My dog chewed through the virtually indestructible Everlasting Fire Plug the first night it was given to him. Their site claims that "It's made from an exclusively designed material that is both durable and tear resistant to hold up to even the toughest chewers." He is an aggressive chewer which is why I sought after this toy, but I never expected him to go through it so fast, and I am very disappointed that I wasted $20 on a toy that didn't hold up to its claims.

I was surprised to read the earlier reviews that this toy is easily chewed through, as I have not found this to be the case. I have a 65 pound, 7 month old puppy who loves chewing on toys and has not been able to chew through this or any of the other Everlasting toys we have. So I wonder whether this product has been improved since those reviews. I do, however, wish that the treats that are used as "plugs" for these toys were not so expensive; especially since they do not last very long. But having the compartment in the middle to hold kibble or other treats is great. It definitely keeps my puppy busy.Best Deals for Everlasting Fire Plug
this is the ONLY toy we have found that our american bulldog/pitbull mix can not destroy. She loves this toywe put dog treats in the middle and she loves itshe also wants to play tug of war with it. not many stores carry thishave to purchase online anyway because its a lot cheaper on here. i highly recommend this to ANYONE who has a large dog that chews and destroys toys!Honest reviews on Everlasting Fire Plug
I got a small Everlasting Fire Plug for my Pomeranian because he really enjoys toys that he has to work for to figure out how to get the treats out. He has a plastic egg with a hole in it that I fill with chicken jerky treats for him every day before I go to work, and I seriously think that is the best part of his day! Sometimes if I don't get out of the door fast enough I can hear him making groaning noises behind me, as if to say "come on mom, hurry up!!" I got one of these because I was hoping that it would add some variety in his daily routine and give him something else to work with but I was wrong. After a few minutes of working at it, the toy lies forgotten.I think that part of the reason that it isn't as big of a hit is because of the treat itself. It isn't real chicken which is his favorite and I think that the liver just doesnt' taste as good. Also I think that this treat/toy is going to be appealing for a dog that doesn't want to win and has a ton of patience because there really is no way for a dog to win at this toy and get all of the treats out within a reasonable amount of time. I believe it would have taken him all day, if not several days of hard work licking and chewing on this toy to seriously make a dent in it.
Some positive things about this toy would be that there are holes on either side of the fire plug that allow you to put other types of treats in there for the dog to work at to get out. The toy itself is very durable and seems to be made of a soft rubbery material that I would imagine is easy to chew at but doesn't easily break away.
I would suggest this toy for your dog if they are highly food motivated with any type of treat. This would increase your chances I think for your dog to work at this longer. I hope that this review helped you in making your decision!

I have an 8 month old Dachshund puppy who is an extremely aggressive destroyer of toys. An extreme Kong lasts her about 42 seconds. I bought this for her because the store recommended it and advised they would take a return if she destroyed it. She grabbed the rubber rim that grips the everlasting ball, bit it one time and ripped it open. Then the treat just popped out. Of course, she didn't really care about the treat, she just let it sit on the floor while she used the next 3 or 4 seconds to literally tear this toy to shreds.Thank goodness my local pet store agreed to take it back or I'd be out 20 dollars for 10 seconds of play.
