I own two of these for my Black Russian Terriers the ten tooth and the 6 tooth both are BY FAR the best under coat strippers made bar none for the BRT's. I use the 6 tooth on my female mostly she has a thinner lighter coat my males is thick and gnarly.I like to strip them twice a yr .....early spring and late summerMarch Sept. This allows them to regrow winter coats and stay cooler in the summer months. Be careful when you start the brush will load up if you pull the brush backwards while doing this it will clear the brush of old hair. I use this technique and in ten minutes I'm done. On a GSD or breed with less hair but thick undercoats they are perfect for stripping them clean.
It takes a little while to learn the technique so pull it through them flip it over on the back stroke then back over again on the pull stroke. This keeps the brush clean. You'll see when you try it.
Expect a gigantic pile of hair.....if you own a BRT expect a HUGE pile.
