I totally disagree with the first reviewer! I've been using this product for two days and it makes a HUGE difference. I have 3 cats, 1 box (yeah I know.............) and my husband constantly complained of the smell even though I tried to be very diligent in box cleaning. I didn't tell him about the product but it's been sitting on top of the box for the last two days. This morning he asked me if I changed litter because he could actually tolerate being near the box!

Good product. Almost too good. I'd gotten used to scooping the litter box as soon as my nose wrinkled walking past the cat room door. Now I have to check the box.
Best Deals for Innofresh Activated Charcoal Pet Odor Absorber
Innofresh sells these in different colors and packaging, for different purposes. From what I can tell, they are all just activated charcoal in a handy container. I have bought the red one (for shoes) and now the yellow one, which is supposed to be for pets but we're using it for shoes.
My daughter puts one in each of her gym shoes. It seems to help and it does not impart any perfumy smell, which we didn't want. I couldn't find these in stores and the deodorizer balls that are sold here and in stores all seem to have fragrances. We are very happy with these.
It looks like a person could open these and refill with fresh charcoal if that was eventually needed.

The folks saying this product don't work must expect it to scoop their litter boxes for them! We have three adult cats and four rescued kittens using two covered litter boxes, and even with scooping 1-2 times a day and the Arm and Hammer litter box deodorizer, the urine smell would quickly re-assert itself. I purchased a two pack of these with the hopes it would help eliminate the smell instead of cover it up with perfumes like most products out there. At first the cats enjoyed detaching and playing with them, but eventually I was able to fully snap them onto the upper vent and they lost interest. Over the next few weeks, as I would walk by the room with the litter boxes or go to clean them, it was obvious that these were doing a great job of absorbing the offending odors. I'm very happy with my purchase, and in fact intend to buy one of the 6 packs after I finish this review. Some of the other reviewers expect this product to perform miracles and it doesn't, but if you clean your box regularly this product most certainly works as advertised.
I only gave four stars because the yellow plastic holder really needs to be stronger (snap together solidly) to withstand curious kittens, and the clip on the back was just barely large enough to attach on the vent, YMMV. Still, highly recommended!

I bought this product from a grocery store, not Amazon, but it worked SO GREAT I wanted to rate it here to boost the review ratings!! First let me give you some info: I only have one cat. My litter box placement is great (at the end of the house, away from virtually every room, near a back door for good periodic ventilation. I own a special dome-shaped litter box. It is called the Petmate 50021 Dome Litter Box or "Booda Dome" Litter box. If you can find good pictures, you'll notice there are only 2 openings: the front entrance and at the back a SMALL VENT. This is where I place the deodorizer. This deodorizer COMPLETELY ELIMINATED any smell at all for about 2 months! For the first month the deodorizer worked so well that I didn't clean the litter as often because the smell didn't remind me. I only scooped about once a week and I never once put new litter. The second month its effectiveness reduced considerably, but still worked about the same as your average low-cost deodorizer. This is the best deodorizer I've come across, I plan on using it for other things besides pet odor (like the bathroom). I haven't tried it on an open litter box yet, but to be honest I think 90% of the work was being done by this deodorizer and only 10% was being done by my actual dome litter box and kitty litter. ****If it really doesn't work for you there are several other factors to consider: you got a bad batch, you have a very sensitive sense of smell, the litter box needs to be changed more often (perhaps due to more cats), the litter box is not placed in a good area (too close to you all the time, perhaps even next to an A/C vent), your home does not have good ventilation, or you require a different type of litter or litter box to suit your needs. This product exceeded my expectations, and I think if it didn't work for you, give it another try.
