when i got it smelt terrible. i took it outside to air out but it didn't smell any better.we tried it out because we were going away and wanted to see the kennel where she was staying. when we got there i left her in therewe were only there for a minute and then we went home. When I opened it up she was cornered in the back with vomit in the front. She came out right away and I had to wash it and still after it smelt bad,the whole thing was smelling like plastic. She was healthy before I left (her nose was wet and she was as energetic as ever)so it must have been that horrible plastic smellI tried everything I washedI put those little good-smelling beads in thereI let it air outnone of it worked it is also kinda small for my dog. She's a 8 pound Havanese and its kinda small for hereven though it says bigger dogs can fitand she's small for her breed!!!!!!!!!!! I'm also concerned about the air holes. I don't think there's enough. Only two sides where it rolls up and the holes are so small it's like solid plastic! also when you roll it down and velcro it you're trapping that horrible smell in there and the nylon isn't so breatheable. I'm not surprised it isn't airline-approved but I am surprised at how high people rate this product. I don't recommend this at all-wish I could give it zero starsSO DO NOT BUY IT NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU LIKE THE STYLEIT IS NOT WORTH 30 dollars and at it's quality it should be worth 5. The carrier is ok for a small animal, light weight and convenient to carry.. It looks exactly like a velours carrier I had before and can't find now: but the nylon canvas isn't as luxurious. Except for that it appears identical so I'd give it full marks for usage.
