My, now 6 lb Yorkie loves these balls! They are her favorite!! And they last much longer than the balls similar like this you can buy at Petco. She has played with the same ball for over a couple months now and it is still squeeking and in one piece. She is an avid chewer, at 9 months old. And most toys she ruins in no time. She absolutely loves these balls better than any of her other 20 toys! =) They are really easy for her to squeek and keep her entertained whether she is playing fetch with us or playing with the ball by herself. I would highly recommend. They are also small enough that she has no problem picking them up in her mouth, because many balls are too large for her little mouth.

If your little dog loves "squeakies", like my little Souci did, these are the one toy to have... They were her favorite, treasured like gold! It's really tough to find a flexible little squeaky ball small enough for tiny dog's mouths... We found and started with something similar at Petco. It was a regular round, colored vinyl ball, but the squeaker was totally out and even removed in less than five minutes... Then I stumbled onto this "Zanies" brand. Cost way more, individually, at the mall pet store. They're a softer, more supple quality latex vinyl, and slightly flattened, not quite round. They fit so well in her mouth and were so well made that even after the squeaky shortly got killed by my little rabble-rouser, it was still eminently her very best "favorite" toy... And it would take weeks for her to gnaw it enough to where the vinyl would begin to tear underneath to where the squeaker might come out... They're that we'll made. (Your squeaker might last longer!). No matter. That meant it was time to get out another! It's great they come in a package of six! It got so Ming, another little one, who absolutely hates anything vinyl or rubbery, would get jealous, grab it and growl... They're just that much fun. Highly recommended! We bought these dog toys because we heard that dachshunds love them and indeed they did. I say did because they killed all the squeakers and now one of the wiener dogs is hoarding them. I will definitely be buying them again. They had days of enjoyment from them and they're just the right size for a dachshund to carry around.

This is a pretty sturdy gate but getting it to hold in place is not good. There is a bar in the middle that you adjust the width of the gate to get it between two walls. But if your space doesn't fit the notches on the bar, it is too loose and a pet that jumps on it can make it fall. It would have been better if the pressure pads were attached by say 2-3 inch screws that you could use to adjust it even more by tightening or loosing the screw. Found such padded screws at hardware store but I got too small a size (1 1/2 inch). Need to get a bigger size. Works good if you put a kitchen chair on each side to hold it up and use the pressure against the wall. I don't recommend it for animals that would jump on it or try to force it down unless you find a wall to permanently attach/hook it to the wall some how. Say a hinge on one side an a hook/clip on the other wall side.

the gate itself is very high well made and i especially like that its wire...the last one i had several years ago look the same but shorter but not made with wire but plastic so that when hauled it out of garage +most of the plastic had rotted off.

i got this becuase i got a new kitten and wanted to separate himand the older menapausal cranky cat for a while. well little cat loves a challenge and she hefted her 9 week 2 pound body up and over the fence like a marine in basic training.

aslo it is a hassle when i have to go into room where gate is and have to move it. there ar gates i've seem that have a pass thru door. Had i known height wasn't going to matter i would have opted for one of those

Pet containing items are expensive. I know this, and every pet owner knows this. If your pet container doesn't work, the results are distastrous. I especially know this, after my dog learned how to jump out his $120 pen only two weeks after purchasing it. I come home to find my apartment a mess. I can only imagine how many pet owners can relate. Well, the good news is that this extra-high dog gate does work, and it works great. The thing is deceitfully strong, and with the wire mesh somewhat flexible, the dog can pull at it fiercely with having minimal effect on removing the wood frame from its place. The remaining star goes out to the desire of having the frame be made of metal or even plastic. The wood seems fine, but I think it will wear out sooner than any other material choice.

As a note, I would get the *extra-tall* gate seen below-I have an 8-lb Pomeranian and he could easily figure out how to climb over the shorter version of this gate despite being so low to the ground.

I was a little confused how to operate the pressure bar, but after 20 minutes of experimenting with it, my dog had no chance of opening it since it was so tough. Though a small dog, he is fierce and I put him as a great litmus test.

So for you pet owners worried about purchasing such an important item online, sight-unseen, have no fear: this is a safe buy. Your dog will be safely enclosed and your house will be in tact when coming home.

Well, because I checked the box that asked for lbs. and my Toby is a teacup chiwawawa, and he only weights 4 lbs. The costume was still way too big for him. Didn't even get to wear it on Halloween Day;(. I still have the plastic bag it came in. Is there any way I can return it? Please let me know asap. Thx. Paula

p.s. I would think you people have seen how small a teacup dog is and maybe should have sent a message telling me the dimensions and then I would have determined it was too big, I look forward to a response.

Well... this is supposed to be "heavyweight" and when the pkg came it says for dogs under 85 lb. I was a little annoyed by that because our 7 month old puppy is already 68 lbs so I was looking for something bigger, but decided this would do just for now. And it did do... for about 2 hours. He thoroughly enjoyed his freedom for that period of time, but when he decided it was time to come in the house... he came in the house! He broke the roller right off the cable. After looking for it for 15 minutes I found it about 30 feet away! The problem is the roller and the part that keeps the roller on the cable are made of PLASTIC. Why these parts would ever be made of plastic is far beyond my comprehension, especially for something HEAVYWEIGHT. The first time the dog pulled on it in the "wrong" direction, the whole unit snapped in half. We are now looking for a metal roller unit to see if we can still get some use out of this thing! (The rest of the kit is just fine) Very disappointed in the design of this product!

I needed shallow bowls with a rounded outer wall (not a straight bowl) for my aging kitties to easily enjoy their meals. This bowl is perfect, it feels sturdy without being heavy, it's shallow so their heads don't get food on them; they don't slip, and the painted finish is very nice. Easily cleans. The price was a good one for this quality bowl.

I was using cheap plastic bowls until I heard plastic develops bacteria. Prior to that the only problem I thought I had with them is frequent replacement due to cracking. Stainless or porcelain, I was told, is best. But the prices were extremely high at the pet shop. I shopped for a better deal but had no luck even at Wal-Mart, Target, or Kmart. None of the stores had what I was looking for at any price. Then, I shopped Amazon and found these. First, I look for color because I'm particular about things "matching". My kitchen is black, white, and deep red (kinda wine colored). These appeared to look like the right shade of red. But I still wasn't sure if they'd match, or if they'd be bright apple red. They arrived, and the red was exactly what I wanted. So, the "color" passed the test. Not only that, but they look so attractive in my kitchen where they sit on a black placemat. Concerning the bowls themselves, I am very pleased. "Misty" (My Yorkie), had a way of sliding her bowls across the floor. The rubber keeps these bowls in place; a feature I really love. She had no problem adjusting to new bowls at all. In fact, I don't know if she even cared as long as there was food and water. So, from her standpoint, the bowls weren't an issue. I haven't used them in the dishwasher yet, so can't comment on that aspect. But they wash nicely by hand, and continue to have that shiny new look. These bowls are medium sized, slightly larger than what I used before. Yet, they still are not too large for smaller dogs. I have nothing negative to say about the bowls and give them five stars. It seems they will last a long time!

(PS: I see Amazon has lowered the price since I bought these. I paid $2.00 more for each bowl. So, I'd suggest grabbing this deal if you need bowls, and the color choices suit you. They look more expensive than the most expensive bowls in the Pet Shop.)

i actually love these more than the dogs did at first they have never had a stainless bowl only plastic and it took them a little bit to adjust to the reflectivity of the bottom of the bowl a sticker or some type of dark engraving would probably have given them a feel for where the water line is they are a little slow once they stopped sticking their whole nose in the bowl and coming up snorting even they are happy i love the fact that they are holding up to the dishwasher soooo much better than everything else i have tried definately a good investment

Pros:

-Great looking gate compliments our hardwoods much more so than a white plastic gate (ugh).

-The HL and HS are almost 8" taller than the other Richell gates. The extra height is definitely needed if your dog(s) is larger than a tea-cup breed. The Freestanding design is fairly sturdy although I would be concerned if it could really hold up against very large dogs.

Cons:

-Definitely expensive. But worth it if looks are important and you forsee using it for a long period of time.

-The gate folds nice and slim but the freestanding legs stick out from the unit making it wider than I had hoped. But still easy to carry.

-Not easy to adjust the width on the fly because there are four screws that secure the two pieces of gate together.

-I would suggest coating the unit with a coat or two of polyurethane so that your dogs will not scratch the finish on top with their nails if they jump up or "hang" over the top of the gate.

After looking at many different products, I purchased this gate to prevent our toddler from getting into the fireplace. It's the perfect solution for our needs!

Things I like about it:

"This product cannot completely prevent pets from passing through." This is not only my opinion, but a quote directly from the instruction manual. My 20# dog pushed it out of his way in a short time. It was mounted on a tile floor.

I tried adjusting the length so the dog could not move it but as long as the dog had access to the sides, he could move it. The only way that I could contain my dog with this gate would be to anchor it to the woodwork.

Amazon and the manufacturer need to make this ("This product cannot completely prevent pets from passing through") known on the product description page BEFORE you order it.

I am quite pleased with the dog gate. It's very attractive. It looks much more like a piece of furniture than a typical dog gate. My only disappointment with the product is that it is rather heavy, making it somewhat difficult to move easily, which is something we need to do whenever we open the front door. (Our gate is intended to block our dog from entering the foyer.) I think I'll add felt strips over the rubber pieces on the feet to make it slide more easily.

I am less satisfied with the supplier. Delivery took a month rather than a week, and there was no notification of the delay from the supplier. However, it did eventually arrive, and it was not damaged. I will probably try to avoid this supplier for any other products, if I can, although I will use them if they are the only source of a product I want.

So I moved into a new house that had been vacant for nearly a year and during that time cats had taken over the yard. Because of this my lawn was infested with blood sucking fleas and it wasn't long before my ankles were bitten up and itching. My poor German Shepherd, Rex, was itching up a storm too even though he had been treated with Advantix (they weren't on him, but obviously got a few bites off before dying). I had used Bio Spot Carpet Spray in my previous house to keep fleas from getting in the carpet, so I tried out this spray. It worked like a charm, my ankles are healing and no new bites are forming. We use this every year because the squirrels, etc. bring fleas into a yard. I discovered after the first year that it really worked on keep down the mosquitoes and other insects.

Use to buy it at Petco, but they don't have it so glad I found that Amazon does!

I have tried numerous organic and nontoxic sprays to keep the backyard bug free for the dogs. This is the best one. It lasts the longest (4 to 6 weeks) and kills everythingchiggers, mosquitoes, stinkbugs, etc. Also it is nontoxic which is good since the dogs eat the dead bugs. Its similar to the ingrediants in frontline, etc. And they have great customer service.

Product sprayed easily, hook-up to garden hose was good, and we haven't had any sightings of the horrible little blood-suckers since.

It seems to be keeping the ants away, and it's nice that it's a tray so it can hold both the dry and wet food bowls for the cat colony. It would be much easier to use if (1) there was some way to tell how much water is in it and whether you have to refill or you are overfilling and (2) it were easier to fill (you have to be fairly precise about pouring it into the 1" hole on top). Also you have to pour slowly, because the hole is netted (to keep solids out) and slows down water entry.

Extra extra points if the company were to line the bottom with copper for the slugs!!

We have tried a variety of alternatives to stop ants from invading our cats' food. This works on two fronts. First, the water in the well keeps the ants from crawling up to where the food is. Second, the tray captures spare pieces of food that get scattered by the cats.
