It is a good product, get the pad they offer it is worth it. You may need to buy additional cushioning or blankets. The door that they sell is worthless. I still have to come up with something to replace it. I am using this for two cats and the door they sell is not for cats. I don't even see how a dog could live with it. Without the door you need something to prevent the wind and rain from getting into the house. If this is going to be for outside you may want to get some 1-2 inch form insulation to place between the ground and the bottom of the house.
