We needed this for our 50lb Shepard mix to take on the ferry. And it is perfect. The extra large is very big. I exchanged the extra large for the large which is just the right size. Our dog like to lay in this while driving as well. The sheepskin may is very comfortable. It's not strong enough to carry while the dog is in the carrier. The frame is plastic. Overall it fit our needs perfectly.
