I bought this crate because it said that it was heavy duty. My 12 pound dog broke the wire on this crate within the first week that I had it. The frame is heavy duty but some of the wire is very thin. The broken wire went through her skin so the crate is now dangerous and useless. If you have a dog that does not want to be in a crate, I would strongly recommend that you look at a different crate.

It is a very nice kennel the only reason I gave it a 4 star is the plastic tray could be made better mine broke in 1/2 after a couple weeks but it is the best kennel we have had very sturdy except for the plastic tray.

This is a very wonderful crate now that I have it finally put together. It did not come with instructions and no way for me to contact, but I figured it out on my own and have a very sturdy and so far well built crate.

Our crazy dog had already gone through 2 crates previously and we purchased this one because it was billed as heavy duty. Our Brittany spaniel has broken 10 of the spindles already. He weighs 35lbs. The lock has held which was previously a problem with other crates. He did snap the chain of the security hook but he can't manage to release the latch fully. He did however manage to squeeze through the hole created by the broken bars but that is a testament to his prowess and not to the quality of the crate. I'm glad we didn't splurge on the $300 version of this crate.
