Our young terrier mix was able to destroy most of the toys we bought him. But not Darwin! He is our dog's favorite toy and knows to fetch it when we say "Where's Darwin?" Its shape gives it a funny bounce that the pup loves. The squeaker is not too annoying and our dog was able to silence it in about a week (a good thing). Other purchasers have reported that their dog chewed off Darwin's toes or eyes, but that is not our experience. We bought our first Darwin about 9 months ago and he is still intact. This purchase was a back-up for when the frog disappears under furniture. If your dog can chew up most toys, get him or her Darwin!

I bought my dog a Darwin along with other dog toys when we first brought him home. He and Darwin had love at first sight. He plays with NOTHING else and we have bought this product over and over again. It's probably not suitable for hardy chewers, but is a delight for those a bit easier on toys. Advantages over your standard squeaky ball the feet and eyeballs give my dog something to grab on to, so it's easier for him that a ball that constantly rolls away from him.

Note that the small size does NOT have a squeaker, and it's far too small for my dog, even though he only weighs nine pounds it's always the medium for us.

This toy is very durable. My chocolate lab and my neighbors airedale terrier haven't even made a dent in it yet. They love the squeak too and it doesn't break like k**g toys do.

Our 50 pound mixed breed dog LOVES this toy. Every night he plays with it and every night we take it away because the squeaking is so loud we cannot hear the TV or conversation. :) However, he is quite a chewer and the toes on this toy were devoured within a few hours after giving it to him. Once the toes disappeared, no further damage has been done. The toes were solid so their absence did not leave an opening to the center of the toy or access to the squeaker. What is it about squeakers that dogs love?

I was really excited to see this for my dog.

But the squeaker doesn't work from the get go, no squeaking and my dog has no interest.

I contacted JW and have not heard anything back.

Horrible customer service on their end.
