This is a nice cot and fairly easy to assemble. However, there are two areas customers should be aware of. First the feet are plastic and they are shaped like a three-leaf clover. So it is virtually impossible to cover the foot with a protective covering if you want to place it on a hardwood floor. Fortunately mine is for use on a tile floor.

The second is customer service from the company, which is close to non-existent. One of the stoppers for a top corner was missing (should have been caught in product review process). I made daily calls to the company. One girl answered. Said my problem wasn't her area and the girl who handled it was out. I left my phone number. I was never called. I finally gave up, put the bed together and marked this company off my list.

The stopper is a small round item that the company should have easily been able to place in an envelop and mail to me.

This cot is NOT what was shown in the Amazon photo and write-up. First of all it was extremely difficult to assemble. Clearly not an assembly job for one person.

Secondly it differs in both color and size from the write-up. It measures only 31" x 37" x 6" and is a dark green-brown color with the same yellowish legs as as shown in the photo.

The retail box was broken and damaged and it looked used. When it says for a LARGE PET better make that a LARGE CAT as our LARGE DOG is hanging out over the edges.

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED and would never purchase from this supplier again.

I purchased this cot for the purpose of deterring my dog from laying on the dirty brick sidewalk and to raise her off the floor in situations where laying on the floor could pose a threat (i.e. camping where there are many bugs). I also wanted a cot that would allow her to sprawl out while still fitting into the Instent Dog Haus by ABO (which I bought to keep her cool in the sun). This is a very sturdy, nicely-made cot that I put together in about 5 minutes. It will be easy to transport on our trips and, as calculated by the online measurements, it fits perfectly into the ABO Dog Haus. For someone looking for a "covered cot" situation, I was apprehensive of the models that come with the cot/cover all-in-one because none looked wide or tall enough for my large dog to stretch out in--which is why I purchased the cot and the tent separately but with the intent to use together. A couple years ago I purchased one of these Maze dog beds and a Coolaroo for my one dog because I wanted one outside and one inside and I couldn't decide which brand to go with. The Maze is a much better bed, in my opinion. The coolaroo is easier to put together but the screws tend to get loose and then the bed legs become unstable. The Maze was not difficult to put together, I am not a "tool person" or mechanically inclined at all, it just takes a little wrench and tightening 8 bolts, really no big deal!

My dog with the Coolaroo is 8 years old and not very active so the screw loosening is not due to her activity. I find that I have to tighten them every month to two months when all she does is sleep on it. The Maze dog bed is very stable, I screwed it together a few years ago, have moved it around all over the house and it is just as stable as the day I put it together.

When we got a puppy I ordered another of the Maze beds because I have been so happy with the first one. With an extremely active 40lb, 5 month old puppy this bed has withstood her abuse! She does jump on it, and chew on it, and scratch at it...all the things puppies do which you wish they wouldn't...and it's still in great shape. I am sure the coolaroo would have collapsed under her running leaps, it is simply a tougher bed.

I do really like the style of this bed keeping the dogs off the floor. Living in the desert SW it's really nice to keep them up off the cold tile in the winter and let air circulate around them in the hot summer.

The Maze Pets 9303 Cool Cot Elevated Pet Bed, Large is a GREAT value for the price. The metal frame is heavy duty and sturdy the mesh is also heavy duty. We have no fear of it ripping. I was worried about the quality of both frame and mesh when I bought it....have no fears...this bed is a well made product. As for size we have 2 dogs both Labrador retrievers. Bestla is a 65lb female and Thor a 90lb male; it has plenty of room for either dog. A larger bed would not be needed....one could go smaller (med.), if need be, for Bestla; it is perfect in size for Thor. The bed also fits into the trunk of our Chev. Cobalt....barely. You would NOT want to have to take this bed apart and put together again on a regular basis. So, I would not say this bed is really portable if you don't have room to take it with you as is. The only thing that could be improved on would be some type of rubber cap/cover on the side bolts. The side of my piano has taken a beating. But, this is something that anyone could pick up, for very little, at any hardware store. I would recommend the maze pets 9303 cool cot elevated pet bed to anyone looking for a bed of this type it is perfect for "place" training. A bonus not only do we like it but Bes likes it too.
