of the bottom of the kitchen door to make it fit. Luckily, we had some space to work with. My husband is a mechanic and carpenter and knows what he's doing, so it's not like he can't read plans and attacked this job with a pair of salad tongs and a nail file. The paper template shows that the outside edge of the template is to be used when cutting the opening for the large door, but again, be aware that you're going to need more space than that to make the assembled frame fit. Also, the thermal flap does not attach and detach quickly. If you're going to use the thermal flap only in the winter and leave it off during the summer, you'll have to take the outside face off the dog door, unscrew the thermal flap, and reassemble the plastic face again twice a year.

I bought this door about a year ago to replace a single flap door that let cold air in and blew open in heavy winds. This door was a pain to assemble and install without falling apart and I had the door on sawhorses. After installation the best adjusting I could do and still had small gaps on sides of both doors that let in plenty of air, not so good, and it also blew open just like a single flap,(wife was not impressed either and I had to hear about it all winter). I used sticky velcro (the fuzzy side) to give the door something to seal against, I tried all kinds of things to no avail, I should have returned it right away. After about year of the weather and sun (Installed on west side of House) beating on the outside flap it is all curled up and does not even seal it has 1/2" gaps on the sides and I think should have lasted much longer than it did. The inner flap is a joke, the hinge point at the top is so stiff it never closed right and still is stiff even though our dog "FLIES" through it. The cost of flaps and lack of fit anyway is steering me to replace the whole unit again before winter sets in. I will not buy this Pet Safe Door ever again. Sorry Pet Safe but better engineering would be in order, so it may cost more, I am going to spend it anyway on another door.

I've tried a few different brands and these are by far the best. They absorb the urine perfect and don't leak to the bottom. Other brands I've used I've ended up having to clean up lots of urine underneath. So what's the point in having a pad then, right!? I even notice if they do potty towards the edge it still manages not the leak out. I'm only buying these until my little one finally understands that outside is the best place to potty. :-)

These are very good pee pads and do not leak. They were all very uniform in size and the gel in them was distributed evenly throughout the pad. I will but again very economical compared to some of the other brands.
