I loved this item for about 2 weeks and then it fell apart. The material ripped near the neck and exposed the inner foam. I may have gotten a defective vest,so I want to try another one. My dog could swim for hours with this on. I would

like to exchange it for another, but because it was sold by Amazon it's doubtful it will be a simple exchange according to their policy. We shall see....

I had to return to add this comment. In less than 12 hours after I posted the above comment I had a response, a new "jacket" in the mail and a return label. Wow...unbelievable service! Thank you!

I got a new vest, but again it ripped in the same spot...the upper right side near the head of the vest. !!!

hmm where do i start with this one. BE CAREFUL. This is not a life jacket, like for people. I have chihuahua's and they arent the best of swimmers. i had one of my dogs get turned upside down for a second in one and he freaked of course and paniced. we had to grab him. it needs more boyancy on the chest to keep thier head up. the dog does not realize he will stay afloat. so they swim thier little hearts out and can exhauset themselves and can go under with this vest. just enough to drown. i bought the same version locally. little dogs arent meant for water-they do not have the boyancy like a big dog and cant take tides-surf-currents-rapids-swellsetc.....

So dont think this will keep your dog up long timeit will for long enough to grab them (thank god) and buys you the time to turn around in boat or backup. i had one jump off poontoon boat without one and i ran grabbed her skin to save her while the boat was running (split second timing) so thats why i bought one.

i am an avid boater/dive instructor and breed chihuahua's. now if they only made a dive outfit -lol

I have looked into other life vests before and this one is honestly the best! It's not bulky around the neck nor is it confining like other life vest out there. It has four simple adjustable straps; one at the neck and 3 around the body. I have had this life vest for years now and it hasn't ripped or cracked and my dogs love wearing them so they can get into the lake. I strongly recommend this brand of life vest for any size dog!!

We put it on our chocolate lab and she accepted it fine and made for a safer trip on our boat. We can move our dog around with the handle on the top and helped with our dog learning to swim. The product is exactly what it promises and I would recomend it for any dog to use.
