We were very happy users of this company's no-handle version (Earth Rated Dog Waste Bags,Lavender Scented, 8 Rolls, 120-Count), but decided to try these before committing to a large purchase.

You'll notice that the measurements listed for these handle bags are two inches shorter than those without handles. But they're really even smaller than that, since handle length is included in the measurements. I posted a photo on this product page showing the comparison.

Our dog is 80 pounds and for his smaller "productions" these are fine... but in other cases, we feel a bit insecure using them! No one likes to think they may accidentally touch the waste.

Plus, these aren't on rolls so you can't use them in the standard handy bag dispenser. You can put them in a fanny pack, but risk making anything else in there smell like lavender too.

Positives: these are easier to open than the type on rolls, and it's kind of nice to have the little loops to carry them with after tying off.

I was under the impression that this was going to be a box of rolls and it is not. I looked at so many products before picking this one, so it's possible that I just misread it or something. So I don't want to mark it down for my own wrong assumptions. I disagree with the other reviewer about the smell. It doesn't seem chemically to me. It's a little strong, but that's probably just because I'm not the biggest fan of lavender. I'm sure that these will still be useful so I won't be returning them. Though it's just a little frustrating that I can't use them with the dispenser. :/

I am very pleased with these bags. Bought two types, those in rolls (without handles) and those with handles that are folded flat. The bags with handles are larger than those without so would be suitable for bigger dogs (bigger poops). Both types come with lavender scent which I absolutely love! Contrary to another reviewer's comment; I don't think the scent smell 'chemical' at all; it smells like baby powder to me and it neutralizes the poop's odor quite effectively that I no longer worry about the poops sitting in our trash bin until collection day. My only gripe is that the dispenser broke after a few days of use but I learned that I prefer just keeping the whole role in my jacket pocket anyway.

A couple of suggestions for improvement:

a) make the smaller size bags come with handles as well.

b) make the perforation more obvious because it's a bit difficult finding the tear line; maybe mark the perforation line w a different color.

I use these bags to scoop cat litter. They are large enough to fit a scoop, and I can close them tightly using the handles. The scent is light, and doesn't bother me at all, but it definitely helps mask the pet odor. I will definitely purchase these again.

I bought these because they were the cheapest. The price was right but boy do they smell of chemical artificial lavender. I've had to store the bags outside otherwise my house would smell of my [unused] poop bags.
