I got this size for my pit bull puppy and the next size up for my 50lb 2 1/2 ft tall coonhound mix. The crate is easy to clean when the puppy makes messes in it, and came with a panel to section off the crate until the pup is bigger. For my larger dog, I started off with one of the plastic crates with a wire front gate and a small wire window on each side. within a few days, my coonhound destroyed that crate. I decided to try this wire crate with him. He still attempts to chew his way out (which is obviously dangerous for him--we're working through it), but he has not broken any of the wires. He has bent quite a few of them, but the crate is still safe for him to be in.
These crates come with a plastic tray for "easy cleaning". I leave the tray in and wipe it down with a non-toxic antibacterial spray. I have no problems with the plastic tray, but if you have a dog that digs you will probably need to replace the tray (replacement trays are available at my locally owned pet store), or switch to a metal tray.
Even though my larger dog has bent the wires in his crate, I'm still giving this product 5 stars. I've never seen in person any of the more expensive crates for destructive dogs. My dog suffers from pretty severe separation anxiety and this crate has really held up well and kept him safe. I think this is a great product--especially for the price
