We have 4 of these dog houses. We rescue dogs, cats and small animals. The cost was reasonable and was free shipping! Our dogs like these houses and we put straw inside for them.

I purchased this as a gift for my friends Lab as a day kennel to keep him out of the rain/wind/ elements during the day. He loves it.

It was easy to assemble, but read the order of assembly carefully.

I bought an indoor outdoor mat for the base that fits exactly to cut off any drafts. I plan to replace it periodically rather than wash it.

He has a fleece blanket, which we wash and replace.

My husband mounted the kennel on concrete slabs to keep it off the cold ground, and allow some ventilation.

The small back ventilation slide opening tends to move, and so I make sure it is closed in the winter.

I use ArmorAll to clean winterize the outside.

I use a long handled brush if I need to clean inside.

It is quite a nice heat trap for him when the sun is on it in the winter.

I bought the plastic doors but decided he would chew them, and he likes to look out, and they might get too dirty to do this.

He can get to the very back to get out of the weather.

I like the plastic rather than wood, as it dries instantly in our northwest climate.
