Flexible. The cat will run through it even if it mostly scrunched and she doesn't see a way out, because she KNOWS there's a way out. You can make it turn "corners," too. I've got it hooked up to a cube and another tunnel and it's endless fun for the cat.

I had to cut the liner out because it hung inside obscuring the tunnel, making kitty think this is NOT a tunnel. It is not as large around as another product that my cat likes better. Also this one collapses too easily for us to play with very much but sometimes he does like to run through it and "surprise" me when he runs out the other end, but mostly it sits on the floor in a partially collapsed state.

Great size, but closes up too easy and still makes too much noise with the "crinkle" so my pet bunny rabbit, really doesn't like it.

this is lined with extra piece of nylon which makes it heavier and less prone to collapsing on the ends. its actually very nice compared to some I have purchased in the past. it does collapse when the cats are going crazy running thru it or playing in it, but its made to collapse easily so you can fold it up and set in corner when not in use. Our cats grew up with these tunnels and they are used to the way they work, and they like hiding in it and jumping around and over it.

Nice looking tunnel, but it does NOT stay up on its own. Spend the extra $ and get something that does.
