Although these are promoted as soft chews, they are extremely hard and crunchy. My medium sized, older dog has a problem chewing these.Monday, July 7, 2014
Reviews of Pet Naturals of Vermont Daily Best for Dogs Chicken Liver -- 45
I have tried several different vitamins for dogs, but since my dog is a diabetic I have to be careful about what I give him. He is also 14 1/2 years old so his teeth give him trouble from time to time so whatever I give him has to be chewable enough for him to eat. This product is sugar free and I give this to my dog every day and have been for months now. I can definatley see a difference in him since he's been taking these. He was not eating a lot and this really helps him to get the nutrition he needs. The bag is re-sealable which is great and keeps the product fresh. If you don't re-seal them good then they will get harder but that's just common sense. I break mine in half to give to my dog because of his teeth problems but any normal younger dog should be able to chew these just fine. I also put a little bit of peanut butter on them before I give them to him and he can't resist. Yes my dog is diabetic and I give him a small amount of peanut butter which actually doesn't have as much sugar in it as people think it does. Trust me, I've done my research on diabetic dogs! Anyways, I would recommend this to anyone and it's definately great for any dog and especially for older diabetic dogs because it doesn't have tons of glucosamine in it which can affect your dogs insulin levels. Great product and will continue to buy!
